I'll Always Love You by Ella Quinn is book 5.5 in The Worthingtons series. This is the story of Lucinda Hughlot and Gerald, Earl Elliott. I have read the previous books, but feel this is easily a standalone book. Gerald isn't having any luck in the marriage mart so when he is asked to help oversea his friends sister at her coming out, he thinks this would put him closer to finding a wife. Lucinda's mother was reluctant at first to send her out with the scandal that happened but giving in she thinks to match Lucinda with a Marquis to help save her daughter. Lucinda isn't happy with her mother's match and is falling for Gerald but she just has to convince him that she the one for him.
Ms. Quinn's writing always gives me such joy when reading her stories.
I’ll Always Love You by Ella Quinn
The Worthingtons #5.5
Sweet rather predictable novella that sees Lady Lucinda Hughlot and Gerald, Earl Elliott find true love in spite of Lucinda’s mother wanting her to marry someone else. This story has a slow build to the HEA with two characters that are entertaining and worthy of one another. There is another couple that finds true love through matchmaking on Lucinda’s part. There are excursions, balls, rides in the park, a few kisses, two weddings and a consummation. A fun regency romance that was entertaining to read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Zebra for the ARC – This is my honest review.

I received an ARC of this novella through NetGalley to read in exchange for a fair review. I’ll Always Love You is the seventh book in Ella Quinn’s Series The Worthingtons. It could be read as a stand-alone but I have enjoyed reading the series and recommend them. Despite agreeing to let her have a season Lady Lucinda Hughlot’s mother has contrived to betroth her to the son of her good friend. Lucinda realizes that the gentleman in question would be a terrible match for her and decides to do a little matchmaking of her own to find him someone else to marry. Lucinda’s brother has asked his good friend Gerald, Earl Elliott to help ease Lucinda’s way in the Ton. The more time he spends with her, the more he wonders if perhaps she is the one for him, however his mother and her mother are vehemently against the match.
More sweet than steamy. Publishing Date November 27, 2018 #NetGalley #IllAlwaysLoveYou

Entertaining from beginning to end, this latest story in the Worthingtons saga brings Lady Lucinda and Gerald, Earl Elliott together in an unexpected way! Happy to finally be having her season, Lucinda is not pleased when her mother tries to arrange a marriage for her with a Marquis. Fortunately her brother has asked his friend Gerald to watch out for his sister during her London season. Since he is looking for a match himself, it seems the perfect solution. Not! His affection for her grows as he is around her and it seems she is to marry another! What to do? Well Lucinda has it under control when she decides to find a suitable match for the Marquis instead of her! You see she is falling for Elliott and hopes all will work out for them, that is if her mother does not ruin everything!
A delightful tale that will have you smiling as you turn the pages.
Ella Quinn has a totally unique style of writing that is like laying around on the sand listening to the waves. It is just that soothing and calming cadence. Lucinda and Gerald’s story is filled with wonder and happiness. They are both cheerful and vivacious people that enjoy similar activities and perfectly complement each other. They make great friends to others and look out for their best interests. As they spend time together and fall in love, it was good to see the ladies take the bull by the horns and declaring themselves to the gentlemen.
I'll Always Love You by Ella Quinn (novella). 3.5 stars
It is a pleasure to visit the world of the Worthingtons. This time we get a sister-in-law of Louisa Worthington, so we get small mentions of prior characters. Lucinda is a heroine that quickly knows who she wants and she wants Gerald. Gerald has been a minor character in several books and it is good that he gets his own story. I enjoyed this book and it was a quick read. But I think the next book will be more to my taste because it will take us back to the main Worthington household.
Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for an ARC of the novella
This is a sweet romance with very engaging characters in Lucinda and Elliot. Lucinda wants to marry for love but her mother has different ideas as to who would make a suitable match. Elliot is looking for a bride but wants one of his choosing. Lucinda’s brother has asked Elliot to keep an eye out for Lucinda as she navigates her first season. Will the mothers get their way? Lucinda is very enterprising and has a solution of her own. This was an entertaining story that can be read in a day. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a sweet story that has four interesting main characters. There is some tension, no bad person, and cute solutions to the one problem. The problem is how to get around two mothers who want to arrange a marriage between their children. Of course the children have other ideas and that drives the plot in the story. Fun to see the Worthington again.
