Loved the premise, hated the book. Has a need for a good editor and re-write, as the concept is fantastic, but it dragged...... not my cup of tea.
quite enthralling read and intense characters. It kept me entertained and is well written. Would read more by Shyla Colt.
Overall I found the book "Bad Blood" to be quite interesting. I thought it slowed down mid-way through the book but did pick up towards the end. Good plot
The first book in the Bad duology is a thrilling supernatural read. Keeta and Crewe easily draw readers into their story where readers find themselves engrossed in a fast paced plot that is full of intriguing elements and a world that is different from most other books.
The romance is full of suspense, action and passion as Crewe sets out to train Keeta for the part she plays in a prophecy to restore balance to the new world that she has been thrust into. The attraction that they try to deny steadily grows the more connected they become but both are a bit unsure where it will lead which keeps the emotional turmoil high as it piles onto the danger they face, the secrets that are revealed and a legacy that Keeta never wanted. There is never a dull moment to be found throughout the story as it starts off with adrenaline filled event and continues with lots of action and suspenseful events as their enemies try to stop them and betrayals and surprises keep the couple on their toes. The story concludes with a very exhilarating battle but readers should know that it doesn’t end there as the battle will continue in the next book where the characters set off to find the others that involved in the restoring the balance and I am looking forward to finding out what happens next.
I have read Shyla Colt before. I have very much enjoyed those reads. This one good, yes. Different. Magical. Witchy. Knightly. Supernatural.
I loved getting to know Nakeeta, Crewe, their backup characters. The flavor the supernatural soup that was taking place on the pages. The author did a well balance of romance and urban fantasy. I look forward to seeing where this duology will go. The next book will show more and the discovery of the secrets will be anticipated.
This storyline intrigued me from the beginning. I’ve never read anything like it before and I was so eager to see what would happen.
This book had so much potential but the story felt rushed and lacked depth. Coming out of it I felt like I really didn’t know Keeta or Crewe that well. Which was unfortunate because they are interesting and complicated characters. I really wish more time had been spent developing them.
I will read the second part of this story and I really hope it will leave me feeling more satisfied.
This is the first time in reading this author. Always on the look out for new paranormal fantasy this one caught my eye. Since when I was younger loved to read about knights this one had a plus already with the one in here. In this one Crewe and Nakeeta take you through a thrilling with suspenseful moments pulling at you getaway. Entering in with curiosity you soon forget that being pulled into this that curiosity is feed. Filled also with everything you want in a paranormal with characters that keep you engaged along with the magic that breathes the life into it. Too soon though it is at the end with you left with still some questions so yet again curiosity.
A fast paced magical read with two great leads in Nakeeta and Crewe. Looking forward to finding out what happens next.
After being involved in a accident, Nakeeta wakes up to a life that’s no longer just about herself. She has a hard time adjusting to her new life until Crewe shows her how extraordinary her new path in life could be. With the fate of the world on their shoulders will they succeed at keeping all safe as well as themselves or will they succumb to all the forces that are depending on them to fell.
If you like a good paranormal read I think you’ll enjoy this one. Bad Blood is chock full of vampires, witches, and shapeshifters, Oh My! There’s also mystery, betrayal, and plenty of action mixed in with touches of romance. The heroine and hero are both strong characters so there’s no damsel in distress here, which I loved. Nakeeta and Crewe compliment each other well and help each other to recognize each other’s strengths which is something they will need to win this battle. My only little issue is that it ends right when things were going to the next level. So if you’re okay with series reading make sure you give this one a try. I’m already looking forward to book 2.
A reluctant knight. A magical descendent. A race against time. A freak accident thrusts Nakeeta Alva into a dangerous world of secrets, ancient spells, and a legacy she never wanted. The last in a magical line, she’s tasked with restoring the balance to a supernatural world poised for ruin. Tasked with the care of their savior, Crewe’s main focus is survival. Used to giving orders, the knight isn’t prepared for the sassy witch’s mouth or her lure. The powerful woman reminded him of his humanity and challenged his beliefs. Keeping her safe is his mission, but the real danger may be losing his heart. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Shyla Colt is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work.
