I unfortunately forgot to download the e-book on my kindle before it was archived and/or lost interest in the book because it’s been on my tbr for way too long, so I wasn’t able to read and review it (on time). Since I Must give a star rating, I’ve given it 3 stars to stay neutral/in the middle. Sorry to the publisher for not having gotten around to actually read it.
Heavy on the erotica, which can be good but some more in-depth doesn't hurt either. It was an enjoyable read overall. If you know the life then you will get the book. Its not bad but its not the best. A good in-between books reads
I thought this was an entertaining book, with good character development, the flow of the story moved at a good pace, the right amount of chemistry and an engaging plot. Plenty of sexiness, but I also appreciated the romance aspect to the story.
Unfortunately, there seem to be too many of these books. You know the ones I am talking about. No real storyline, abundant sex scenes, and very little substance. This book is one of these. If that's your cup of tea, great. But it's not mine, so I didn't enjoy this book.
Thank you to the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.not as good as I expected. I know it is hard to write about dom and sub. I do think the author tried her best. Expected a better story next time. 3.6 stars
I really enjoyed this book. It had a great storyline and characters that was very well thought out. I enjoyed the romance and the love that was found. I will be picking up more books by this author.
I must admit I enjoyed this book more than I thought i would. I actually wanted it to be longer. It seemed to end pretty abruptly. I wanted more exploration of Finn's world. While the sex scenes were pretty detailed, they seemed to just scratch the surface of all the possibilities the characters could experience. There also just wasn't enough character development but clearly the potential is there. I was certainly feeling all the feels and the is one of the most important things a romance novel should do for it's reader. I will definitely be looking out for a sequel and for more books by the author. A definite add to my library but I just wanted more!
I really liked this steamy read. Lilli and Finn have great chemistry and both characters have plenty of depth. The story is fast-paced with plenty of drama and his oh so hot. A good read!
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
It was a fun and fast read. However, I still cant get over the fact that his big secret was that he was born poor and had to reinvent himself as someone who speaks without a brogue. Otherwise, I enjoyed it
Lilli meets Finn when they are paired to restore a historical building. The first time they saw each other, there was immediate burning attraction. Finn is a Dom and doesn't just bring unknowing women into his world, but Lilli exhibits some submissive traits. Finn believes she's a strong woman, but a submissive underneath that tough exterior. Would she be interested in that?? He finds her irresistible and she him! After a night of unbridled passion, Finn reveals his true Dom self and Lilli bolts. She does some research and soul searching, then she decides she is willing to give his way a try, if he would have her. Finn agrees and slowing begins training Lilli.
I enjoyed this book! Lilli was a strong girl and I understand where she would have misgivings about what she was feeling. Her mother and how she was with her father played a role. She was warring with her head vs. her heart. She knew what she wanted-and would ultimately crave-but reconciling that in her head took a bit of time. I also enjoyed Finn. I felt he moved at a good pace for Lilli. I liked how he was willing to change things for Lilli because he wanted her in his life and gave her numerous choices as they progressed with their play. I enjoyed their journey together towards realization that no matter the rules they make up, they wanted to be with each other.
The only thing I would have liked, would have been a glimpse of their work life and the project they were involved with. I wanted to see how they were together in a business type atmosphere. Their relationship was not a 24/7 one, so I'd like to see how they juggled both sides of themselves-especially Lilli.
A very enjoyable and steamy read!

Her Gentleman Dom started out really well, but it felt like it was missing something. I have read a fair amount of BDSM before and enjoyed the books in the past, so that wasn't the issue. Lilli and Finn's relationship didn't feel natural connections, more just controlling. The plot was overall okay, but the story development didn't flow well for me. I also didn't really buy Lilli's quick acceptance of her submissive nature. Lilli seemed to initially struggle with this, but then accepted it all a little quickly given her initial reticence. Overall, not a bad story, it was a quick fast read. Maybe if there was more depth to it, it would have been a better read for me.