I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.
This was a sweet little addition to the Worthington series, featuring Louisa's sister by marriage Lady Lucinda Hughlot and Gerald, Earl Elliot.
Lucinda is finally getting her London season thanks to Louisa and Rothwell being able to convince the dowager duchess that she must sponsor her - the dowager has not been in town since her husband's death and has avoided returning due to the scandals her late husband caused. She informs Lucinda that she has spoken to her dear friend the Marchioness of Quorndon and they have decided that her son the Marquess and Lucinda will be a perfect match. Lucinda is dismayed, she wanted to choose her own husband and dreamt of a love match. But she agrees to meet the Marquess to keep the peace.
Gerald has not had much success in his quest for a bride, he seems to only notice a woman once she has become attached to another man. Far from heartbroken, he decides that this is the season that he will find the perfect woman. While visiting his club he sees Quorndon and learns that he will probably be married soon to Lucinda, as his mother believes they will be a good match, their conversation is overheard by Rothwell, who immediately asks Gerald to watch out for his sister. Gerald agrees thinking that it will give him a chance to meet potential brides.
When Lucinda meets Gerald, she is smitten, he is perfect for her! But she has promised to meet Quorndon and hopes that he inspires the same level of interest. He does not and now Lucinda has to find a way out of this arrangement. As luck would have it she meets the perfect woman for Quorndon in the form of Miss. Arabella Marlowe - who is just as interested in him as he is in her. She suggests an outing and invites Gerald along. It is clear that Arabella and Quorndon are a perfect match, but Gerald does seem to see that Lucinda is his perfect mate as well.
As the weeks pass and they spend more time together, she knows that she is in love with him, but has no idea what his feelings are or how to find out, but when her mother informs her that she will be announcing her betrothal to Quarndon in a week, she will have to gather up all her courage and ask him or lose the one man she may not be able to live without.
Even when their true feelings are revealed, they will still have to overcome their mother's disapproval before they can have their HEA.
I thought this was a very sweet story and I loved Lucinda and Gerald - but I will admit that I thought Gerald was dumber than a box of rocks more than once and more than a little dense. He was perfectly charming and I enjoyed his interactions with Lucinda, but it was like he refused to see what was right in front of him - this was not your typical hero denial - he really came across as obtuse and a little slow on the uptake. However, he manages to pull his head out of his butt and realize that Lucinda is the woman he has always wanted before it is too late. I got a kick out of his mother and how well she played him :) This was well written, fast paced, easy to read story with a little bit of steam at the end and not a whole lot of drama. I really enjoyed the book and would be happy to recommend, it is part of the Worthington series, but it could be read as a stand alone with no problems at all.
*I am voluntarily leaving a review for an eARC that was provided to me by NetGalley and the publisher.*
Lucinda is having her coming out season and bringing her mother to the city with her, albeit begrudgingly as her sponsor, brings both happiness and stresses. Her Brother and Sister in Law lend help where they can but ultimately it is up to Lucinda to navigate this new normal. When her mother declares her having chosen Lucinda’s husband that was enough to motivate Lucinda to master her own destiny.
Gerald is a friend of Rothwell, Lucinda’s brother, and when asked to keep his eye out for Lucinda agrees without hesitation. He doesn’t quite expect to find himself attracted to Lucinda in the process. When Lucinda lets him in on her plan to find a better match for her intended he isn’t sure how to feel. He finds himself more taken by Lucinda day after day but can’t see a way to find out if the attraction is reciprocated.
Gerald and Lucinda work together to bring couples together who were meant for each other to begin with. Together they make a great working team in each area of life special to themselves. This was the first novel I’ve read by Ms Quinn. I love historical pieces and this one does not disappoint. It flowed well and I loved all the historical references, as well as the explanations of historical situations at the end of the book. I received an advance copy from Netgalley without expectation for review. Any and all opinions expressed for this 4 solid star read are my own.
