This book, while it's subject is deep and has a lot of pieces to think about, is easy to read. It focuses on 12 different little ideas that we can incorporate and use every day in order to reach more zen moments and be more present in our lives.
Finding your zen can be more difficult than we think because it takes incredible focus, patience and discipline. For example, I went to the tech museum in the Bay Area last weekend and there was this interactive exhibit that tracks people's heart rate and helps you calm and find your zen. It took longer than I thought to reach my zen, but holding your zen for more than a handful of seconds was another feat. This book helps guide you with helpful tips to find your zen and to keep it.
A little reminder that we can all fit in 10 seconds throughout the day,Ten Zen Seconds is a simple and unique way to "stop in your tracks" when stressed out.
In Ten Zen Seconds Eric reminds the reader that all you need is to take a moments of time, 10 seconds, to recent yourself and find that peace in this turbulent world we live in. Eric structures the book with the mantras and mediation practices to use and then fills the book with his personal stories of using the Ten Zen seconds and impact it has made. All very useful and not just fluff around the meat of the actual practices.
The author presents here and amazingly simple way to bring ourselves presence in the midst of any kind of circumstance that causes stress. I have been using these incantations for a few weeks now and I am utterly blown away by their effect on me. Try it and see!
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
