"It isn't a battle between good and evil that has been waged since the beginning of time; it is a balance.

On the summer solstice, Ivy Blackwood was born. She different from the very beginning, At age 10 she was fostered out, she lived with this family for just two weeks The house burned down and she was sent to an insane asylum for a very young girl.
A group of magically talented people are being drawn to Ivy and she can read people through her ability as an empathy.

Ivy somehow manages to acquire a group of people to help her accomplish this task. They are all gifted in someway. This is a journey of becoming who you are and embracing it with both arms. By the end of the book, Ivy has discovered her emotions the love of her life and has begun the trek of self discovery.
So if you like romance, magic some tragedy and an ongoing series Then "The Ivy Blackwood Chronicles" are for you.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The plot moved along nicely and there was plenty of good natured bantering among
Nothing like a story of a young girl closeted away for something others did not understand.
The characters are well rounded out and the story was a pleasure to read, Get this book and rejoice all over again at the beauty and strength of youth who discover who they are and their purpose in their world.

THE GATHERING is a paranormal story on crack with so many twists that will have your head spinning. Really, this was so indescribably intense, interwoven with so many intricate details about every supernatural being you could possibly think of – from witches to vampires, lycans and even demi gods and zombies –, about the enchantment and thrills that Mardi Gras in New Orleans provides and countless other myths, spiked with the confusing aspects of Ivy and her beliefs of being mentally ill and unstable. Is your head spinning yet??

I have to admit, it took me quite a while to get fully immersed in the story – there’s just too much happening, too many (needed) point of views we were getting – from characters I couldn’t even really place at first.

Who is Ivy? Why is she in that mental hospital? Who is Bain? What’s the purpose of those gruesome, spooky, creepy happenings in New Orleans?
It’s convoluted and plain confusing and crazy – and scary – until it suddenly begins to make sense once the puzzle pieces finally start clicking into place. As soon as that point was reached, there was no other option for me than to let go and be completely pulled into this beautifully and intelligently crafted magical, mysterious and dangerous world that does not care about mortality or the limits of time.

The setting in New Orleans is nothing if not perfect – I don’t think there is a more mystical spot than this city during the mayhem and allurement of Mardi Gras for a supernatural battle between good and evil. A battle to restore the harmony and balance between darkness and light. After all, there cannot be good without the bad or light without the dark. And so it begins…

Chills. So many chills, evoked by all those haunting words, unexplainable events and murders, the endless twists, and all the magic and evil happening. The fact that even the smallest and seemingly most insignificant side character has their own important purpose … it blew my mind!

Now that I have fully arrived in this captivating world, I cannot wait for the next book in this series to be released, because I have still so many questions left – and I cannot even imagine the jaw-dropping answers that Ms. Fiore might come up with…

Haunting, original and captivating!

L.A. Fiore has become one of those authors where I don't even bother to read a synopsis, I just jump right in since I know I'm in for a great story, and this one is no exception. There are a few layers to this story that make it seem confusing, but if you stay with the story, everything comes together and will make sense.

Wow! When I started reading, I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting into. It's a little convoluted, but stick with it and push through and it will be completely worth it. The Gathering by L.A. Fiore is intriguing, engaging, well-written, and I couldn't put it down. Ivy Blackwood can't remember why she is locked up in a mental hospital and dreams are plaguing her. She needs to remember before all hell breaks loose.
Like I said, it's a bit all over the place in the beginning, but everything is important and you will want to keep reading. I'm giving this one 4.5 stars and recommend you one click this one today. If you like PNR, mystery, and a good story, you'll love this one!!

Ivy Blackwood is in a mental asylum, but she can't remember why. She has dreams that seem and feel lucid she swore she was there. But it couldn't be real, could it?
But something is coming, something dark and magical.
This book was a little confusing at the beginning. It has forays into other stories/characters, but trust me all these characters are important. They will all meet up and when they do it's like a door has been opened wide.
Can Ivy remember who and what she truly is? And will she remember before evil takes over the world?
Definitely one-click this one.

The enchantment and thrills of The Gathering has the anticipation elevated to an extreme level. Infused with every supernatural being you can think of, from zombies and ghosts to vampires and primordial and demi gods this read is nothing short of Imaginative and Phantasmagorical.

I was delighted to see that the setting was in New Orleans, what better place for an epic supernatural battle of good and evil. In this paranormal tale there must be a maintained balance between these two in the age old dichotomic struggle. You can’t have good without the bad, light without the dark, but the balance was shifting and needed to be restored.

What ensues is a quest into a world of mystical fantasy to reestablish the harmony and counterbalance the darkness that sought to gain control.

My interest is piqued to see where Fiore takes the story and characters from here.

Strange and dangerous things are happening in New Orleans and the only thing Sheriff Josiah Abiviny is that Ivy Blackwood is somehow connected to everything. But how can a thirty-two year old woman that has been locked away at a mental institution for twenty-two years and has had no contact with the outside world be connect with what is happening?

The Gathering is the first book in the Ivy Blackwood Chronicles and what a start! This paranormal romance took my breath away with all its drama, suspense, action, twists and surprises. Ivy's story will make you want to cry, laugh, scream and swoon.
The one thing that took my breath away was Ivy and Bain's love story. Their love is beautiful and their story is phenomenal.

L.A. Fiore did a phenomenal job with The Gathering. The story is captivating and unexpected and the characters are amazing. She delivers a page turning story, very well written, and she'll take you in a epic journey that you won't forget. I can't wait to read more about Ivy, Bain and all their friends.

