Good read!
Action packed, humorous, intriguing and emotional.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
I was so looking forward to reading Erick's backstory since we first met him in book 1. I was curious to who he would end up being with and I wasn't disappointed. Tarr was mysterious, hiding in the shadows and pretty much the opposite of Erick. Overall, I enjoyed the book but several times I felt parts of it were a bit rushed. I didn't realize it was a novella until the book was on my Kindle and I was about to start. I would've like a novel length story for Erick and Tarr. The book was fast paced, which fell in line with the other books in the series. It had humor, there were several times I laughed out loud.
If I'm not mistaken, this was the last book in the series. I do appreciate that there were a few things left unsolved which does leave the possibility to revisit the series in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Romance for this free eRAC. I am a huge fan of Megan Ericsson's Wired and Dark series. I was thrilled to find out we were getting more!

This was a short novella, but I really enjoyed it. Right away, the readers are thrown into action. I loved getting to see more of Erick, and that he worked with Tarr, who we also got to learn a lot about. There is a strong chemistry between them, and they both try to fight it. In the end, I am so happy to see Erick get his happily ever after!
.
I hope this isn't the end, and Megan Erickson has more to share with us!

Pub date for ebook is October 16th!
I've been looking forward to this story in the series, but I wish it could've been longer! Also, I really missed the bulk of the rest of the crew, who weren't in this novella.
Erick Lee has been living for revenge since his beloved boyfriend was murdered. He's a fantastic hacker, and he's used his skills to help his best friend, and his boyfriend's brother, Roarke (the hero from book 1), to find the killers. They've picked up some additional friends for their crew, and they've made some more enemies along the way too. When a friend of one of their crew members saves Erick's life on a job, he feels indebted to the guy, but he doesn't want to. The guy's a hitman, and Erick's boyfriend was killed by a hitman. He wants to find the guy and resolve the debt, so he no longer has it hanging over his head.
Everett "Tarr" Hawk has had a rough go in life. Things didn't turn out the way he thought they would, and he made the best he could of a bad situation. He's lived the last 15 years as a hitman. He's just been coasting through life. Never happy. Never making real connections with anyone. The only person he has in his life at all is his sister and her kids, but he tries to stay out of their lives as much as possible, for their own safety. He owes what he considers to be a lifelong debt to his old friend Jock (the hero of book 2). So, when Jock needs help, he shows up and provides it, saving Erick's life in the process. He's drawn to Erick, but he never imagines anything can come of it. But, when Erick's search for him, leads mutual enemies to their doors, they have to work together to fix it.
Tarr and Erick were very drawn to each other from the beginning, but they were both fighting against it for their own reasons. Erick was appalled at himself for being attracted to someone he assumes is amoral. Tarr is scared to make a true connection of any kind. They were pretty decent at communicating with each other, even when their talks were painful and hurtful. I enjoyed watching them fight their connection, and be unable to do so. I also really loved Tarr's conversations with his sister. Though they made me cry, it was cathartic for both of them, I think. And for me too.
The suspense plot was fun, and exciting, and I enjoyed that aspect of the story. But, the overarching suspense plot that's run through the series so far didn't really progress any further, so I really hope that this isn't the final book in this series! I really did miss the fun personalities of the rest of the crew, who weren't in this story. I understand in a novella it's hard to include everyone, and we did get a glimpse of Roarke, Jock, and a bit of Wren (the heroine from book 1, and Erick's sister), so that was great fun. Also, a couple of the new characters in this story were awesome as well, especially Trig.
I really enjoyed this story, and I loved seeing Erick get his HEA. I've come to love his goofball self throughout the series, so I loved seeing him finally happy. Again, I wish there was more to this story, but I loved what I got. I really do hope this isn't the end, since some of the suspense plot of the series is still ongoing. I definitely recommend this story.
This series has been a gritty, intense, exciting ride. There's more of the same here - but the vibe is different. It felt lighter in a way that was jarring for me. It's a novella, so things moved very quickly, but I wanted them to slow down. I have adored Erick over the course of this series before, and the chemistry between him and Tarr was on point in Darkest Night. The set-up was there, and at times I completely connected with it. I just would have liked a little MORE from it. It felt a little rushed and didn't go as deep as I would have liked it. It was still exciting, and entertaining, just a little off center for me when it comes to this series.
Megan Erickson’s Wired and Dangerous series is fast paced and intense and Final Day is no exception. This installment keeps you breathless from page one.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novella.
I have a habit of picking up books solely on me liking the premise. Never mind the fact that it could be #20 in a series of 50. So you can guess where I am going with this, right? If you didn’t, then know that I picked this up based on the synopsis but I’ve never read the other titles in the Wired & Dangerous series.
Right off the bat, the reader is dropped into the action. Erick Lee is chasing after Everett “Tarr” Hawk, because the hitman had saved his life. From there, it’s whirlwind of action, romance, angst and two bickering guys who totally have the hots for each other.
Now, I really enjoyed this novella. The thing is I always have a bit of a thing with novellas about characters who haven’t had their spot in the limelight. Like, I’m totally up for novellas about the couple that gets together in book one, and all that. So, I was surprised when I realized this was a #2.5 installation and not a full-fledgling novel. Which is where I think most of the problems will stem from for readers.
Erick and Tarr definitely had chemistry, and I loved the way they both had things to overcome before they could get together. But, the thing is that there’s only so much time within a novella that things can progress, which is why I think Erick and Tarr deserved a novel. Erick had a thing against hitmen, so for the length of the novel is seemed rather hurried and rushed for Erick to get with Tarr. Then, there could’ve been such development and complexity with Tarr’s character and background—but like with Erick’s misgivings, it felt rushed. So, yeah, most of the novel felt rushed and like giving it time it would have been more believable? I don’t know, I feel like this definitely had potential. For me, I can take it for what it is—a great installment to a series I haven’t read *laughs.* Yet, I anticipate that most readers and fans of the series will be wanting for…more.
I’m just going to say it…

