Funny and clever. Makes you laugh and think too. Your must-read book. Every person - young and old should read it to relax and have good time
Well, I am off.. to finish reading this book and then the other books in this sure to be a romp of a trilogy (based on what I have read of this book so far). So you just have to wait on this ‘quick thoughts’ thing. Just kidding!
Here are my quick thoughts on this book. I first started reading this book a couple of years ago when I first saw it on Netgalley. Unfortunately, I was too late in starting to read it and it expired before I could finish. I recently picked it up again for I needed a dose of hilarity, and I am so glad I did. As the title says, this read is (so far) unbelievably scary (not really!), totally hilarious, quirky, and filled with fun characters as well as so many asides from the author making an appearance in his book (that might be distracting to some readers but adds to the quirkiness). Great for fans of Lemony Snicket.
Disclaimer: I got a digital review copy of this book from Netgalley originally and these are my honest opinions of the book. Please note that the review is based on a more recent reading of the book (library/personal copy)
A fun read for the young readers! Action packed with many laugh out loud moments! Belly laughs heard from the readers!
This is the second book in the Huggabie Falls series.
Three friends, Kipp, Tobias and Cymphany all reside in Huggabie Falls, which is the weirdest town on Earth. And when creepy and scary things start happening to them, they are terrified to confront their fears. Who is behind it all?
My son read this book during the Halloween season and said it was funny, not scary. He liked it but didn't love it. He said he would give the author another chance though.
I had to laugh every time the author questioned why someone would read this book without having read the first one. I'm one of those people he was questioning. Why would I read this book before the first? The book sounded interesting, and I didn't realize it was the second in a series until I was already reading it. Figured I might as well continue.
The good news, even though the author was confused, I'm ready to read the first book now and see how everything started.
This book had a ton of humor that I'm pretty sure I appreciated more as an adult than I would have as a child. The cast of characters in Huggabie Falls is all over the place, in a good way. It's like the opposite of those futuristic books where everyone is the same. I would rather have the variety. It helps keep things unpredictable.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really fun middle grade story about a weird town and three kids that seem to find ways to save the day, regardless of what weird stuff is going on. I loved the humor of the author, and the asides he had within the story. Really fun. Reminded me a bit of Lemony Snicket stories.

I would recommend this book for young fans of Lemony Snicket. The characters have some quirks, the storyline is comical and keeps the reader guessing. From an adult perspective, i found the rambling of the author distracting and I lost interest many times. I know it was intended as comedic, but as an adult I was not into it. This story might be good for young independent readers, or family reading a little bit at a time.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I enjoyed reading this. An interesting story with fun characters. Well written.
This was a super cute book that I originally picked for my 8 year old, but found my 6 year old enjoying just the same. It's often hard to find books that kids enjoy reading or WANT to read, especially boys, but this one did the trick!! The humor in all the "weird" things that start happening in their town of Huggabie Falls is weird...even for them. or is it just normal? The read is not really sure, but it is very comical and enjoyed and I found both of my boys laughing out loud every single time we read it!!
This is a super cute kids book. If you've adopted any of the Captain Underpants books in your classroom, then you will most likely enjoy this book too. This book is great for those children who want something a little scary. This book is more mysterious than actually scary. I enjoyed the plot, and I discovered this is the sequel to another book in the series. The book includes some humor too. Adopt this book for your classroom and your students will go wild for it.
This book was super enjoyable!
The author tells the story and participates with interjections which I really enjoy and value.
It is a comical story and such a good laugh!
What a wonderful book! Parents spend a lot of time and money trying to get their children to read. They just need to give them these books! I loved the stories but the real experts were the 7 and 8 year olds I read them with. They give them a 10+. A great series to get your kids reading and talking about the stories.
The Unbelievably Scary Thing that Happened in Huggabie Falls book 2 in the Huggabie Falls Trilogy by Adam Cece was a fun entertaining book for children. My Grandsons ages 7 and 11, and I read this book together, and we all three enjoyed it. I recommend this book for children who enjoy funny scary books.

This is book 2 of the Huggabie Falls Trilogy. I did not read the first book before reading this one, however my reading was in no way affected. In book 2, the three friends, Tobias, Kipp, and Cymphany are still trying to rescue their town. Scary things are happening again in their town and it's up to them to find out who is scaring the town's residents before everyone runs away.
When I began this book I was not sure of what to expect. These kinds of books can go either way for me. They could be boring and annoying or funny and interesting. This fell in the second category. For one, it was the perfect length for me. The writing was funny and and quirky in a good way. I just wish the author didn't make so many appearances in the book. It felt at times like he was a character in the book. That is how present he was.
All in all this was a very enjoyable book to read. As I write this, I've already read it twice and I may start it again once my long pending book list is finished.
I enjoyed the story and I really like the illustrations which complemented the story well. This is the second book in the Huggabie Falls trilogy and I’ll be looking forward to reading more of these books. I highly recommend to young readers.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Text Publishing for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
Duly chastised by the author in the 1st chapter, I will look for the 1st book! It seems as though the book 2 can read pretty well as a stand alone, tho'. Middle grade kids, 4th , maybe 3rd grade and up will find this book a hoot! lots of fast paced action and lots of laugh! Love the shark in the bank vault! I bet kids will, too.
