Any book in Andrea Camilleri’s Inspector Montalbano series catches my eye, and peaks my interest. This was no exception. This edition of the series seemed a bit more involved than the others. The tone seemed different as well. Secondary characters were a little less fleshed out, their usual charm paler in comparison to previous outings. The author is known for making Sicily’s history, food, culture part of the story. Even more minor regular characters usually have more impact.