This is my fair and honest review in return for this ARC. story was well written but in my opinion, it was a bit lackluster. I would have preferred a bit more oomph.
This novella in Ella Quinn’s “Worthington” series is a light, and light-hearted read. Lucinda and Gerald are a well matched pair, which is apparent to everyone but their parents. They both like to ride, get up early in the morning, and they both admire intelligence (not necessarily in that order of importance…) At only a little over a hundred pages, we really only have time to meet them and the background characters (who are familiar to readers of the other Worthington books), and watch them fall in love.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Gerald, Earl Elliott, has finally decided to marry. Unfortunately, he seems only to fall for a lady once she is engaged to another. When his close friend, the Duke of Rothwell, asks him to look out for his sister, Lady Lucinda Hughlot, during her first London Season, Gerald is happy to oblige. Yet he’s completely oblivious to Lucinda’s growing attraction to him.
Lucinda is thrilled to finally be having her Season, however her mother the dowager duchess has decided an arranged match will cover her chaperoning duties. Lucinda, however, is far from pleased with her mother’s choice of the Marquis of Quorndon especially with her heart set on Lord Elliott. There is only one solution: Lucinda will find a lady for Quorndon.
This is the 5.5 book in the series, it could easily be read on its own as a delightful long novella but if like me you love the Worthington’s you love this as Rothwell & Louisa feature quite a lot, it takes place the year following their marriage. I also liked that there were cameo appearances from some of the characters from the Marriage game series. I read the book in a sitting & thoroughly enjoyed it. The pace is very good, the characters are well fleshed & likeable. There's no intrigue no kidnapping just some manipulative mothers & a lovely romance Elliott & Lucinda are perfect for each other but Elliott is slow to realise where his heart lies. A warm hearted captivating read.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
‘The Worthingtons’ series continues with Lucinda, the Duke of Rothwell’s sister, ready to begin her season in London; however, this is overshaded by her mother, trying to marry her off before the season can begin. Fortunately for Lucinda, her brother and sister-in-law, are determined that she should have the time to meet as many suitors as possible before a decision is made. The Duke of Rothwell asks his friend Gerald (Earl Elliott) to watch over Lucinda, to prevent any unsavoury characters from disrupting her season. It soon becomes obvious that a friendship and romance begins between them.
This was a lovely story, but I do feel that the romance was a bit rushed towards the end. Gerald questions his feelings for Lucinda and whilst he is confused over his jealous response to other possible suitors, it quickly moves into marriage but seem a bit too quick.
I received an advanced review copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
I’ll Always Love You is a novella and part of the wonderful Worthington Series. Gerald, Earl Elliott, has been a minor but important part of the series. He is handsome and to be admired with a somewhat demanding mother. Lucinda, our sweet heroine, has her own demanding mother. These two are in love, but it takes a bit to get them to their HEA. Lucinda’s mother plans an arranged marriage with another gentleman so she does not have to go out in to society.
Lucinda is having none of that and makes plans of her own. Gerald, thank goodness, goes along with them without realizing he is being chased. Lucinda helps her almost betrothed other gentleman into a betrothal of his own so she can pursue Gerald.
It is all a sweet HEA for many reasons that will keep you turning the pages of this short and entertaining book. Any book by Ella Quinn makes for delightful afternoon reading!
I'll Always Love You (The Worthingtons, #5.5) by Ella Quinn ....Great job Ella...I loved this story and as always hated to put it down... Thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me preview it. This is Gerald (Earl Elliott and Lucinda's brothers best friend) and Lucinda's(getting her first season after her fathers death) story.... Her mother wants to arrange a marriage for her to get things over with... Lucinda wants her season and to find a love match... Gerald is helping her brother watch over her and the man her mother picks is not to her liking.... This is a fun adventure to get the their HEA and I am looking forward to BELIEVE IN ME which will be Phineas and Augusta's story.