Why did the first LGBTQIA+ representation in the series have to be relegated to a novella and not a novel?
I am a huge fan of Megan Erickson's Wired & Dangerous deries and could not wait for Erick's story. We learned a lot about him from Roarke and Jock's book and his connection with Tarr from the last book could not be denied. I enjoyed this fast paced and adrenaline pumping story and loved the chemistry between Erick and Tarr!
Erick Lee was never expecting to feel something for another person ever since his boyfriend was murdered by hitmen. But after he was was saved by another hitman, Everett "Tarr" Hawk at the end of book two, he was now consumed and hung up on finding out what Tarr's motivations were. It went against everything be believed about mercenaries for hire so his growing interest and attraction was something he needed to reconcile.
All in alI I really loved finding out more about Erick's relationship with Flynn and delving deep into the closed off and broody Tarr's head. The attraction between them was palpable and I was hooked from the very first page. Erick was funny and sarcastic which was a fun bonus. I really enjoyed this story and seriously need more in this series!
I would like to thank Netgalley and Forever Rkmance for an advanced copy of this look for an honest review! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula
This was just a bit too rushed for me, both in terms of the relationship between Erick and Tarr and in terms of the overall plot. Everything just happened so quickly and it didn’t feel like there was enough development. For all of Erick’s misgivings regarding hitmen due to a past negative experience, he seemed to get over it fairly quickly to get together with Tarr after being wishy-washy about the whole thing for a bit. The main plot also went by too quickly, and I didn’t think enough information was included overall. I really liked the idea of this book, but felt it should have been longer for more development. I wanted to know more about Erick and his job, and it felt like he got over his lover’s death somewhat quickly. I also wanted more background on Tarr. I enjoyed the scenes between Erick and Tarr, as well as the scenes with Erick, Tarr, and Tarr’s sister’s family, but again wish the book was expanded on more. The ending felt a bit anticlimactic.
I didn't like Roarke, except in his save the day mode, but I liked Erick immediately, so I was delighted when I got to read this novella's ARC.
As you can see by the stars given, I wasn't disappointed. What a pair... I'm not sure I could've thought up a less likely love interest for Erick! Or for Tarr, for that matter. I wish Erick had gotten a whole novel, but I'm happy with the way this romance came together, and that is the point of a romance, after all.
Having read the second in the series I figured they author would write her LGBT characters romance. It is a novella so short and sweet but this story lacked direction and fell short of expectations. So far this series has fall flat for me even thought I have been hoping it would be the next go to series.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of Megan Erickson Final Day.
