This is my first book by this author so I didn't know what to expect.

The premise of the book is making a deal with the devil to save someone you love. But that's where you leave it behind. The beginning of the book took some work to get into as I found myself rolling my eyes quite a bit at the explanation of the devil and his fall. Once I was settled into the book and the characters took on more dimension, I was completely hooked. So much so that I cried. I wasn't expecting it.

There were quite a few lines that spoke to me, "When you lose your grace, you feel an invisible weight pressing down on you, a hollowness." Or, "It’s so easy to become blinded by rage and hatred and forget to see beauty.” There were a few more but these are my favorites.

I loved the concept of this book and I loved how the author developed the characters and let us see them grow.

I didn't care for the ending, to be honest. I'm not going to give it away, but I felt completely disconnected from the characters I had just grown to love.

.5 stars. Paranormal is not a genre I typically read or enjoy, but the blurb for this book was intriguing so I gave it a try.

Overall, I liked the story and the romance was hot. I could have used a little more detail and explanation around the ending. I also thought the whole pineapple thing was weird. That said, Lucien’s struggle with his feelings for Diana while being the devil and her struggle to fulfill a bargain to save her dad made for a really great read.

Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley.

I didn't care for this book. I loved the premise but the follow through didn't measure up. I was really psyched for this book but i just couldn't get into it. Didn't like the hero much and the heroine was ok but she didn't resonate with me.

Diana didn't think she made a deal with the devil to save her father's life, but she did. What he wants from her is her soul, and every Friday night for the next three months for sex. It's meant to be kinky and over the top, but apparently there's more to both of them than they thought.

While this is classified as erotica, this book is essentially a rom com with lots of lovingly detailed sex. Most erotica novels seem short on plot and can get almost boring with how it's only a setup for more sex scenes. Here, we get a look into Diana's family and friendships, and we even see into the devil's conflicted feelings as he falls in love with her. The entire story was lots of fun to read.

It was a cold and very windy day, and husband was busy and I needed warmed up!

Once in awhile I like (okay, LOVE) to read Erotica.

I browsed Amazon and nothing was getting my attention.

So, as a member of Net Galley, I hoped over there, went under the Erotica section and checked out the books available in the Read Now area.

It’s where you can download and read a book instantly without having to wait for a Publishers permission.

This book is amazing even if you don’t like erotica.

In fact, this book was so well written, that if you want to skip the naughty bits, it will not ruin the story for you at all.

But come on, enjoy those naughty bits!

I am currently getting ready to download more of her books.

Her writing is crisp, clean and on point. She doesn’t waste a single word and she doesn’t put in any filler.

She is so creative! I mean, WOW!

The entire story is simply amazing!

REMEMBER HER NAME! EMMA CASTLE!

I received a free eBook of Midnight with the Devil from Ms. Castle via Netgalley, and this is my honest review. This is the first book of Ms. Castle's that I have read. While visiting her father at the hospital, Diane meets Lucien (Lucifer) in the hospital's chapel where she blindly wishes for a miracle that could save her father from his imminent death. Lucien answers Diana's wish while offering her a deal. She must spend every Friday from midnight to dawn with him for his pleasure for three months, and when she dies, her soul will belong to Lucien, and in return her father will be completely healed. Diana and Lucien seal the deal with a kiss. As Diana spends time with Lucien, she learns that there is more to him than just corruption and hell. Lucien learns that not all mortals are evil or corrupt. Diana soon finds that she enjoys spending time with Lucien, both in and out of the bedroom. Lucien learns that Diana is slowly infiltrating his mind and feelings. As they get to know each other better, will Diana be able to openly and truthfully love Lucien and he in return or will Lucien leave Diana and break her heart?

I absolutely fell in love with this story. Ms. Castle portrays Lucifer as not only the King of Hell, but there's also glimpses of his former angelic self. Diana is a young lady who knows the value of love and being selfless, but she also learns to be honest and true with herself. The plot kept me captivated, and I did not want this to end. I was initially intrigued with a tale of a deal with the devil, but Ms. Castle captured many different aspects of life and loss. love and hatred, and heaven and hell that had me guessing where she will take me next. I highly recommend this to those 18+ due to sexual content and some mild violence. Thank you Ms.Castle and Netgalley for introducing me to this new wonderful book. I look forward to reading more of your work.

