The more Naima Simone books I read, the more I enjoy her voice. She's a great storyteller, creating characters and plots that are believable, relatable and engaging. Knox and Eden are such characters. Their attraction, and the carefulness with which they approached their relationship, was quite compelling.
The hotness and attraction in the story will melt your kindle. Darn they were hot together, that pent up feelings just added to the hotness. It made the pages turn till you could get them back together on the page. That is the only reason I didn’t give it three stars that and the end. I liked the plot and it seemed realistic in many ways, but sometimes I just got really sick on Knox and his self hate. It got to be a broken record and I just wanted to punch him. I get the guilt and the terrible mom, but some of his inner dialogue got on my last nerve. I also laugh how the man thinks that the woman’s reactions are all about him and he isn’t even close. Eden is such a great character and her feelings seem so real and they way she handles things at the end are so good it redeems the story.
Good read. Received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
This is the first book I have read by Naima Simone and after this one it won't be the last. This book is about former MMA fighter Knox and his brother's widow Eden. Knox has had a thing for Eden since the moment he met her but knew she was in love with his brother and stayed away. Now his brother is gone and he still keeps his distance because of the guilt he feels over his brother's death. Eden is finally starting to move on after losing her husband, but now that she realizes her life will go on she can't get Knox out of her head. Or stop imagining him doing hot, dirty things to her. Especially after seeing him with another and seeing how he is. But if they cross that line can they come back from it?
I really liked this one. Knox is a hot, tattooed beast of a man who will do anything for the people he cares about. Including shoulder guilt for something that was never his fault. And the way he is with his family is definitely stand up. Eden is a sweet woman who managed to move on with her life even after being kicked down. And I love how she manages to figure out exactly what she needs and stands up for it, even with those that it may hurt and she cares about. The brother's were awesome and I hope they get a story but they definitely helped win me over towards the end with how this went. My only drawback was Knox seemed to be drowning in guilt for something he had nothing to do with and couldn't seem to stop thinking about it. But after finding out why, it did make more sense. I just wish it had been mentioned why closer to the beginning. All in all, a good read for me!
Holy Hotness!! This book is seriously sexy and full of wonderful forbidden lust. The chemistry that sizzles between Knox and Eden pulses from the the pages and the more they try to deny the hotter it burns. Lusting after his dead brother's widow will surely send Knox straight to hell but he's wanted her long before his brother saw her and it's not something he can just turn off.
This author did an amazing job telling these characters story and if you're like me you won't be able to put it down. I highly recommend it.
3 stars
A love story full of the push/ pull of wanting but not feeling you deserve it.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
WOW...what a hot read. I love Naima's books. The characters are well-written, making it easy for readers to get lost in her books. This "taboo" story is about Knox wanting his dead brother's wife, Eden. Eden wants Knox too but there is guilt with both of them. Such an awesome read!!
Knox is a former MMA fighter and now the business owner of a tattoo shop and is so full of years-long pent-up desire for his brother's widow that there were times it seemed he might go crazy. I loved the relationship between Knox and Eden and the way their hidden secrets were revealed. It's a story of guilt, jealousy, a haunting past, and a bit of erotic romance.
Two guys, one girl. MMA Champion, Knox and his younger brother, Conner, both see and fall in love with Eden at the same time. Knox, caretaker of his family since their father's death and the oldest brother, is accustomed to sacrificing for his younger brothers. Conner, the baby of the family makes the first move and eventually marries Eden. When tragedy strikes and Conner dies while in the ring, Knox shoulders the blame and guilt for Conner's death and helps Eden grieve all while denying himself and his love for her.
We see how much Knox yearns for Eden from the beginning. He is tortured over his forbidden love for his brother's wife. Eden's attraction for Knox is growing and becoming more difficult for her to deny as well. Both are so guilt ridden over their feelings for each other that the sparks seriously fly when they give in to their passions.
