This series is great! I love the characters and friendships the author creates. They are natural, believable, and compelling. Beckett, our tortured hero, is complex and lovable. I couldn't help but root for his relationship with Sierra to develop and grow. I actually read this book out of order, so I had more background information that perhaps intended. I think it actually made me love it even more. Great story, and I look very forward to finishing the series.

Ms. Cross never disappoints. Another action packed story mixed with unknowns and a dash of romance. Every book that she writes is delightful and entertaining
Weary from his years on the battlefield, SF Captain Beckett Hollister has returned home to Crimson Point to take over the family business for his dying father. But adjusting to life outside the military is harder than he imagined, and being back home forces him to confront things he’d rather not face. Including the one woman he shouldn’t want and can’t have—his best friend’s little sister. Town vet Sierra Buchanan has known Beckett her entire life. She’s crushed on him for years, but because of his relationship with her family, the stubborn man refuses to see her as more than the girl he grew up with. As tragedy brings them together, neither of them realizes that the sins of Beckett’s past have come home to haunt him. When Sierra becomes the target of his unforeseen enemy, Beckett must vanquish his demons to save her.
This was a decent story. There were a lot of little points put in there so it wasn’t just the cliched best friend’s little sister in a small town story. I read through it pretty quickly and overall enjoyed it. I recommend.
This is a first time author for me and I have to say this first book in this Crimson Point Series truly has me hooked. Beckett and Sierra's story kept me at the edge of my seat. There was action, passion, grief and forgiveness. Beckett has decided it is time for him to no longer be in the military and it is time to go home. It will be challenging for numerous reasons, even more so because of the woman he cannot have, his best friend's baby sister. It is a powerful story. All of the sub-characters were exceptional as well. The plot will have readers wanting more. Now, I look forward to the next book in this series.
I've read Kaylea Cross for a long time, so thought I knew what to expect with this series. WRONG! This is a departure from her typical style.
Fractured Honor has more "normal life" that other series that she has written. Yes, there is an element of suspense in the book, but that is not the main focus. This is the story of a man (Beckett Hollister) who has returned home, and has to come to terms with life not turning out the way that he expected. As he is finding his way in his new life, he comes across his friend's little sister (Sierra) and realizes he wants to pursue something with her.
In many ways this is a more traditional romance than what I have read from Cross in the past. That is not a bad thing, but it was hard to keep my mind away from thinking that there was going to be a huge twist featuring spies or gunplay or something to make it more like her other books that I've read. I liked the story although it did seem like a big setup for the series, with lots of supporting cast. I look forward to reading book two.
I love a multi-layered story and Fractured Honor has layer upon layer: child abuse, PTSD, aging parents, unrequited love, military ops, stalking, kidnapping, murder to name a few. Perhaps too many as the story overall feels unfinished, The LE component is inaccurate - even a casual viewer of any L&O episode can see the plot holes that do not quite jive despite the tidy ending. Sadly, the characters are too generic to make any of the Crimson Point goings on believable. However, the family dynamic element is noteworthy. Cross lends gravity and grace to the aging parent issue. Fractured Honor is worth reading if only for the touching story between Beckett and his dad, but the rest is quite forgettable.
This is the story of Beckett and Sierra, both have crushed on each other but because Sierra is his best friend'd sister, Beckett never acted upon his feelings. Years separate them and Beckett is back after serving, to take care of his dying father and takeover the business. This story had many elements going on besides the main characters. It was heartfelt and filled with emotion and a bit of suspense. I liked this story. Sierra and Beckett come together and have a HEA.

This was a good start to a new series. I liked the small town setting and the both the hero and heroine. I wish there had been more romance. Also, the secondary storylines were interesting, but took away time from the main characters. That being said, I am looking forward to reading Noah's story.

