Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book for review. I was eagerly looking forward to this book having read another book by this author earlier this year. There is a cast of characters who seemingly have no connection to one another initially but over time we see how intertwined they are. There is a murder to solve and as we learn, there could be many suspects. All the characters begin to have a connection to Tom, a headmaster at a local school and neighbour to some of the characters. The plot is great and is very complex and thought out, as we see, as the book continues. Tom, who presents as quite creepy, seems to have quite a charm with women. There are also some shady issues in Tom’s past that we need to learn about too. The first two thirds of the book are a bit slower but then it quickly accelerates. Another well written book by this author.
I really liked the build up in this book, the character background development was slow and steady and it didn't feel rushed. I kind of figured out the end before hand but I still enjoyed it a lot.
Wow! This excerpt from Watching You is a taste of a rollercoaster! Like climbing on and heading up waiting for the pulse pounding twist and drop! After finishing this partial publication, I had no choice but to purchase the book!
This excerpt is a great beginning to what is surely a fantastic, fist-clenching thriller!! I can’t wait until I have the opportunity to finish this magnificent work of art!
The premise of the book is great and the author really delivers. Great read. Highly recommended. .
I am a huge fan of Lisa Jewell's psychological thrillers, but this one did not live up to its potential.
Your typical psychological thriller told by an unreliable narrator ... a genre at which Lisa Jewell is quite good at writing. This one was pretty good, but I didn't really like any of the characters, so that always makes it difficult to maintain interest in a story.
This book is great! Would definitely recommend. Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
I had high hopes for this but I just couldn’t connect with the characters or the plot. I’ve loved Lisa Jewell’s other books but something about this just missed the mark.
Absolutely loved this book! I have loved everything from Lisa Jewell.
Great ensemble of characters, enjoyed the setting and the family drama. Highly recommend.
Looking forward to her next book, as I just finished Invisible Girl and equally loved.
A clever play on point of view and perspective, how we misread situations—come to a head in this compulsively readable story.
I love Lisa Jewell books. This was just an excerpt and after reading it now I want to read the whole book. I have read a lot of her recent books and she is a great author.
This was a great beginning to a thriller. Although the excerpt only provides the first few chapters in this book, it definitely drew me in right away and made me want to keep reading. Jewell’s ability to write effectively from different perspectives makes me think this book will be fun and intriguing to read. Can’t wait to read the whole thing!
I didn't realize this was an excerpt when I downloaded it and I was able to find the complete book elsewhere. I am clearing my "feedback" shelf so my ratio stays good! Thx.
Gripping excerpt that had me hooked. Watching you unravels a web so intricate you can't put it down until you know what has happened!
I did not know this was an excerpt when I requested it. I am sorry! I was wanting to read the whole book.
Loved the excerpt of Watching You by Lisa Jewell. I ordered the book and it is sitting on the table next to my bed.
Read the excerpt and what a tease it was!!! I wanted to keep reading, and now I just ordered the full book.
Great read and kept you engaged! Lots of mystery and keeps you guessing of who is responsible for what. Dou you really know your neighbors? Can you trust anyone?
Read the excerpt and want more. I currently have this one as my next audible book! Can't wait!
Will have to read this asap!
This made me want more! I finished this excerpt and then grabbed the book the next day! Excellent read!
For me, Lisa Jewell can do no wrong. She is one of my favorite thriller authors. The way Watching You is written gives the reader many point of views to continue to learn and grow with the characters. Not only are we able to paint a picture of the characters, but the gorgeous neighborhood as well. This neighborhood is one that we would all enjoy living in until we start to find out what is going on behind closed doors.
