As a kindergarten teacher I'm always looking for new ideas for my students. This book provided simple crafts that they could do with just some simple materials. I wish there were some nicer crafts as I feel like most were a bit tacky looking but it's still something they children will enjoy doing.

Lots of fun, simple ideas. I would say this book is mostly aimed at the earlier years, the few bits of sewing could easily be done with supervision.

Fun projects for kids ages 4-10 with the younger kids closely supervised for each step and the older children following the instructions on their own if they already know how to cut, sew and glue. The items could easily be made with left over scraps of fabric and yarn. The colorful pictures and clearly written instructions are a plus. One of the projects is called a marionette but is actually more like a finger puppet. There is a cute poseable clown made with wires inside the body that I think the kids would love to make and play with. Although project number 2 is supposed to be a tray, it could become a pond and be used to play with the little fishes and the turtle in projects number 1 and 3.

This is a great book to introduce your child to sewing and different types of material. I like that it has different levels in the book from beginner to more advanced, There are step by step directions and the book is very easy to follow. I especially like the handbag, dog and little fish. It even shows how to make pom-poms. Nicely illustrated and inspiring your child to learn to sew and use their imagaination. I recommend this book for 5+ year olds.
I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love seeing books that encourage young kids to begin crafting and expressing their creativity. This collection of 14 simple, cute projects could be done with a wider age range since many involve no sewing - younger kids would need help with the cutting and supervision using glue and staplers. Older kids could substitute sewn seams in place of the glue if preferred and add additional details. Projects are rated as to difficulty as well making it easy to choose an appropriate project for your child. Instructions are clearly illustrated with photos of each step.