I think this is the first book I’ve read from this author.
A former army veteran comes home for his dying father and comes in close contact with the woman who has haunted for years. But the things he had to do while on duty followed him home.
Sierra has been attracted to Beckett for years now. But sadly he keep her at arm’s length.
They do finally get together and it’s lovely how well they fit together. I like them both. I like all the other people around them too. Hope they get their own story.
I was rather surprised at the violence at the end. And who was causing trouble for Beckett. Wasn’t expecting that at all. So this one’s a romantic thriller with a slow build up to HEA.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the copy of this book
I enjoyed reading this book. It hit on some heavy subjects but it showed how they banned together to come to a solution. The author played in a nice plot of two old friends that shouldn't be attracted to each other, realizing just how difficult the attraction is to ignore when they are living in the same town.
Fab new series to get your teeth stuck into!
This series revolves around a collection of former special forces operatives who return home. In this book Beckett has returned to his home town in Oregon and takes over the business from his ailing father. Now that he's back he is trying to settle into some sort of normalcy but he has a complicated history with his best friends little sister and although he feels attracted to her, he feels to broken inside to do anything about it.
Using a builder/general contractor role for the hero allows the stage to be set to bring in other former special forces operatives to either help out and/or use the physical work to help alleviate some of their issues reintegrating to stateside life. Beckett may look quite intimidating but one lonely little girl sees a kindred soul in him and his dog and seeks him out for comfort and safety.
Beckett is no sap though, when one of his employees starts to slack he kicks him to kerb, whilst also making sure that he doesn't take it out on his poor wife.
Sierra is a vet, strong and loyal friend and all around nice girl. She knows that Beckett can't quite get over the fact that she is now a grown woman but that doesn't stop her lusting after him.
Small town setting for big time mystery and thriller. Great storyline with lots of twists and a couple of moments were I wanted to reach through the book and strangle a few folk! Can't wait to see how the series develops - we're off to an exceptional start!
Fractured Honor by Kaylea Cross was a fast-paced and good romantic suspense story. The storyline kept me hooked. Good character development.
I missed the suspense that usually comes with Kaylea's books, but I still loved it and will be coming back for more.
I’m a big fan of military romance because every story makes me proud of our real military heroes who are in my thoughts and prayers every day. Beckett is an Elite warrior who is back home in Crimson Point after walking away from a military career that left him disillusioned and sick at heart over the things he’s seen and done in his service to his country. He’s come back to run the family business where he employs his fellow military veterans while he also spends as much time as he can with his terminally ill father. Beckett tries to deny his feelings for his best friend’s sister, but as his father’s health deteriorates and there are problems on the job site he can’t help but rely on Sierra’s sweet and loving nature to soothe all the turbulent emotions he’s holding inside. Just as Beckett can see his way toward a loving future with Sierra, his past comes back to haunt him in a way he never saw coming. I loved this tender and poignant reunion between father and son that suddenly turns into a life or death story with a larger than life hero who will use all his deadly skills to save the woman he loves. Just make sure you have the tissues close by and remember to breath while you’re frantically turning the pages to find out how this story ends. Trust me, it’s worth it! I read a complimentary copy of this book provided by Kobo Writing Life through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
A good start for the Crimson point series! Characters were quite fleshed out and the story moved along smoothly. The romantic chemistry between Beckett and Sierra was convincing. I am beginning to think that the whole brother's lil sister trope is getting a bit thin. The "bad guy" was the least best fleshed out character. I get the motivation but i felt there was something missing there. Minor complaints aside, i did enjoy this book very much and would happily recommend it to anyone who loves contemporary romance with a side of suspense.
Captain Beckett Hollister has seen the many horrors of war. When his father falls terminally ill, he leaves the military and comes back to Crimson Point. He still has friends there. Sierra is a vet and her brother, Noah is the town's sheriff. Sierra and Beckett have wanted each other for years, but she is off limits because she's his best friend's sister He still has guilt about some of the things he did under orders and being called a hero in the town makes him feel uncomfortable. Someone is keeping an eye on Beckett and Sierra. Sierra is in danger. Who are they and why? I really liked this book and I want to know more about the other characters in this story. I received this book from Net Galley and the publisher for a honest review. The opinions expressed are my own.
It is a story that makes you admire those who have served this country and demands that they receive the respect that they deserve. Along the way, you hope that all find the love that SF Captain Beckett Hollister finds with the irresistible Sierra Buchanan.
It is a romantic suspense story that highlights the seen and unseen wounds of war.

I love Kaylea Cross. I've never read a book of hers that I didn't like. Fractured Honor is no different. The main Hero is an awesome man, soldier, son, neighbor and all around human being. Seriously. There are bad people in the world and it takes truly awesome people to stand up for those who can't. Unfortunately, those great people occasionally feel dirty from the things they've done and seen in the line of duty. Beckett struggles with this.
The heroine, Sierra, is the younger sister of Beckett's best friend. This makes her forbidden territory to Beckett. She's sweet and has loved Beckett from afar.
Aside from all of this simmering between them there are some situations that require immediate attention.
Fractured Honor was an enjoyable read.
Fractured Honor was a great start to a new series. Beckett resigned from the Army special force team to return home to Crimson Point to take over the family business. He adjusts to civilian life he also chooses to hire other vets that are trying to adjust as well so that they can all be there for each other.
Sierra has had feelings for her brother’s best friend for years, long before he left for the army, but she knows or thinks he doesn't have feeling for her back, she questions if she even likes her at all.
Beckett starts to lean on Sierra for support, and soon a great romance is found. They realize that they both share the same feelings for each other they are unable to deny the chemistry between them.
This is a very well written romance, I never felt it dragged out or confusing. The characters are well developed and easy to relate to and understand. Overall great romance read!
I was given an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
