This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you
Love the cover....hawt. This was a great book with an alpha possessive male character. Jacob Night is owner of Military Ops 11th hour as he saves an amnesiac victim because she could lead him to his lost twin brother. Six months in Jacob forces Faith into who her mind has forgotten she is and gets a little more than he bargains for.
What did I like? Jacob was just incredibly possessive... just love the alpha essence. Once he has her where he wants her though she easily flips the power switch which made her an alpha girl. Finding his brother Joshua sends a painful message but love the HEA.
Would I recommend or buy? Yessss....I want the whole series. Give me. I had three of Jackie Ashenden books on my tbr pile and since most of us are in quarantine I just decided to binge. I’m glad I did. Loved the book. Five stars.
Thoughts for the author? Loved it. I received a copy to read and this is my opinion. Loved Jacob and Faith....great read.
Love this. Action packed, mysteries all around. Had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Cant wait for more.
LOVE the 11th hour. These are amazing. I love the independence of the women and the undeniable chemistry.
As always, I appreciate the opportunity to read and review this title.
However, I was not able to finish this as I was not able to connect with the story and the way the characters were written.
I have chosen to mark this title as a "DNF" and I apologize for the delay in sending this response to this title.
Thank you!
He’s the owner of a billion-dollar security company and leader of the 11th Hour who spends his life completing dangerous missions for others. But Jacob Night has one personal mission he has yet to complete, finding his missing brother. She has no memory of who she is or her life before she came to work for Jacob Night and she’s not sure she wants to remember. When she and Jacob are ambushed by men who have come to kill her for sins she can’t recall, she has no choice but to face the past and once everything comes to light, they may not escape with their lives intact, let alone the hearts.
Jacob Night’s story is one well worth waiting for. The characters are strong and supremely convincing as Jacob tries to pry Faith’s memories loose while struggling with some off the charts chemistry and a combustible relationship that has missiles exploding every direction. Lots of gripping emotional turmoil and fiery passion flows from the pages of very intense and highly entertaining romance, where readers can’t decide if they should chuckle, sigh or duck for cover.
As Faith body begins to betray her by remembering the past, Jacob continues to egg her on hoping for a breakthrough in recovering her memories which keeps dialogue and suspense quite volatile. While, the fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge with lots of exhilarating action and thrilling excitement with some jaw dropping twist that has readers gearing up for more with turn of the page throughout this highly explosive and intense read. Jacob and Faith take not only each other by storm but also the readers with hurricane force winds.
WOW another powerful, emotional and action packed story from MS Ashenden, she never disappointments me her characters are so very strong and have so much going on and she brings it all out in a story that is very hard to put down, this time we get the boss of 11th Hour Jacob Knight’s story and has this man got some baggage and the person that will get him to open up is Faith, but not before Jacob makes Faith dig deep as well, hang on for a fabulous ride.
Faith has been with 11th Hour for six months and only Jacob knows that she is suffering from amnesia, she has no memory of who she is or what has gone on in her life before, but Jacob needs that information to find his missing brother, a lot has happened since they were separated and no one knows the truth, but considering the feelings he is harbouring for Faith then maybe opening up to her will also help her get her memory back.
When her memory does return it hits Faith like a brick wall and she needs to get away from Jacob, she has many secrets that she keeps and even though Jacob has opened up to her opening up to him maybe bad idea or a good one, their relationship is growing in many different ways, but she is determined to get to the truth about a friend. And just maybe he is her prince for a princess after all.
This is a really fast paced story the heat that arcs between Jacob and Faith could light up a town, but the danger keep them going, the need for both of them to protect each other gets stronger and when Jacob’s brother arrives on the scene emotions fly, I did love this story and this series, MS Ashenden you rock with your stories woohoo, thank you.
Jackie Ashenden is definitely my go to author, and this book is why. It’s the perfect blend of romance, suspense and surprise twists to keep you totally engaged. Loved this author and her books. Absolutely recommend
This was nothing like the cover copy (Ie Hero did not think Heroine had betrayed his brother) but I enjoyed immensely + all the sexy Bond vibes. Also very hot.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be the last. I love reading military/black ops stories that feature a superbly conditioned Alpha male who can handle anything that comes his way with one hand held behind his back while he struggles with his vulnerabilities. This one has a unique twist in that the vital information Jacob Night needs is locked in the mind of a woman who has lost her memory due to a traumatic brain injury. Faith has been living and working with Jake for five long months and while she remembers many things she’s no closer to remembering her ex-husband. This book has a well built storyline that’s both believable and compelling with plenty of action and an enigmatic billionaire who has met his match in a woman he can’t forget. I read a complimentary copy of this book provided by Kensington Books through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book
I loved the chemistry between Jacob and Faith as they try to figure out just what Faith knows and how she was involved with his brother.
Overall this book was great! It is action packed and filled with suspense and heat!
Jacob is searcing for his missing twin brother and he believes his ex Faith knows exactly where he is or what happened to him. The problem is when he finds Faith she has no memory and doesn’t want to remember. Every time she even tries to think about it she get scared and knows her past wasn’t good. She knows Jacob is lying to her and isn’t who he’s telling her he is but she has to trust him for now especially when ballets start flying. She knows there for her and not himt. The story is fast paced and full of surprises. This is the first book in this series I’ve read but now that I’ve read one and have background on the gother characters, I’m compelled to go back and read the others. I received an ARC from Netgalley and Kensington.
