Another book that the reader needs to stick with to fully understand what is going on. The aliens, the Shardies, are never fully explained, but that turns out to be OK. the re-use of Marines throughout the book gets to be confusing but not to much. Just go with it. The timeline could be tightened up a bit with better explanations for progress in the war.
