Dancer Fleur Miller had an accident while performing and ended up in rehab on the island she grew up on. It is there that she meets widowed Doctor Robert Fleming. Dr Fleming very quickly comes to realize that Fleur is simply doing the least amount of rehab she can do to get out and return to Boston. He is attracted to her but won’t act on it as she is his patient. Robert, along with his young daughter Ellie, came to Maple Island to start over after his wife had died. Fleur couldn’t wait to go back to Boston, she hated the Island because of the way she was treated when she was younger. Dr Fleming soon challenges Fleur which gets her motivated to work harder. After she is discharged, He gets the courage to ask her out. Soon a romance begins.
This was a very nice story. I liked the relationship between Robert and Fleur as it slowly developed into love and they helped each other heal. Little Ellie is cute as she asks her father is Fleur is his girlfriend. When Fleur has the choice to go to New York to work on Broadway, she has a tough decision. Once she is in NYC, she realizes what is important and returns back to Maple Island and her little family. I look forward to the other books in this series.