A new to me author, but I've already added the other books in the series to my TBR list!
Jacob may be the boss but he is still a man. He is intensely attracted to Faith but she is a bit of an enigma. Being an amnesiac does that to a persons curiosity! But she has some deep, deep, dark secrets that she may or may not want uncovered.
Faith comes over all eager, earnest and enterprising but muscle memory can be a beatch and she soon finds herself with all sorts of "new" talents! Great leads, Jacob is all uber protective alpha with his team but with some deep seated reservations with everyone else. With his family feud you can see why!
Wow! Jacob and Faith - when reading the previous in the series, I knew there had to be significant back story with these characters, but WOW, I was not prepared for this! An intriguing storyline and lots of twists. Surprisingly these two had similar backgrounds. Faith was a seriously strong woman, body and mind, and I'm glad she didn't let Jacob go. I hope there are more stories in this series.
This book is fast paced and the characters has a heavy tension between them, its a hot suspenseful story. Filled with action and sex and romance. I highly recommend this book.
I was given this book from netgalley to give an honest review..
Faith was a mystery to Jacob.Jacob watched her from his town car as went into the bar at the top of the stairs. Her body had been teasing him for five months at least and he wasn’t a man who denied himself. But going there with Faith wasn’t a good idea. But after six months she still had no memory of who she was. Than what he learned from Phillip Blake - little facts and tidbits into the jigsaw puzzle that was Faith- such as her real name , part of her background. Jacob had found her badly hurt with no memory in a hospital he lied and said he was her cousin. He brought her to his home and into the 11th Hour Team - a paramilitary organization that did special “jobs” for people. He had set it up six months earlier and since than Faith had been his go-between . She didn’t need her memory for that. She was turning out to be one of his team’s best assets. Cool, calm, and totally professional. He had wanted to tell Faith what he had learned but she said she wasn’t ready yet to know. But Jacob wasn’t going to wait forever. Deep in Faith’s memories somewhere was the knowledge of where Jacob’s missing twin brother Joshua was. The brother Jacob had been looking for the last five years. Faith came back to the car from the bar. She had gone on a new recruit mission and she thought things went well
and he seemed interested. All new recruits were thoroughly vetted by both Faith and Jacob. Physically and psychologically. All current members were essential to the team and had developed a good rapport with one another and it was always tricky adding a new recruit since that changed the teams dynamics. Faith wouldn’t often look Jacob in the eye or get close to him either. But he knew it was because of the undeniable physical chemistry which clearly made her both suspicious and uncomfortable. She had also been Joshua’s lover. No one talked to Jacob like Faith did. Everyone else was too afraid. But Faith didn’t seem to have any problem with giving him a tongue- lashing if she thought he deserved it. No one knew Jacob’s background he made sure of that. Faith didn’t want to know who she really was, she got cold at the thought of it. Jacob never did anything without a reason, Faith had learned that. Jacob was a mercenary. Essentially the 11th Hour was guns for hire. The missions Jacob usually accepted entailed protecting people who needed it, or taking down people who deserved it, so it seemed simplistic to label them as basic mercenaries. Than they were shot at while in the car and Jacob drove to the airport and flew the plane even though he had been shot in his thigh and got them to a safe house in another state. Jacob had destroyed the fragile bubble of normality Faith had built for herself by telling her what he had - her real name and who she was. Than Jacob and Faith became lovers. Jacob convinced himself he could have one night with her.
Great book. I absolutely loved it and didn’t want to put it down. I loved Faith/Joanna and Jacob together especially both parts of Faith wanting Jacob I also loved how they interacted. They had both lost or didn’t have so much and got very little back in return for a long time. Both were strong independent people but also lonely. I loved the ending it so fit. I loved the action and suspense in this book. I found nothing to criticize in this book very happily! I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.
Great book!Loved Faith and Jacobs characters! The book was everything I enjoy reading about with a great plot, mercenaries, romance, suspense and of course sexy scenes and characters.I didn’t read the first two books in the series and am definitely going to read them in the near future.I read this book as an arc and this is my honest opinion.
I loved this book and I loved the whole series. I feel like amnesia plots are always a little dicey, but it really worked for me in this case. I think that the romance between Jacob and Faith was really compelling. I loved the whole "I'm this super possessive alpha male" and I have crashed into love. The potential forbidden love aspect--who is this woman? Is she my brother's lover? What can I do to help her regain her memories? This book has enough suspense to keep me interested, but I definitely thought the romance was primary, which I very much appreciated.
As always, too, with Jackie Ashenden---super crazy hot!
What an exciting book! This book explains how Faith Beasley comes into Jacob Night’s life and the 11th Hour team. It is faced-paced from the very first page and continues until the last. Jacob and Faith are intense together and sexy. They fit together perfectly and give each other what both have been missing all their lives. We also discover the history of Jacob and his brother. This series is action-packed and so interesting. Can’t wait to read more!
Two characters both so tough and hard in so many ways but both so damaged and reliant in others.
Faith has no memory of who or what she is when Jacob arrives at the hospital saying she is his cousin Faith she has to believe him what he isn't telling her is that she is the link to his missing brother Joshua When her memory finally returns she realises that she is Joanna Lynn a covert Military Special Ops agent who was sent to kill Joshua, her own team betrayed Now the two of them must work together to find out exactly what is going on. This is a fast paced book with plenty of twists and turns to keep you turning the pages as fast as you can