I really enjoyed this book! Before starting the book, I was worried that I wouldn't like the main protagonist as much as I did, but surprise! I did! Lucien turned out to be way more fun than I thought for the Devil. Overall, it was an enjoyable book.

Emma Castle has conjured up a sweet, romantic, and sinfully sexy book. The book follows Lucien Star, your Devil on Earth, and Diane after she strikes a crossroads deal. The terms? Her father’s life for 3 months’ worth of Fridays filled with hot, sweaty sex.
I was pleasantly surprised that the author eased us into the contract relationship between Diane and Lucien. Rather than coming off as a creep, Lucien was appropriately seductive and yet still respecting Diane’s reservations. The sexy scenes were on fire. I think my favorite scenes were the explicit dreams before the first Friday she spent with Lucien.
That said, I wish there was more time spent showing the reader Diane’s dark desires and the exploration rather than just telling us they exist. As far as I could tell there was a bit of domination, tying up and spanking which is hardly dark. I imagine that is fairly common in many couple’s bedroom play.

This is an excellent choice if you desire an erotic break from your latest read or cure to a book hangover. I will be keeping an eye on Ms. Castle’s future work.

Diana is in the hospital chapel on the last night of her father's life when the devil offers her a deal. Sell your soul and I will save your father. It's an intriguing storyline. It's got that forbidden fruit aspect that I have to admit is what drew me in.

I've never read this author before so I took a gamble to see if this could be something for me. I enjoy a dark read, but not too dark. Having Satan as the Hero, the author could take this to the darkest level she wanted to.

I've found that I like Emma Castle's writing and the way she can tell a story. However, I was surprised to find that this book wasn't dark at all. It's actually a very safe read. I did enjoy the way the book turned out and I wasn't expecting that ending.

It's actually a very sweet love story. I think that sweetness took the forbidden aspect that drew me in the first place, out of the equation. I wanted this to be just a tad bit darker and for Lucian to have more of a dark intensity to him and how he was with Diana.

I think expectation can change how you view a book so if you're expecting dark, this is not it. I would like to come back to this book another time and re-read it. I think going in knowing how sweet it is, I'll enjoy it more the second time around. ARC provided by NetGalley.

I normally don't read this type of story. Sadly, four chapters in I remembered why. It's just too typical. Now the story was interesting and a quick read. I'm more of an intellectual reader. I don't much like stories that kind of stick to a pattern. Desperate girl, super hot guy who is also the devil, deal with the devil, etc. See where this is going? Me too. Fans of this kind of story will enjoy this one. I'm not a fan. #netgalley #midnightwiththedevil #emmacastle #goodreads #bookstagram #www.instagram.com/jypsylynn

Blurb:
He’s sexy as sin and hotter than hell and—oh wait.

What would you do to save a loved one’s life? Make a pact with the Devil?

In Diana Kingston’s defense, it was the middle of the night in the deserted hospital chapel… surely it was just a dream. She hadn’t really sold herself to a brooding stranger to save her father’s life, right? Then she wakes and her father is fully recovered and a mysterious letter arrives from the tall, dark, handsome—um, Devil? Yep, it was right there on the contract, Lucien Star, aka Lucifer Morningstar, that had been his name in the dream… Gulp. What would the Devil himself want with her? Sex. Three months of hot, sweaty, Friday night sex.

Ooookay. Breaking a pact with the Devil doesn’t seem like a smart move. So she’ll do it—but she won’t like it. Not much anyway. But she starts liking it – a lot—and every night they spend together, she likes it and Lucien a little more. Being with him allows her naughty side to come out and play, but Diana starts to see more than just a sexy-as-sin, rock-hard … er…Anyway, he might be Satan, but even he was an angel once. Kind. Noble. And she sees glimpses of that man still inside him… But how in Heaven’s name do you save the Devil from himself?
Review, spoilers!!!:
It all started deliciously dirty and just when I was sure I would get an HEA, I sorta didn`t. The book has a great HEA, but not really. Let me explain…
The Devil and his pray meet. She sells her soul for her father`s health. She has to be his pet for 3 months (only on Friday), but they get to close and fall in love… This weakens the Devil.
He gets a second chance, but they don`t remember how they really met and what they went through.
What I liked:
A delicious devilish devil. What more does a girl want.
What I didn`t like:
This book made me cry….
Favourite quote/lines in book:
“The devil doesn’t` do dishes,” he replied airily, but his lips twitched.
God, I`m going to need some serious therapy. I had sex with the devil, and I liked it.