I'm always happy to see a new Ella Quinn book, I'm a fan (ok, uberfan). Although I'll Always Love You is part of the Worthington series, it works well as a stand alone tale. We have a story about one of the secondary characters from other Worthington books. He's been in the background long enough. This man was so likeable that you wanted him to have his own happily ever after and Ms. Quinn delivers. I'll Always Love You will be on the shelves of your favorite bookseller on 11-27-2018.
Our hero is Gerald, Earl Elliott and he really is a hero. You can always count on Gerald. The Duke of Rothwell (It Started With A Kiss) askes his friend, Earl Elliott, to help watch over his sister during her first season on the marriage mart. Since Gerald is titled, handsome, and single, he's a favorite of ton hostesses. You can bet he'll be at every event and Rothwell's request should be a piece of cake (ha, ha). The Duke invites Gerald to tea so he can meet the lady he's agreed to keep out of trouble. Our Earl has decided being bummed about his bad luck with the ladies won't get him a wife. He's got to get back out there and keep his eyes open for the right woman.
Lady Lucinda Hughlot is our heroine. She's the Duke's younger sister and excited about having fun and dancing the night away at loads of balls. Her mother is still embarrassed about a scandal involving her late husband and doesn't want to go out in society. She comes up with an engagement to the son of a friend, conveniently sparing her being her daughter's chaperone. After meeting said Marquis, Lucinda knows they would never suit and she needs to find him another bride. Self-preservation is a powerful motive. Rothwell is not happy, at all, when he finds out what their mother has done. Mom finally agrees to a shortened season before the engagement is announced. Lucinda better get to it, pronto.
Tea that afternoon proves to be an eye opening experience. There's a warmth rather than sparks but it's enough to interest our couple in pursuing the feeling. Lucinda is floored to find Gerald is a real looker. He's tall with broad shoulders, mahogany hair, deep blue eyes and the cherry on top...a dimple. I'd be interested too. Gerald is taken aback by how lovely Lucinda is. She has glossy chestnut hair, sea green eyes, a perfect oval face and...she's smart. As they interact during the course of this journey, the attraction grows and Gerald is reluctant to get involved with his friend's sister, but he'd sure like to. Lucinda has no such qualms and sets her cap for the hot Earl.
A suitable lady is found for the Marquis and hey, he likes her! We get a reticent man, a determined lady, 2 engagements, one confrontation with the mothers and a Paris honeymoon. The Dowager Duchess of Rothwell does not take the news well, she looks like she sucked on a lemon. She comes around in the end, thank goodness.
As this is a romance book there is a happy ending (yea Gerald). We'd be disappointed if there wasn't. Receiving a free book ARC is a true privilege and one I certainly enjoy. Being able to share my opinion is a pleasure. Both are free and without obligation. Happy reading.
When it comes to love, there’s never a dull moment in the Worthingtons’ extended family circle . . .
After all, it will put him even more conveniently in the way of eligible ladies. Yet he’s completely oblivious to Lucinda’s growing attraction
to him . . .
Lucinda is thrilled to finally be having her Season. Her mother would be thrilled as well except for the scandal the late duke caused before his death. To avoid gossip, the dowager duchess has decided an arranged match will cover her chaperoning duties. Lucinda, however, is far from pleased with her mother’s choice of the Marquis of Quorndon—especially with her heart set on Lord Elliott. There is only one solution: Lucinda will find a lady for Quorndon. Then she will convince Lord Elliott of their love—and together they will convince her mother. All it will require are good theatrical skills—and a very genuine kiss . . .
My Thoughts:
Ella Quinn has written another enjoyable romance in this latest novella in the Worthington's series.
I'll always love you is Lucinda's brief journey to love.
Determined to have the man of her own choosing Lucinda just can't see herself tied to the man her mother wants for her for the rest of her life. Therefore after meeting the man she concocts a scheme to find someone else for him. Sooner than expected that very lady falls right into Lucinda's lap.
