This book compared to that of Elin Hiliderbrand and it has a beautiful cover. I did not find it similar to Hilderbrand at all. The writing is so jerky and jumps all over the place it is extremely hard to follow Faith and her rich Palm Beach family drama. This one wasn’t for me.

This book was decent. I liked, Faith, the main character, but her lifestyle was not anything I could relate to. It was hoping this would be similar to books by Elin Hilderbrand or Liane Moriarty, but it was not.

This was a did not finish book for me -- I just couldn't get into it and after getting through 25% I stopped.

I'm normally a big fan of light read, women's fiction but there was just something about this that wasn't drawing my attention.

I was excited to read A Palm Beach Wife after reading the description and seeing her writing being compared to Elin Hilderbrand. Unfortunately, I didn’t find that to be the case when I was reading it. I did think the story line was interesting but something just didn’t click for me and I couldn’t get into the characters.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for this advanced copy, my opinions are my own.

Faith is the type of character that you will either love or hate. She is both a champion of herself and her family and a naive women who looses so much at the hand of her husband. But, regardless of how you feel about Faith, A Palm Beach Wife is a wonderful, escapist read. My favorite part of the book was the setting-I loved the glimpse into the lifestyles of Palm Beach. Having spent some time vacationing at the Breakers (but having no where near the actual money of any one else vacationing at the Breakers), this book was a guilty pleasure. It was an incredible look behind the screen of perfection you find at such places.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

I struggled with this book, the writing style is very disjointed with information inserted randomly, it’s just all over the place. Since it is an advance copy so I hope there is some editing to define a better flow, but it was a very tough read.

This book didn't work for me. At first I wondered if it was the formatting that caused it to feel like it jumped from scene to scene. As I went on, I realized it was the style of the writing that was throwing me off. It felt frantic, even when nothing was really happening. A large (most) part of my 2 starts is due to the style not being for me, but how this was marketed factors in as well. I would not describe this as perfect for fans of another author, especially since the only thing linking the two is that they write about people who live in ridiculously wealthy areas.

When I requested this from Net Galley, the description seemed to be my type of story. Little Big Lies came to mind. Unfortunately, I just couldn't relate to the Palm Beach life style and found myself having a tough time reading the book to the last page. Thanks to the publisher, author and Net Galley for the chance to read the ARC.

I really enjoyed the escapist start of Faith's story. She was a junior queen of the society scene in Palm Beach, and worked at and owned a vintage consignment store on Worth Avenue, one of my favorite streets of all time.

The book however begins to fall apart very quickly when it's discovered that all is not what it seems in Faith's perfect life and marriage.

In an effort not to spoil the book, I will not reveal specifics, but a new character came out of nowhere and I was distracted by the hard left turn from escapist fiction to a different type of story all together.

That said, I felt Ms. Marren writes well and is an engaging storyteller. I loved the vintage details in the work.

I will definitely try her next book.

Thanks to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for an ARC.

I reallu looked forward to reading this book. I did not enjoy this book as it was not my cup of tea. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book. Although I received the book in this manner, it did not affect my opinion of this book nor my review.

Maren provides an intriguing insight into Palm Beach society life with this novel. Well worth the read.

Great read about Palm Beach high society. When Faith's husband financially ruins them, she is the one who takes the lead to bring them out of debt. Layered on top of the financial stress Faith deals with the ghosts of her past -- her family, her ex and her husband's addiction as well as the social fallout from their financial ruin. Great read...still perplexed by the ending.

Faith is living the good life in Palm Beach where she lives, works, and parties among the wealthy. At a gala event that is being chaired solely by Faith, her husband informs her that he has made some bad investments and their personal wealth has been depleted-they are broke. As her husband begins to break down, Faith is left with the task of trying to find enough money to help pay off their debts while trying to keep her store and hopefully her home. A good, dramatic read.

As the weather starts to get cooler up here in New York this is the perfect read to start warming things up! You'll fall easily into the rich world of Palm Beach and get caught up in all of the drama and gossip. It's always way more fun to read than have so much drama in your own life!

I lived in Wellington, Florida for 3 years and that is a small suburb of West Palm Beach. I can say this book is an funny but accurate description of the women of Palm Beach. So fun to read a book about where I spent some of my time as a wife.

I really enjoyed this story about a very strong character named Faith. She came from nothing, she got more than she ever wanted and then she lost it all and had to dig herself out.

Faith is used to a life filled with fancy parties and designer clothes. She has several vacation homes and a very wealthy husband. But she doesn’t take it for granted and she doesn’t need it either.
One day her husband says he’s lost everything. Everything to the tune of 30 million dollars.
Does Faith leave him? Does she have an emotional break done. No, she does not.
When her husband then proceeds to completely drop the ball and leave Faith with the reins, she jumps in and takes over.

I like a book with a strong female character. I also appreciate a book with likable characters. I liked Faith a lot. She’s incredibly strong. Even when confronted with the repercussions of her own scandal, she holds it together. And frankly, after everything her husband has done, I don’t think Faith’s scandal even compares.

Then we can add in a few fun details that appeal to me personally. Faith owns a an upscale resale boutique. Each item sold comes with its own story, written by her daughter and inspired by a classic literary tale. Could I afford to buy anything in this store if it was real? Of course not. But I’d want to browse anyway.

My only complaint was actually the last couple pages of the book. The end felt too sudden and somewhat unclear. Is this to have a sequel?

I think this would make a fantastic book to put in your beach bag or even to tear through on a long weekend.

I received an early edition ebook of this through NetGalley. Thank you!

I love a book that talks about and I incorporates shopping! As far as detail into couture level/high end shopping this was a treat! The rest of the book didn’t fair as quite as well, unfortunately. The plot was a bit far fetched? Sometimes less is more. There was a great story hidden in the book which often got lost in “too much going on” and implausibility. Ultimately, the ending of the book is dismal. Watching a heroine change and overcome only to be slapped in the face at the end is disappointing. I was ultimately left with a “huh?” Moment. This could be a great book, but veers off the mark.

They are pretentious, with egos bigger than life and they are the Palm Beach wives, but we're only interested in one Palm Beach wife and her name is Faith. Just given the news by Edward, her husband, she has learned they are now $30,000,000 poorer, or should I say in debt, as all the personal wealth is no longer. Making some rather bad investments, he now has to see if he is able to recover all (or any) of his money. Her days of high society are numbered.

With high end names that could just about sink a yacht, we read on. We have Manolo Blahnik shoes, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, the list goes on and on. Room-like closets filled with names some can't even pronounce. But Faith has to keep her equilibrium, because in Palm Beach everyone knows your business, discusses and dissects your business...you have to be careful and play it well. As the owner of Vintage Tales, a consignment shop where upscale goods sell in the thousands to women of her class, she hears the gossip, just hoping she is not the one to be gossiped about! But can her husband recoup his loss, will they be able to stay in Palm Beach, more importantly, at least to Faith, will she avoid both gossip and scandal? Will she stay strong or collapse under the pressure?

I totally enjoyed this story, I felt the author with her excellent writing skills, set the scene in a manner that fits the style of what we, the ordinary people, think of as Palm Beach. Yes, there are charity events, balls and galas, ah the lifestyle of the rich and "famous". For a while, the reader steps into another world. In my mind, this was sort of set as a spoof and not to be taken seriously. It was a light read, to be sure an enjoyable one.
