I threw an impromptu romance-a-thon this weekend and The Whole Package was the third book I read in my marathon. Unfortunately this one didn’t really work for me. There were many awkward parts where the characters (or the writing) felt like they were trying too hard. I did like the idea of a moving company that revolves around hiring and helping vets. But the story and characters get a solid meh from me.
Reid Griffith owns a moving company, Vets On The Go, with his brother and cousin. While doing a move his brothers crew stops a robbery which draws media attention to them. The business is growing too fast to handle. Naomi Starr has started her own PR company and sees the coverage. She wants to handle his PR. There is an immediate attraction, but Naomi has been burned before by a work relationship.
I loved the back and forth dialogue between the characters. This was a fast easy romance. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
A plot about vets naturally lured me in. The humor and sparks between Naomi and Reid kept me there. But it was the personalities and relationship between two brothers, Cash and Reid, that melted my heart. You want the happy ending not because it’s a romance, but because Reid deserves true love. Now all I need is Cash’s happy ending!
The Whole Package was a sweet and fun romance that tugged at your heart more than once. Reid ans Naomi were absolutely wonderful together and complimented each other so well. It was touching how supportive they were to each other m. I enjoyed the banter they had with each other and the secondary characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next in this series.
I have enjoyed everything I've ready by Marie Harte and this book was no different. It's about two people not looking for a relationship that find the one person that makes everything a little easier to bear. It's been done before but never better than this. I also enjoyed the cameo from two former military gym owners as I'm sure will other fans of Marie Harte.
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
The Whole Package is the first in the Movie On series, and it was so worth the wait! Full of the fun and flirty witty banter Marie Harte is known for, this book was on point. Reid Griffith is a vet who is the caretaker of his family, and has started a moving business to help take care of them. When some video of his company goes viral, PR guru Naomi Starr steps up and offers her services. They have instant chemistry, but Naomi has made some bad decisions in the past concerning me, and doesn't know if she can trust her feelings. I absolutely loved this book, and is you've ever read Marie's books, you will too. And if you haven't, this is a good place to start!
Reid and Naomi meet when she offers the services of her PR and marketing company to his new moving business. Both believe that they are too busy running their businesses for a relationship, but both eventually realize that sometimes a relationship develops unexpectedly. Both are struggling with issues from their pasts, Naomi with an inferiority complex when compared to her older siblings and a relationship that went bad, and Reid with a dysfunctional family and the impending death of his mother. Despite these issues, they do eventually get it all together, large cast of secondary characters filled out the story too, which makes me wonder if we might have a series in the making.
Loved the premise, loved th story, loved Naomi and Reid. I just simply loved everything about this book!
3.5 stars
My first time reading Marie Harte and I found this book really enjoyable.
What I liked:
The Alpha men with soft hearts.
The characters and characterization in general.
Reid, a blue-collar hero.
A veteran hero who isn’t a wounded hero.
The whole concept of the moving company hiring veterans.
Anti-gender stereotype tendencies.
The affections; the strong bond between brothers Reid/Cash.
The writing style; the sense of humor.
Alpha, brawny men are not my favorite characters, but the guys from Vets on Go are irresistible and I’m dying to read Cash’s story, he’s such a complex character.
The heroine – strong, competent, liberated – was a great counterpart for Reid, although her almost perfect family and villain former boyfriend felt a bit over the top.
This book had a great description and seemed to sound awesome. Add in the picture from the cover and I thought I had a winner on my hands. However, sadly, I just couldn't get into this one. I tried, I really did try.
Reid was awesome. I really liked him. Naomi was okay. I didn't like or dislike her.
And Cash, I would love to read his book! Hope he doesn't disappoint. :)
Overall, I might recommend this book. I have enjoyed previous books by this author.
I love Marie Hart and I enjoyed this book as I did her others.. We meet the Vets on the go when Cash and Hector are captured beating the crap out of some thieves and they were on t.v. and Reid is having a fit til he sees segmant and there business is taking off. Here comes Naomi who is a PR rep and just opened up her new PR firm since her exboyfriend fires her when she started to do better than him and she needs the business and she is going to go after Vet on the go. When Reid and Naomi take a look at each other they are instantly attracted and who wouldn't like a hot Marine?..Fun book, Enjoy!
Loved this book, the story of Reid and Naomi. They are attracted to each other as soon as they meet, but determined not to mix business and pleasure, Naomi won't let anything happen between them, but how long for?
Can't wait to read the rest of the series!
I am a big fan of this authors stories. One thing to know is her books are HOT. Burn your KIndle hot! They take place in Seattle and odds are high you will run into characters from other books around town. They are not connected but its cool seeing new characters interact with older characters.
This is a new series about a Veteran Moving Company run by the hero, Reid. Read is hot and smart and he is a former marine who started the company to employ other vets and his brother Cash who is a little hot headed. Cash ends up on the news one day and that is how Noami hears about their company.
Noami runs a PR company and she goes to Reid and solicits his business. The two start a business relationship but they are very atrracted to the other and have some very HOT times. THe issue between the two is that they work together and Noami really likes to keep business and pleasure separate. Reid meanwhile is very busy with a sick mother and a hot head brother and a new company.
I loved these two teother. Reid and Noami have some major sparks and I loved every second of their story. This is a HOt story but also features great characters and a wonderful storyline and romance. One side thing is that in some parts we hear Cash's views and I loved hearing his thoughts. Looking forward to a story with him in the future.

Well Reid brother cash who is really hot and huge! Gets caught on camera taking down a criminal and it goes viral! They get inundated with tons of business! He needs help handling everything, in walks Naomi, a PR expert! This book had everything! It was really funny, really hot, drama, suspense, action and lots of hot men and women! Definitely don't miss out on this one! Thank you Netgalley and sourcebooks for sharing this book with me!
Marie Harte writes a great romance. She's always worth the read. Our patrons love her contemporary and her paranormal romance series.