This book had such a fun, sexy premise—like Faust meets Fifty Shades of Grey.
Lucien Star is Lucifer—he of the fallen angel fame—now the devil, ruler of hell and corrupter of souls. Enter Diana, a pure soul “ripe for plucking” and an erotic challenge to the bored devil. The two represent the story’s battle of good vs. evil: Lucien’s dominance tempts Diana, whose hope and light contrasts with, yet also attracts, Lucien’s darkness.

While the story starts paranormal, it quickly loses the “para” part of the romance and shifts instead to one of domestic normalcy. As a result, the story lacks motivation and conflict… and so does its characters. The book ends abruptly with an okay HEA, but without the emotional punch that could have been possible had there been a little bit more “para” and a lot less “normal.”

5 Off The Chart Stars

ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review- opinions are my own !!

I LOVED THIS BOOK !!

What initially attracted me to the book was that it sounded like Lucifer a fav TV show I’ve been a fan of for a few yrs now! Regardless this book is just fabulous!!

Based on the fall from grace of Lucifer (aka Lucien - The Morning Star ) from heaven to hell stripped of his angels wings - living between both worlds with mere mortals ...

Diana makes a plea that her dying father be spared & there in begins the relationship between Lucien & Diana as she makes a pact with the devil 3 months of doing his bidding & her father’s life will be spared ...

I read this book in one sitting as I was SO enthralled with the storyline!! Loved the characters - the sharp - snarky dialog - clearly funny at times - just a highly entertaing - sexy 5 Star read !! Can’t wait to check out this author’s other work !!

You will not be able to wait to see what happens when Diana literally gets in bed with the devil 😈 🔥😈

Highly recommend this great read !!

On this rainy day I wanted something light and sexy to read and I found that this ARC of Midnight With The Devil was quite an enjoyable way to pass the time! Read this sweet romance in one sitting and, despite the implications of the devil vs everything good hook, it really was more of a cute love story which made me smile at the end.

A steamy smoking hot romance book that will make you breathless. A sexy romance book. I loved the characters. This is my first time reading from this author.

This was such a sweet romance (even if the Devil was the main character)! I wasn't sure how it would have a happy ending but the author did a great job wrapping up the story.

This felt like an original or fresh concept. I didn't think that the motive made much sense though. Choosing to sell your soul to the devil requires more motivation than the heroine faced.

The cover is the first thing that caught my attention. Then I read the synopsis and I was intrigued. Midnight with the Devil is a book that spoke to my Supernatural/Constantine loving heart. There were aspects of this book, especially with the mythology pertaining to Lucifer and angels, that reminded me of Supernatural and Constantine and made me wonder if this book may have started as a type of fan-fic. Regardless, I loved the book! I really enjoyed seeing the relationship develop between Diana and Lucifer. This book is listed as a dark romance, but it wasn’t the kind of dark romance that I’ve read before. There were some light-hearted moments that made me giggle while reading the banter between Lucien and Diana and Lucien engaging in normal human activities. I did feel that the ending was a little rushed because the book skipped a month between the last 2 chapters (not counting the epilogue). I would have liked to see a little more about Lucien and Diana’s relationship, once it became more than just a contract/bargain between them, instead of the couple of sentences in Lucien’s section of Chapter 17. Aside from that, I loved the ending! It was the perfect way to end this book. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Has there ever been a time where you would do anything or give anything in order to save someone you love? This book expertly tackles that very question. Diana is a pure soul, a good girl, who has a father who is ill with colon cancer. The doctors are preparing Diana and her mother for the end of his life. It is during this time that the devil comes to Diana and makes her a deal. He will bring her father back to health and keep him that way for a long life, as long as she will consent to spend every Friday night at the mercy of Lucifer himself for three months. I enjoyed reading this book because it shows Lucifer in a good way. Instead of him being some totally evil psychotic demon, he is shown almost as your typical misunderstood son. He wanted nothing more than to keep being God's favorite and was afraid that humans would take away some of that love, which turned into fear and anger. I enjoyed this book more than I do your typical romance novel because instead of it only being a big lead up to the sex scenes, the action and story never ended and I kept rooting for Lucifer to earn his redemption and be able to stay with Diana and truly feel love again.
