It’s always just been Rowan and her dad. Living in a small town and working at his automotive center while she goes to college, Rowan has never known anything bigger than this. Until she falls in love for the first time. Normally Rowan would never trouble herself with the difficulty of dating someone who works for her dad but when she meets Tyler there is nothing that can tear them apart. Three years later she mysteriously breaks up with Tyler. They are both devastated and the twist is to figure out why. This very simple love story has a sweet romance but very little substance. Cute, easy, light but not really enough to recommend.
I’m torn on what to say about this book. The plot sounded great and I couldn’t wait to dig in. However, I didn’t connect with the characters like I had hoped and that was disappointing.
I think this story had great potential, but I felt it was way too rushed. And when the truth was revealed I was like WHAT?? That’s it? Come on! I think the author could have dug a little deeper into that part. It was like she was ready to finish the book and be done. I wasn’t pleased. There were so many ways she could have written that ending.
I did like the writing style and I was rooting for Rowan in the beginning but then I just got bored with the story. The love scenes did nothing for me…there was no intimacy, romance, etc.
And why didn’t Tyler fight for her when she left? I don’t understand it. And his friends treated her so awful and he just let them. But she kept hanging around them.
Unfortunately, this is one second chance romance I wouldn’t recommend. I may check out another book by this author since I did enjoy her writing style.
This was a very quick easy read. There are a couple of topics that could be sensitive to s reader.
Overall the book was average. Nothing stood out to me. The characters were a little predictable.
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a story of love, sacrifice, selfishness, of an immature couple. Of how the decision of one person can sometimes change and hurt others
The love the have for one and other is a love that only happens once in a lifetime but sometimes that makes people do foolish things in name of that love
This is the story of redemption and forgiveness.
It was bittersweet sweet read. To see two people so in love but with so much hurt and regret inside
Unfortunately this book fell a bit flat. Every “twist and turn” could be seen from a mile away and the characters weren’t very likeable.
