This was a fast read for me. Couldn't put it down. I fell in love with Nico and Emma. I loved how strong Emma was and that after an embarrassing breakup she decided to fix the things she was lacking that her ex fiance told her was reasons for breakup. Nico is her brothers best friend which complicates things not to mention Nico is a sex god and playboy who says he wont ever love any woman. So do you think Emma changed his mind? Got to read to find out. I definitely recommend this book and will definitely be reading more from this author.
I received this book as an advanced readers copy,I loved this book so much. I could not help but to be hooked and there is a new plot in every chapter which made it such an enjoyable read.
This one was a miss for me. I could not get into it. After the first chapter, I knew where this one was headed. There was nothing really new here. It was been one before a million times.
Even though I enjoyed this book, it is not something I would read again. I liked the blurb enough to request it on NetGalley but then it just didn’t deliver.
I don’t mind if there’s sex in the book (at as blurb and title say, you can kind of imagine there will be lots of it), however, I think with too much of it, the story kind of lost its plot. I feel like the author put too much effort on how to make ”bad lessons” even dirtier and not too much on the likeness of story. Even dirty moments were boring to read at some point because there were too many repetitive words.
For example, undulated was mentioned at least five times in the whole book. Surely there’s a synonym?
And what is with naming female parts as kitty? That was mentioned even more times. I cringed every time I read it. I’ve read many books but not one has ever mentioned kitty. It sounds ridiculous.
3 stars.
Translator Emma Cavanaugh will do anything to win her ex-boyfriend back—including summoning her brother's best friend, Italian billionaire and playboy Nico Giordano, to give her much-needed lessons in the art of seducing and pleasing a man. Sex was never her thing, so if anyone is going to know how to teach her how to be bad it'll be Mr. Sex-on-A-Stick himself. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Carmen Falcone is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.
Emma Cavanaugh is desperate to fufill her dream of a steady husband, two kids and two Labrador dogs. The problem is her fiancé of two years has broken it off as there is no sexual spark happening between them. She can’t see what the fuss is about, but is driven to try persuading her brother’s best friend, Nico Giordano, to show her where she’s going wrong. After a series of lessons they both realise they made a mistake thinking it was just going to be a simple task.
I’m really enjoying Carmen Falcone’s Dirty Debts series and its making want to go back to explore her other books. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
There are some plots that I've read more than once and Good Girl's Bad Lessons certainly falls into that. But, really, when the writing is good and a new fresh approach is put on a storyline, it really doesn't matter. I may have read similar storylines where the experienced man teaches the inexperienced woman the ways of lovemaking in the past, but Carmen Falcone's Good Girl's Bad lessons was a new, fresh take on it.
Although Nico, the lead man in this book was a strong alpha male, our heroine, Emma was certainly his match. She may have been a bit backwards in coming forward with her previous fiance, but she was soon able to grow into the perfect match for Nico.
I enjoyed reading about the pair's growing relationship and how they challenged each other to question what they really wanted and what was important. By the end of the book, they had both changed what they really thought mattered and had discovered that they were perfect for one another.
There was a bit of a twist towards the end of the book. I will admit that I saw it coming. I don't think it was completely obvious though, just that a few things pointed in that direction. Overall this was a great read that I really enjoyed.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
So, this book brings the heat and will steam up your screen however, it is more than just heat. Parts of this book could be toned down a little as it gets to be to much fire and we lose the plot context around the characters at different times in the story. Nico is not one to wait for an opportunity to pass him by, he takes advantage of the situation Emma presents him. Their relationship goes from zero to 100 miles per hour in a matter of minutes. It’s a wild and crazy ride. This is a truly unique plot line and these characters are really adventurous in so many ways. This is a fun and easy to read book, it keeps the readers interest with the different plot twist. By the end you are wandering what Nico has up his sleeve and if he will listen to his heart and go for the girl. I love the dog’s part in this book it is super sweet and the line where sometimes dreams change was super cute. Loved the ending and epilogue was great too!
Thanks for a copy of this book.
2.5 This book was really entertaining and sexy ;)
I liked Nico a lot because he showed that he really care about Emma and her feelings. Also, I loved that he always checked to see if she was ok with what they were doing. However, I would like to have seen more depth in him. For instance, a big revelation occurs that should be really shocking to a normal person and Nico did get shocked but not as much as I would expect given the context.
On the other hand, I couldn't quite conect with Emma. She was a nice girl and all but I didn't see why Nico thought she was one of the nicest girl in the world. Except <spoiler>when she quit her job because it would hurt her partner.</spoiler>
The preposition happened so quickly that it took all the sexiness away because there was no leading up to it. It was like "I want to you to teach me to have sex, ok? -Ok" hahaha. However, the first sex scene was my favorite because it was really original, I've never seen that in other books. Although it was super entertaining to read about, the fact that <spoiler>a bald man was watching them have sex, really freaked me out.</spoiler>
One thing that I didn't enjoy because it was a bit unrealistic was that after their first and only fight, his solution was <spoiler>to propose. I know they loved each other but that was really quick.</spoiler>
All in all, it was a fun and easy read but for me it lack depth in some moments and the ending was a little unrealistic. However, if you're looking for a sexy and quick book to read this is the one for you.
After being dumped by her long time boyfriend due to lack of zing in the bedroom Emma turns to family friend Nico Giordano (aka Mr. Sex-on-A-Stick), a well known billionaire and playboy to teach her how to become a sex goddess between the sheets. Good Girl's Bad Lessons has it all, Interesting characters, unique plot and loads of steam. My only complaint was that some of the language describing sex acts seemed a bit crass or juvenile. Overall though a definite 4.5 stars.
This book! This book! Ah-mazing! I cannot express how much I loved this story about Nico and Emma. Emma is Zaine's younger sister, a translator and has her proverbial self together. Until the night her fiancé dumped her after their two year relationship and 2 month engagement because "we have no sexual chemistry" his words. Stunned and every bit of her confidence shot right out the window, she goes home. She's living at her brothers place while he and his fiancé are overseas working. They're due home soon, their marriage soon approaches. Her brother calls his best friend Nico when he gets a call from the alarm company to go and check the house and to make sure Emma is ok. He goes. Emma is half drunk and tells Nico what went down with Simon. Nico convinces her that she just hasn't had the right man and proceeds to show her that she can indeed function fully as a receptive female. Nico has a reputation and a history that is pretty bleak. He's wealthy, never going to have kids and never marry. He is attracted to Emma in a big way but there are all kinds of lines he doesn't want to cross. Emma begs him to give her "lessons" and when Nico finds out that she knows the one man he needs to talk to up close and personal to acquire a piece of property that is pivotal to his youth, he agrees. They spend time together. Lots of hot, steamy, sweaty, someone hose me down time. These two have chemistry in spades and they get along. Emma is kind and generous and while Nico may not always see the best in people Emma helps with that. Emma can't tell him that she is under contract with this elusive man that Nico wants to meet to help him develop an animal sanctuary on his large estate. She signed an NDA. Nico does find out, but as the story unfolds that's the least of his woes. This story was stellar. The writing, the characters, the twists and turns which I left out, it was just perfect. I didn't want it to end. I've loved all the Good Girls books but this is my favorite. It's an absolute must read.