I thouroughly enjoyed reading Knox and Eden's story - I had a difficult time putting the book down! The sexy times were HOT! There was enough interaction with Knox's brothers to leave you wanting more of their stories. I am so hoping to see more of Jude and Simon Gordon in future books.
I requested this one because of the cover. I’m usually not like that but I was all, hello you. Knox is hot. This book was hot. Eden and Knox together are hot. The storyline is pretty good and I enjoyed the writing. The detailed hot writing. I hope we get more because there’s 2 more brothers that I would love to read about.
3.5 Stars!
This was one hot read that was a bit difficult for me to rate. The guilt that Knox displayed over and over in this book kept interrupting all that taboo hotness the author delivered to us.
Knox is an incredibly appealing hero. He's former MMA, big, tatted and gorgeous. He's got that dirty, bad boy vibe going for him, but he is also a really great guy and strong protector. They way he took care of Eden while knowing he could never have her was the soft side to his love. But that lustful side burned the pages.
Eden was a sweet character that still dealt with some demons from her husbands death but she was also ready to start living again. The one man who made her want to live again is the one she didn't think she could have. That didn't stop her from testing the waters.
When things really got heated, that guilt just kept creeping right on in. As much as I wanted less of it, I loved how it all lead to that ending. I wish we could have gotten more of these two once they broke free from all those restraints.
The side characters were a big draw in the story as well. I hope the author has plans to write a few of their stories. ARC provided by NetGalley.

2.5 stars.
Two horny people decide they can't be together whilst pining for one another in lurid detail. A physical relationship develops while they flay themselves alive for the perceived "wrongness" of their lurve. H and h are both convinced their relationship is taboo and their sexy "dirty." Both seemed pretty vanilla to me.
If you're looking for a fighter romance heavy on steam and self-flagellation this is the book for you. I'll adhere to my rule that if the main relationship obstacle could be solved by a 30-minute conversation I'm not buying the angst anyone is selling.

Eden is his dead brother's wife, but that doesn't stop Knox from wanting her. Truth be told, he loved her from the first day they met, but his brother got to her first. Even though she's off-limits, the chemistry between them grew hotter each day ... until ....
I couldn't help but fall for Knox, he just seemed to be this big, hunky guy who is protective over those he loves. I felt sorry for him because he took the weight of his family on his shoulders. His mother ... I just wanted to slap her and say "he is your son! He picked up your slack by parenting his siblings when your husband died ... he was grieving too!" And Eden was just this girl who wanted to be loved by her family. I really liked this book, but it ended way too soon ... I think there could have been more of Knox and Eden's story. Unless there is a 2nd book, which I think there will be because there sure are stories for Knox's brothers.

Holy Smokes Batman, this book is of the carts HOT!
From beginning to the end, the chemistry between the two main characters, Knox and Eden were giving me all the feels. I knew I was all in when I read the blurb, but man oh man that first chapter I was covered in Goosebumps and I was slightly squirming already. Yes this is an "Taboo" erotica story, but its more then that. I have to point out I have never read this author before, it was freaking erotic and sexy. The whole book has you in anticipation, its intense and it is packed with emotion.
Sin and Ink, was written perfectly its heavy on the sex and it delivers.
Things you might need before getting comfy, A tall glass of ice water. A towel ;) because ... or a box of tissues... Fresh pair of knickers, or not. And, maybe just maybe something that has batteries.
Knox and Eden, Eden and Knox. I cant get enough of them, she was his dead brothers wife and made a promise that he wont touch her, wont make her his... but that's all about to change when Eden decides that she wants him to mark her.
The angst level for me wasn't too bad, it didn't take away from the story it added to it. The relationship they create is so good, I really hope we see more from this world the author has created.
I loved Knox, he is everything. I cant fault this book, I really loved it. You need to read it. Possibly not in public you will want to be alone. Maybe make sure you have access to something that can help you relax, because it will make you feel really, really good.
