A very consuming and unpredictable read! A lot of twists and turns and keeps you sucked in until the very end! I loved Tessa and Reed's story. It shows that although some are entitled or seem to have it all, sometimes that's not always enough. Thanks NetGalley for allowing me to read and review for my honest opinion.
I loved this book......it definitely held my attention and kept me flipping pages. I highly recommend this book.
Oh my. I don’t even know what to say about this book. I will say that for this authors first novel she really hit it out of the park. With engaging characters, witty banter, a plot that begs to be devoured, once I started I couldn’t put it down. I liked both Tess and Reed. I could feel the connection they had and even though I wanted to smack them both up side the head I couldn’t help but root for them to be together.
The secondary characters played such huge roles in the story and while some of them annoyed me to no end, their parts had to be played. Now when it comes to cliff hangers there’s ok ones that don’t leave me wanting to throw my kindle and ones that have me so mad o should have waited and this book is the later. I am going to be stalking this author until the next book come out because she has such an amazing talent. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen. 5 stars #2OCCJD
At the beginning of the story we meet the twins, Jax and Reed then Tess who is new to NY coming from California. Tess's mom is friends with the twins mom. Tess has a ton of anxiety growing up and her and Reed hit it off right away. Growing up their relationship has some ups and a lot of downs. I have to say Tess's best friend Brance is by far my favorite in the book. This is an amazing debut novel from Cassandra Robbins! I did not want to put it down. There is so much heartbreak but it is all worth it. It does end with a cliffhanger note the duet in the title but it is so worth it! You will not be disappointed. I couldn't go into to much detail with this one because I don't want to give the book away. Just know it is fantastic and worth the read.
I am completely blown away that The Entitled is Cassandra Robbins' debut story!
Holy wow! Talk about a story that hits you with a punch. I'm still emotionally reeling after finishing up Tess and Reed's story. And to know there will be more just gets me all excited.
In the beginning, I wasn't sure I was going to like Reed. But he and his brother Jax sure did grow on me. I really enjoyed going back to when Reed, Jax and Tess first met when they were younger. I was able to get a "feel" for them and it had a huge impact on what I thought of them later on. The story itself is very emotionally charged and I wanted to keep reading even when I had things I needed to do. The rush I felt was out of this world. It's definitely fast paced with lots of action. I liked Tess one minute then hated her later on, only to like her again as the story progressed. The girl has a lot going on, for sure!
The Entitled is a page-turner and one that I highly recommend. It's going to be hard waiting for the conclusion, but if it's anything like The Entitled, it's certainly going to be worth the wait.
Oh my sweet baby jesus this book!! 💕😭😭
There just isn't enough word's to express in how absolutely amazing this book was. This is my first book by a new arthur for me and wow is all I can say. This is the story of Tess & Reed who meet when their both 8 and Reed claims her as his own so that his twin brother Jax doesn't get dibs on Tess. Oh yes indeedy these boy's are a hoot at that age and she's their accomplice. This book takes you through the stages of them growing up and Tess and Reeds love continues to blaze into an inferno with an obsession for each other. When I started reading this I honestly couldn't stop so about 1 am I had to stop I kept telling myself I'll read to this chapter or time and pretty soon I was almost done. This is one heluva page turning book and you can't help but want to root them on, but they had issues and their age played a difference in their bad decisions, but you will fall in love with them just the same I can't wait to find out what happen's next.. Yes definitely a must read.
This is just my opinion and my voluntary review
THE GOOD:
* I like the story concept and how we see growth in Jax and some in Reed
* The story outlines a love that is all consuming and shows how sometimes this isn’t a good thing
* Jax-he was the brother that just was kind and sweet. In the end I was on the fence about him.
* the ending left me reeling and I couldn’t believe Tess and what she did. I also couldn’t believe Reed’s family did that as well. And how she blamed him wrong. All kinds of wrong on all sides. He didn’t deserve that no matter how controlling and a douchenozzle in the past he was.
* The evolution of Reed from a selfish, entitled douchenozzle to a mature, slightly less douchenozzle who has taken his lumps and sucked it up buttercup. He has experienced pain loss and it has hardened him but in those college years you see him more mature and consistent. He is supportive but also kinder and more accepting. That final decision of his was difficult you can tell but one you understand.
*no matter how much the main characters drove you bazonko, the story drew you in. They were a train wreck waiting to happen but you needed to see the disintegration. And see Reed slowly evolve into a less douchenozzle over time had you stay in the story as well. You wanted to know the secret and once out you want to know what is next. Me: TEAM REED. His brother disappoints me and his family just all kinds of wrong. They don’t really think about Reed at all but Tess so I understand why Reed in three years pulled away more. He I think could feel something was being held back. He also went through some dark ties and it hardened him but also disciplined him and got him to be more in control of himself. Too bad it may have also hardened his emotions as well.
THE BAD:
* The main characters. I have Reed grow on me more than Tess but you can’t really like them. As stated earlier-Reed you grow to like more but Tess she just grates on my last nerve throughout.
* Tess-she was too needy, whiny and aggravating. At the end where she was blaming Reed was all kinds of wrong. He didn’t destroy anything she did. He didn’t lie she did. She blames everyone but herself. Always made herself the victim. She wasn’t. And at the end I wanted to smack her so bad.
* the romance toxic and a bit over the top at times - it was all consuming and started to destroy who they were. Reed more than Tess. Tess was just grrr....Reed he began to grow on you as we see him mature.
*
YAY or NAY: Yes because I need to see Reed’s story out. Has he matured enough? Will he be able to forgive his family is my biggest one. That right there is the aspect I am shocked most about. Tess no his family yes. Can he let go of his anger and grow more. Will his heart thaw. Me what Tess did was disgusting and she acts like he forced her hand. He didn’t and she is wrong so so wrong especially since she had his family this whole time on her side and he had no one. No feeling sorry for that chick. Reed yes her no. I hope he can overcome his anger in the next part but not sure I want Tess in his world other than on the periphery. Beginning to feel that his family there is a good thing as well.
Such a great debut novel, with lots of drama and push and pull. A real page turner which ends in a cliffhanger. Can't wait for more.

For being Cassandra’s first novel, I have to say this was a really good read.
The first bit in the first chapter oh my goodieness. I was hooked. I wanted to keep reading to see where the story was going to go. I was able to read this story in a day.
The connection that these two have is undeniable. They have known one another since they were 8 how cute right? Tess’s parents come for a visit and when they first meet, I think it’s adorable that Reed got all gobsmacked when he first see’s Tess. Their relationship is real, and I find that reading some books it’s sometimes is hard to come by. At some points I did get a little annoyed because Reed and Tess love one another unconditionally and they just couldn’t communicate their feelings. Aside from that I really enjoyed the book and the relationship they had.
*I received Entitled ARC for my honest opinion*
I had a hard time putting this book down. Reed and Tess have had an all consuming love since they were 8 years old.
The emotions you get when reading this book is all over the place. This book encompasses all of the emotions. It definitely had quite a few steamy scenes. I wouldn’t read this in public...it’s quite naughty. I’m certainly not complaining ;-)
I will say that I wasn’t the biggest fan of either of the two main characters. Tess was a little too damsel in distress for me and Reed was over the top. However, the story line kept me reading and I’m glad I finished it.
This book definitely leaves off with a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next book!