I am a huge fan of paranormal books, but I have been mainly reading romance lately, so this book came at a great time and really peaked my interest as soon as I read the synopsis.

This book was a perfect jump back to the paranormal genre for me, and I honestly could not put it down once I had started. I spent the whole book on the edge of my seat and had to make sure I kept the lights on!

This is set during Mardi Gras in New Orleans, where there is an abandoned and suspected haunted mansion. A place where you would dare your friends to enter for fun, however, no one ever makes it back out of the mansion alive. You also have the intriguing story of Ivy and the romance with Bain!

This story is full of suspense, mystery and a bit of romance thrown in! It has really pulled me back to the paranormal genre and I cannot wait to read more of the series!

This story had me from the first sentence. I absolutely enjoyed it. Yes, I love PNR stories and am intrigued by them but this one had quite a bit going on so it took you deep into the story.

The multiple POV was confusing sometimes, I had to make sure I kept up with what was going on. But if you follow along and keep up with the story, you are in for a real treat.

This book ends on a high note and a somewhat happily ever after. But the author does leave it open for another story with these wonderful characters.

Wow seriously!!
My very first read by LA Fiore and it was fantastic!
She has such a way with words! She’s quite amazing!
The book for me was a bit confusing. She was going back and forth between the past and different characters but once I got a hang of it it went quite well.
The characters are really well developed as so sincere. Very real characters.
She hinted of another story after this one in this series at the end so I’m excited for that.

Wow, I was not expecting this book to completely blow me away, the way it did.

Right from the very beginning I was hooked and intrigued where thing we’re going, and constantly throughout reading I was thinking “what in the bloody hell is going on???”

LA Foire has given us such a complex, and compelling story that you will not want to put down. I am in awe of how she has weaved such an intricate story which doesn’t make you feel lost.

This is a book you will want to read. If you like mystery mixed with supernaturals and Mardi Gras, then you will absolutely love this.

I want more. So much more!

A brilliant 5* read from me!!!

There is one reason I picked this book to read and that is the author. I didn't read the blurb but to be honest it wouldn't have made a difference as it gives nothing away about the story.

For the first few chapters I was lost I had no clue what I was reading about so if your like me and that's how you feel stick with it. Suddenly I had a eureka moment and I understood and it was genius. Everything worked for me, the writing the characters the story the mystery the suspense the undying love.

If your looking for something different to read choose this you won't be disappointed.

What an awesome, beautiful, unique, soul searching, gripping, chilling, surreal, suspenseful, thought provoking and spellbinding read!!!!!!
This isnt the usual story by L.A. Fiore- this time she has written a paranormal story called "The Gathering". Its the 1st book in The Ivy Blackwood Chronicles and wow all I can say is bring on more in the Chronicles. This book will draw you in and soon the words will draw you in deep into the world and you wont want to leave, for I know I didn't....the world that holds darkness and light, the struggle that is so prevalent and real. Yes, the darkness will scare you so be afraid yet at the same time, the author gives hope with the light and with her main character of Ivy. OMG Ivy's story really had me rooting so hard and wanting to know everything about her and then there is Bain. The relationship that is flares between them, the uniqueness is beautiful and has be rooting for them.
This story has so much !! You have to read to experience all that transpires. There are twists that will spring up and take you by surprise; i say this because I definitely was. All the characters in this story fit perfectly in the right spot. I can't wait for the next book in this new paranormal series.

My rating: 4.9 stars *****

There is so much to this book that if I try to talk about it all I could be here forever! Now the book did start off a little slow for me but that was because there are three main characters that we have to get to know, so jumping from perspectives was a little twisted. Once the ground work was set, it was a really intriguing story that is laced in paranormal, occult, magic, and the supernatural. Ivy was kept in a secluded hospital for twenty-two years. When murders start to occur in New Orleans where Josiah is the sheriff, he starts to find connects to something different. Bain arrives to New Orleans after being called. These three take an extraordinary journey. This journey was like an onion that draws you in with ever new layer that is pulled back.

For a moment I did not think I was going into a serious roller coaster. To tell the truth, in the first chapter I realized that I was going to read something else. Something I'd never read before in Fiore books. And that's what happened to me. If you take into account the number of characters, the plot that was hard for me at first to understand what they hell want from me, I slowly got in touch, slowly fell in love.
Fiore brought me a good book, combined with tension, chaos, mystery and of course, the love story. A story that writhes between the lines. The eternal love of Ivy and Bain's .
So, if you feel like having something different, that activates and sharpens the soul and the cells in the brain, this is the book for you. highly recommend.

This book has become one of my top 2018 reads! It’s fast paced, action packed, full of suspense and intrigue that you won’t be able to put it down.

I’m not going to go into detail with my review. I want you to be shocked and in awe like I was. Every time a new detail got revealed my jaw was on the floor and I want you to experience those emotions. Everything you have ever wanted in a PNR is in this book. It left me on the edge of my seat and was even spooky at times. The suspense killed me. I kept waiting for that fine line to disappear and the impending doom. I read this late into the night and to be honest I’m going to read it again. It’s just that good.

I have been craving a good book that was full of paranormal, supense, and romance!

We first meet Ivy locked inside a mental hospital. You think she's crazy but really she's not! As you continue to read your quickly sucked into the pages and find yourself not being able to put the book down.

I don't want to give anything away so that thr mystery of the book remains in place! But just know that this was one brillant book and it will quickly suck you in! I can't wait for the next book!
