I really wanted to like this....a sci-fi retelling of PP seemed like a fun story. It just didn't work for me...maybe I should have been ticked by Hook's name as a Star Trek nerd, but it actually put me off and made me feel from the start it wasn't original.

Due to a passing in the family a few years ago and my subsequent health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for years after the bereavement. Thank you for the opportunity.

Ahhhhh - I am in love with this re-telling of Peter Pan!! It is Sci-Fi and while I am not usually a huge fan of this genre, this book makes that statement a liar out of me! If all of the Sci-Fi books were written like author J. M. Sullivan wrote this one then this would instantly become my favorite genre!

I love the fact that Wendy is the Captain and that she is a kick a$$ chick! I love that we get to have the story told to us from both Peter and Wendy's perspective and I love that the author uses the original story but amps it up and makes it something original and at the same time something unique but still true to the story that we have all heard growing up!

In case you didn't realize by now, I LOVED this book! What I didn't love was the ending....I NEED book 2 now, I need to know what is going to happen next, I want the rest of the story!! Just be aware that once you are finished reading that you are going to want to start this one again while you impatiently wait for the next book! You will zoom through the pages of this book so fast, that you will need to re-read it to see what you missed the first time (and trust me, you missed stuff).

My first and not at all my last book by author J. M. Sullivan! An amazing read from all aspects! A must add to your TBR list and move it to the top of that list!!!

DNF at 25%. It's been over four years since I received this ARC. I gave it a go and have decided it is not for me. It interested me then and no longer does now.

JM Sullivan has a unique writing style. I enjoyed this book just as much as I enjoyed her ither retellings.

I loved this sci fi retelling of Peter Pan! The Jolly Roger, captained by the legendary James Hooke, has been missing for over 100 years when a distress transmission out of nowhere gets through to the Londonierre Brigade. Wendy Darling, who has worked her way up in the ranks of the Brigade, is given her own ship and crew (which includes Johns and Michaels, who are like brothers to her) and sent on a rescue mission to bring Captain Hooke and the crew of the Jolly Roger home. But all is not as it seems where the legendary Captain is concerned - just ask Fleet mechanic Peter Pan!

What an interesting retelling! I loved how elements of the original Peter Pan story were incorporated into the sci fi setting of this book. Pan was without a doubt my favorite character, and I loved the interplay between him and Wendy. The characters were all well written and multidimensional, and the plot was engaging. The world building was phenomenal, as well.

All in all, I enjoyed this book very much and look forward to continuing the story in book two.

5/5 stars.

*** I would like to thank NetGalley, Bleeding Ink Publishing, and J.M. Sullivan for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Sci-Fi x Fantasy x Peter Pan Retelling.

There is a little bit of everything here. It's a Peter Pan retelling, set in space, with a fantasy element, and a romance between Wendy and Peter. It's a fresh perspective and an interesting adventure.

I love fairytale retellings. That being said, this was not a fairytale retelling for me. I did not end up enjoying the sci-fi spin to the story. The concept sounded interesting and for someone who enjoys sci-fi, I would definitely recommend this book, but for me it was a no.

SciFi is a hard hit or miss with me but to see it used in a retelling such as Peter Pan is amazing. I loved seeing a world we know already built in a different atmospheric light. Very comparable in a good way to The Lunar Chronicles.
Seeing Wendy trained as a soldier to be a captain of her own crew to save Hooke is very interesting and I'm ready to keep going with this series.

I loved this book! Review to come when I can form some coherent thoughts!!

This was such a good sci-fi retelling of Peter Pan. I liked that it was a little more grown up since Wendy & Peter are around nineteen years old. The story was enjoyable to read & I would recommend it to anyone that likes this genre & fairytale retelling; & it’s still a great read for students too.

This was an enjoyable and creative retelling of Peter Pan! It reminded me a bit of Cinder, in that it was a sci fi version of the well-known classic. Well written, looking forward to book two.

This one is perfect for fans of Peter Pan and are looking for a retelling. The writing was good and the story had an interesting spin on the classic Peter Pan. I'm not sure why but I didn't finish the novel. I would still recommend it. I think I am just not a fan of retellings. It's likely because I already know the story line and so I'm not as captivated.

The idea of a Sci-Fi Peter Pan sounded very interesting to me and I did enjoy this book quite a bit. It was more fun than I was expecting.

Give me all the Peter Pan!
This is so exciting that all these authors are taking classics and putting new twists and spins on them. Peter Pan was a child hood favorite and I’m loving all the tales. This was such a gorgeous cover that plays well for the adaptation, the characters old and anew are washed with whimsy and love ability. Eager for the conclusion to see where this author takes us

Cool as far as the retelling parallels went, sub-par as far as the writing. Far too many Oohs and aaahs over Peter's mossy green eyes and his red hair, or Wendy's looks, or the connection/spark/whatever each felt for the other. Which is sad, because I love a good Peter Pan retelling. And the John/Michael/lost boys were pretty cool, and SMEE was such a good idea, and the "mermaids," and Tink . . . but the writing just let it all down for me.

I really enjoyed this interesting take on my favorite classic of all time ‘peter pan’. There were so many different elements woven together to take you on an amazing adventure! Highly recommend!

This book was very clerverly written! I must say that first and foremost because it deserves to be noted.
The characters were all likeable and I didnt hate a single one. This futuristic retelling brings an amazing spin to the story like its never been told before.
The pace of the book itslef was a lot slower than I thought it would be. I defonitely would have enjoyed it a little more if it moved faster or at least if there was more action in the mix and not just thrown in the end.
I would still recommend this to anyone who appreciates fairytale retellings. Especially if you enjoy some sci-fi!

This was actually a really cool book. The writing style was somewhat lacking, but the plot and characters kept me invested. I loved the romance between Peter and Wendy, as well as the concept of a futuristic science fiction Peter Pan. Peter Pan retellings are something I never get tired of, and I may be looking for a copy of the sequel to this at some point.

DNFed at 60%. While this book was really interesting at first, my interest waned as time went on. Took me six months to realize this. :/