I received an arc from Netgalley. Lillie and Finn have an irresistible connection and Finnwants Lillinfor himself but will she accept his Dom world? An interesting and fast read.
This is an erotic romance that has a lot more erotic scenes and provides just the tiniest bit of romance. It’s competently written and creatively describes all the fun and games a reader would expect from a novel with the word ‘Dom’ in the title. But I expected more playful interaction between Lilli and Finn and would have been interested in the career dynamics between them while they worked side by side on the charity project that brought them together in the first place. As a matter of personal taste I really don’t appreciate a dominant man who punishes a woman by withholding an orgasm time and time again just because he’s the one in charge. In this case Finn may be a Dom but he’s no gentleman. I read an early copy of this book from Entangled through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
While this started out promising, it just never really delivered for me. I don't read a ton of BDSM and I'm not in "the lifestyle", but something about Lilli and Finn's relationship bugged me. It was explicitly mentioned several times that Finn was only supposed to be her D in the bedroom (even more specifically, only when Finn’s bedroom was in “dungeon mode”) but he seemed to act like a controlling ass a lot of the time outside of those specific conditions - with "threats" of punishment in the bedroom for Lilli's "transgressions". I also didn't really buy Lilli's quick acceptance of her submissive nature. I'm not saying that people can't be submissive but feel they are feminists/strong women - but while Lilli seemed to initially struggle with this, she seemed to accept it all a little quickly given her initial reticence. Overall, not a bad story, it was a quick read that I wish just had a little more depth.
Her Gentleman Dom by Kate Allure is the story of Finn and Lilli.
Finn and Lilli are set to work on a San Francisco building project where sparks fly. But Finn is in to dominance / BDSM type lifestyle. Lilli being a strong, independent business women isn't sure that she could be a sub to his dom at first...but things start to come together...in hot way.
Enjoyed this hot romance.

"Mr. Sex-on-a-Stick."

I loved the play on the Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde persona and using that as Finn's character basis. It was an easy transition to imagine who he was playing depending on his attitude and boy did Dr. Jekyll get me in the same mood as Lilli's. Lilli's character was meek to start, definitely not one of my favorable qualities in a female lead, BUT it helped the storyline and it progression into the BDSM nature. I don't think either character had a lot of substance - they both fell through, not meeting my expectations, especially if Finn's character is supposed to struggle the same inner turmoil as most domineering men do and especially if Lilli is supposed to become a stronger female from this. They need to go through more struggles and strife, so to speak, in order for me to believe their romance was realistic.
- Plot -
From the beginning, I hooked. The chemistry between Finn and Lilli was fireworks. Instant attraction with clever play on words. The flirtatious banter as the story progressed intensified once the BDSM was introduced. But the story began to fall apart the more I read and that was because it was just *too perfect*. Finn was scared to bring Lilli into his world, and he had every right because of how strong her beliefs were for feminism, but there was no struggle seen with this. I expected that because of her beliefs she would be adamant about not being subservient to a man, but there was very minimal rebellion. Because of the lack thereof, the story was too boring for me. A novel with BDSM nature should have lots of action, arguments and excitement and this was just too subpar.
Kate Allure has written a hot and interesting story. Good character building and writing. Like it bunches.
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, erotic romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
Eh...I wanted to like this book as it was something I should feel great in... but I hadn't... s the whole relationship started out in a WRONG way and was nor redeemed during the book when we consider D/s relationship... I hoped it will change but it had not...
Lily was a woman that was down to earth her whole life, never considered the life of sub. So how can she accept sub's life within a minute without talking with Fin or any talking... crazy...
Had so much potential just minor changes with the content of the story.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Another first read for me with this Author. Kate Allure delivers a fast paced red hot romance with this one. I was immediately sucked into the plot, the characters and the chemistry between Finn Hyde and Lilli West scorched my synapses. I was very excited and even fist pumped that my book slump was over, the sex scenes were beyond steamy and even though I found their encounter a little far fetched, I was committed.
Then about half way in I started realizing the plot was static and character development stalled for me. Characters you meet in the beginning are barely mentioned again and the project that brings them together is never resolved which led to an open ended conclusion that left me assuming what happens to them.
Throughout the entire book Lilli has doubts about herself and her submissive tendencies, it gets repetitive. Finn on the other hand is everything you would want in a Dom, and the British accent doesn’t hurt either. The punishments were creative albeit a little much I thought for a submissive in training and a lover who wants to bring her into his world slowly.
I still give it 4 stars because it was well written and a steamy read. If your into quick reads with BDSM this one is for you.
