Determined to discover who’s framing his commander for terrorism, Delta Force captain Joe McVie is faced with a mission unlike any other. One that involves socialite do-gooder Hailey Duvall. But Hailey Duvall isn’t what she seems…which is why someone wants her dead. And why Joe knows he’ll put everything on the line to keep the innocent beauty safe
The book started out good enough. It set to be a good mystery romance. It had a good meet of our main characters. I was able to get through with no problems. But that’s kind of it. It was pretty much a standard read, similar to a number of books I’ve been reading lately.

Delta Force Die Hard (Red, White and Built: Pumped Up Book 3) by Carol Ericson.
It has all the romance, suspense, wit and surprises that we love. Very hard to put down. Joe was my kind of hero. I liked him as soon as he was introduced on the page. Not sure how the author does that. Although she is rich you like Hailey. Her character is revealed through her conversations with Joe.

Joe is Delta Force and trying to find out who framed his commander. In the process he realizes someone is following Hailey. Hailey is a socialite and the daughter of a real estate mogul. She volunteers a lot which is where she experienced her trouble. She was taken hostage and her car had a bomb from before the book starts. During this situation is where Joe’s commander is being accused of being a traitor. Hailey did not see Max but hear someone say his name.

I enjoyed the story and the relationship between Joe and Hailey. I had not read the other books in the series and felt I was able to keep up. However I think the other books would be great.

Sexual content - i recall one physical scenes with a few details
violence - nothing disturbing but action throughout as they search for the truth

Delta Force Joe is on a mission to figure out who is framing his commander for terrorism. When he comes across Hailey Duval who is a socialite who is more then she seems. Its seems though that the past wont stay there are being captured and killed and Hailey is being sent cryptic messages. Joe is there to help Hailey out in finding out who is behind who is after her and still try to help his commander.

I really enjoyed this book there was just so much going on that will keep the readers wanting more. This is book three to the Red, White, and Built series and I'm kind of wondering what is the tie between them. I haven't read the previous books so I'm not sure if trying to figure out who is framing the commander is a bigger part of the series or if that was just Joe's objective. I really liked the characters in this book, I loved getting to know Haileys character and how she wasn't just a spoiled rich socialite like Joe thought there was so much going on for her and not only that she was pretty fearless. Like she wasn't going to let anything keep her down. This book was pretty fast paced, never a dull moment, and I really enjoyed it.

3 1/2 stars out of 5
This is the 3rd in a series and while it is better than the first I still find myself struggling with the story. Yes its has
everything a Harlequin Intrigue read loves; Mystery, Romance, action, suspense murder and of course sex.

The story moves at a decent pace just enough detail without bombarding readers with useless details or characters.

The lead characters needed more flushing out at times but all in all its was a decent read for a night.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Harlequin Intrigue for an advance copy of Carol Ericson Delta Force Die Hard.

I received a free, advanced copy of this book from the publisher. This is my unbiased and voluntary review. I did not read the previous book(S?), but was able to understand the plot with the aid of the Cast of Characters and the back story woven into the narrative. Hailey Duvall is an heiress, the daughter of a real estate mogul. But while she could spend her time as one of the leisurely rich, instead she is a "do-gooder", not only raising money for the poor and war ravaged, but also volunteering in war torn and poor nations. She was kidnapped while helping in a Syrian refugee camp, (many of the Syrian refugees fled to the border with Israel, where they received medical treatment and aid, but this was not mentioned in the book), and feels responsible that when she and the other kidnappees were released, her car had been rigged with a bomb that blew up in the camp, killing many. This seems to have happened in a previous book, so not a lot of details. One of the other kidnappees fingered Major Rex Denver, Delta Force, as a traitor, working with the terrorists, however, his men do not believe it and are doing their own investigation. One of his soldiers is Joe McVie, who is using his leave to find out the truth, and Hailey is the first on his list to investigate. Hailey only could collaborate that there was an American there speaking French. However, as he follows her, he sees that she is being followed and is in danger.

The characters are well developed and fascinating. There is a traitor, but who is it? Why are some of the volunteers lying about Denver, putting them all in danger. Can Joe keep Hailey alive? Will he be able to say goodbye at the end of the book? The book is well written, moving at a nice pace with intrigue and romance.