Now with that little obstacle out of the way she can get down to the business of the man she really wants.
I read this lovely novella in one sitting. The language is very true to the times and although I would have liked the story to be more fleshed out, I found the characters to be delightful.
I gave this short read 4.45 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization. This is a mostly sweet novella with limited intimacy as would be expected in the time frame of this book.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book to read from the publisher via NetGalley. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Ella Quinn’s sprightly novella, I’ll Always Love You provides a charming early winter distraction for fans of her Worthingtons series.
Lady Lucinda Hughlot is struggling to find proper sponsorship for her first Season in the wake of her father’s death. Her mother, hoping to dispense with her guardianship duties and return quickly to their country manor, arranges a match for Lucinda with the Marquis of Quorndon, son of her oldest friend, believing he’ll be the perfect match for her daughter.
Lucinda has dreamt for years of having a season and of finding love, but although Quorndon is indeed a nice enough gentleman, he’s too flawless, too perfect and there’s no ‘spark’ between them.
Gerald, Earl Elliott, is dealing with the demands of his recently widowed mother, who wants to remodel their entire London home according to her taste. Once he marries he plans to live his own life and travel frequently – his mother will then have her own dower house – but until then he caters to her whims. Marriage has much been on his mind lately, but he has a tendency to fall for the wrong women – usually those who’ve been recently engaged or married. When Lady Lucinda comes to town, Gerald is happy to watch over her as a favor to a friend, completely unaware of the fact that Lucinda has always carried a torch for him. Now that they’re regularly thrown together, her crush is only growing and he is alarmingly aware of his own growing feelings for Yet Another Engaged Woman.
Lucinda gets to work to find Quorndon a true love match to get her out of the betrothal while trying to ignore her attraction to Gerald, while Gerald tries to work out how he can woo her without upsetting Lucinda’s mother or angering the close friend who asked him to look out for her.
Lucinda is bright and mischievous in the Emma mold; she knows her fate is marriage and a family, but she’ll be damned if she won’t be with someone who, at the very least, likes to go horseback riding and admires art as much as she does. She’s worth rooting for, and definitely worth falling in love with.
As poor, semi-luckless Gerald quickly discovers! He knows how to commandeer his fate, if not his heart (and certainly not the spirited Lucinda), and watching him try to figure out where his loyalties and his affections lie is quite a lot of fun. He’ll do anything for Lucinda, no matter what.
The romance is wonderfully paced in general. Gerald catches up to Lucinda’s crush quickly enough, and the two of them try to fight through it, but naturally they succumb, falling for each other during visits to Almacks, rides in the park and trips to museums. It’s a love built on commonality as well as attraction, and eventually it’s impossible to deny that they belong together.
Our supporting characters are fun – fussy Quordon and his eventual squeeze, a spinster who yearns for a kind man draw sympathy from the reader, and Lucinda’s mother remains the same overbearing, well-meaning but ridiculous woman she was in the previous three books. I was disappointed that Gerald’s mother came off as more bloodless in the end, but she’s a very minor part of the story.
My principal complaints are that the plot resolution feels somewhat rushed and so does does the novella’s sole sex scene, which seems to have been plugged into the proceedings in order to fulfill its sensuality level instead of the demands of the plot. I know that it’s a novella and thus must be brief, but our idyll with Lucinda and Gerald was so enjoyable that they deserved better pacing.
A fun and entertaining story that doesn’t quite work as a standalone, there’s an appealing lightness to I’ll Always Love You. It’s downright adorable as a comedy of manners, and very entertaining as a romance.

I just loved this book! I think it is now my absolute favorite! The author's characterization skills are phenomenal. She has the knack of being able to make her characters very realistic. No cookie-cutter characters here. They are not all sweet and full of fluff. No there are some mean ones, some very stubborn ones, some pathetically clueless ones, as well as strong and forthright ones. This just makes the conflict in the story that much more real, which, in turn, makes the resolution of the conflict Thank you Netgalley for letting me read it