I couldn't get over how much you could feel there chemistry oozing from the pages, it was that well done. I will definitely recommend to everyone and will be re reading it and checking out the authors other work.
5 sexy stars.
Oh my, this was a breathless story. The sex, intensity, intimidation of the lead hero was tingling and amazing to witness. One of the good erotic writing I've read in a long time.
I loved this book!
From start to finish this book had me hooked.
Eden used to be married to Connor who is now deceased from a ruptured brain aneurysm he experience while in a MMA fight. Knox. Oh Knox! Knox is Eden's brother-in-law. He has been in love with her before she even belonged to his brother. he has never stopped loving her. Ever!
Eden has just now began to notice Knox in that way.
The love between these two grows slowly and sweetly. I felt the anguish these two felt while reading the pages... I felt like I was feeling there pain.
Seriously, this is such a good book! I HIGHLY recommend this one!
This book appears to be a standalone, but I hope Jude and Simon get books of there own.
This is my second book by this author.
Oh my! I said that a lot while reading this book. I said DAMN! a whole lot too while fanning myself! Knox and Eden were so hot! Knox owns and operates a tattoo shop which he opened after his younger brother died after an MMA match. Eden is his brothers widow who is now the manager of the shop. I loved watching it develop and seeing them work through their own grief. I hate reviews that give you every detail about the book. So I'll just say the characters were written well and you could relate to them and feel them through her writing. Knox was a great character and as you read along you realize how deep he feels and how much he has been through while dealing with his own grief. I absolutely loved reading this story and couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read in this series I already feel attached to the characters that were introduced through this book! Eden was great as well I loved how she wrote her as a strong lead. But she was a woman battling with feelings after grief. I really loved reading this book and feeling all the emotions. It was raw but honest. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Remember it is HOT HOT HOT!
OMFG! So much to love about this book! The story is as hot as the cover! Falling for his brother's widow and trying to stay away is something this hero cannot do! The hero and heroine definitely belong together and seeing it unfold was awesome! I love me some happy endings and this definitely came through! This is my first time reading this author but it won't be the last. I'm hooked!
WOW! This book is hot and full of emotion. I loved both Knox and Eden. Poor Knox is so tortured by the loss of his father and more so the loss of his younger brother. Big, alpha heroes who need saving are my weak spot. Eden's been through a lot, raised by an alcoholic father and neglectful mother then being widowed barely into her 20s. Both fight hard to ignore their mutual attraction mainly because Eden's dead husband was Knox's brother. The implied incestuousness of them pursuing a relationship is a huge taboo to try to ignore. Add in the complications of Knox's misplaced guilt, a difficult family situation and Eden's conviction that she's alone in her attraction to Knox, oh and Eden works for Knox, and things get even more difficult. There's more but I've already spent too much time retelling their story. This books will definitely tear at your heartstrings repeatedly.
There's not much action or many new developments in the story. Mostly, it deals with Knox and Eden fighting their desires then trying to hide their relationship. We get a little insight into their lives outside of this situation but only a few glimpses.
The story is well-written, the characters full and interesting and the hard-won happily ever after is satisfying. And hot? Oh My! I enjoyed the book.
3. 5 stars
Knox and Eden Gordon share a tragedy... the death of Connor, the pair's brother and husband.
However, Knox has been madly in love with his now dead brother's wife since he set eyes on her.
So between survivors guilt and guilt over his feelings, Knox is suffering, badly.
When the story moves beyond these feelings there is a lot to enjoy but the thread of 'guilt' becomes a bit tiresome and could impact on the reader's enjoyment.
Having said that, I would not be put off reading more about the Gordon brothers.
Is this the beginning of a new series I wonder?
Holy smokes this is a one steamy read that I couldn't put down. Fabulous read from page one to the end. Sin and Ink is a beautifully written story with lots of emotional drama. The story is about a forbidden love. My heart hurt for the main characters, Knox and Eden. They had so many obstacles to over come. I would recommend this book.
