Amid the wildly beautiful beaches of Sunset Bay, Oregon, lies Sanctuary Ranch, a refuge for strays, both human and animal. A place where love and healing go hand-in-hand . . .
When journalist Jonathan Byers leaves L.A. with his career in tatters, he heads to Sanctuary Ranch, determined to settle some of his personal affairs by putting his aging father in a seniors' home. But his father stubbornly refuses to leave his secluded retreat--and has even rallied Sanctuary Ranch's beautiful gardener to his cause. Something about sexy, mysterious Abby Warren piques the rugged reporter's investigative instincts--and his interest--luring Jonathan to stay a little longer . . .
My thoughts:
Blackberry Cove was a fun quick read. I love the atmosphere that the author created. Characters were great and relatable.. I can't wait to read more books in the Sanctuary Bay series
I got a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from Net Galley.
I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one. Way to go!! Loved every minute of it.
Roxanne Snopek has the ability to take readers on an emotional rollercoaster. And I swear she love to will that power. Blackberry Cove is the standalone third book in the Sunset Bay series. Jonathan Byers returns to Sunset Bay to take care of his aging father. He runs into trouble in the form of Abby Warren, his father's neighbor at Sanctuary Ranch.
As the two get to know each other something awakes in each. The two have pasts they would rather forget, but together they learn to heal and truly move forward.
**Received a copy from the author and reviewed voluntarily.**
An entertaining novel with some likeable elements throughout the chapters.

This was a wonderful story full of love all around. Two sisters struggle through various life challenges. They come to Sanctuary Ranch to hide out and hopefully find some peace. Quinn, the youngest, goes through a rebellious stage based on an event that they ran from. Abby tries to protect her younger sister while becoming the grounds keeper for the rancher. She loves to bake as well and takes care of one of the Ranch's neighbor Roman. Roman takes a fall that puts him in the hospital and Abby contacts his son Jonathan (Jon). Jon is a journalist who gets fired from his job on the same day as his' father's fall. Jon leaves L.A. to go to Oregon to help care for his ailing father.
The journey that these characters go through in the story is a delightful but yet a heart-felt one. This book is written in my favorite dual POV format. The story is one that plays out like a movie. I haven't read any of the prior books in this series and the secondary characters of this book are found in the previous stories. This book does stand on it's own but some of the other characters can be a little confusing (if like me you haven't read the other stories just stick with it; it is totally worth it.)
A heart warming story of bringing two people to Sanctuary Ranch not expecting to find love. Abby has brought her sister, Quinn to the ranch for a new start in life where they befriend Roman. Jon has arrived at the ranch to help take care of his elderly father, Roman. Jon is an investigative reporter, who has taken a hiatus from his career. Soon a friendship develops between Abby and Jon that might lead to more if Abby can open heart to Jon.
I highly recommend this story. Once again Roxanne shows her love of animals through this story. a job well done on dealing with an elderly parent. I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship that Abby had with Rowan.
This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.
This is a wonderful book, great story line, many characters and real life issues. There is illness followed by a death, loose ends from the past that include witnessing a person in power use sexual persuasion. There is friendship that turns into romance a special inheritance that will make the impossible be possible.
And Recipes for some really good baking.
Book 3 in the Sanctuary series. Sisters move to the Oregon coast where they both seem to find themselves. It was a quick read, but quite enjoyable.

Blackberry Cove is part of the Sanctuary Ranch Series. I enjoy how Roxanne Snopek ties all the stories together with the place and the caring community that is found there. I also enjoy how each book is also self-contained so that you do not need to have read the entire series, even though this is book three, to understand what is happening in this story.
At some time or other we all need a place like Sanctuary Ranch to run to so that we can heal. While one of the main characters in this story, Abby has done just that, it seemed to me that Jonathan needed the same thing. Of course, he would never have said that when he arrived determined to force a move on his father. Instead of succeeding in that mission, Abby and Sanctuary Ranch worked their magic on him. Not without secrets, angst, struggles and resistance, mind you.
Some stories are just destined to rip your heart out and then heal it back up whole again from the very start. Blackberry Cove is such a story. If you’ve read any of the Sunset Bay stories then you’ll feel right at home with this one – if you haven’t, no need to worry, you can easily enjoy this story on its own but it will most likely have you itching to read the two earlier stories as well.
For Abby and Jon, Blackberry Cove is very much a story of secrets and changes, of accepting the past as it cannot be changed, dealing with the present since that is the moment we live in, and preparing for the future with its guarantee of changes both good and sad. Abby and her sister Quinn have settled into Sanctuary Ranch where Abby loves to bake and Quinn feels secure. The fact that this is a place for both humans and animals to heal is quite clear from both sister’s renewed look on life. Yet Abby is keeping secrets, and the trouble with secrets is that they eventually are revealed and not always under the best of circumstances.
Jon has returned to Sunset Bay without a job, his dreams in tatters and facing the changes that life brings to his aging father. When he arrived he had a set plan in mind, but slowly that changed with time spent with Abby and his father. However, the mark of a good man’s resilience is shown when secrets are revealed, and life takes another turn.
There are just as many life lessons to be learned as there are romantic moments for Abby and Jon. I’ll not be giving any of that away, for some things are best discovered firsthand for yourself. Blackberry Cove is filled with interesting and unique characters, both human and animal, lots of laughter, some tears and a huge slice of real life… the kind that can and does happen to us all. I enjoyed my time back in this world once again and would not hesitate to recommend this story or the entire series to any reader who enjoys a very good story, likable characters, realistic situations and the healing power of friendship, love and our animal friends.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
This is a fabulous addition to the Sanctuary Bay series. Author Roxanne Snopek has created the wonderful fictional town of Sunset Bay which is where Sanctuary Ranch is located. A beautiful place where people and animals alike come to heal and find peace and love. This story brings Jonathon Byers and Abby Warren to the area. Jonathon is an investigative reporter whose career has imploded and the stress of dealing with an aging parent has landed on his shoulders. Abby and her sister have come to the area for yet another fresh start. Together these two will find a way to deal with the past and build a bright new future.
A heartwarming story that you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.
It's been said, “We are all broken . . . that's how the light gets in,” and Sanctuary Ranch has a way of shining it’s healing light into the broken souls who come there. Between the animals and humans who have experienced plenty of their own fractures, the misfits and outcasts are welcomed with open arms and unconditional love. Abby and her younger sister Quinn have had their share of challenges and after bouncing around for a while have found a home at the ranch. Abby is protective of all those she loves, including her good friend and neighbor, Roman, but the secret he's asked her to keep weighs heavily. Especially when she has to keep it from Roman’s son, Jon.
Apparently I’ve been living under a rock, because the early copy I read of this book was my first by this author. I would classify this as more women's fiction than romance, and for personal reasons this one was somewhat difficult for me to read. Yes, there is a slow-burn romance between a tough but damaged heroine and a hero who's about to learn some important life lessons, but there is significant loss, secrets and missed opportunities intermingled with the healing, redemption and unconditional love. I do think the story is meant to be life affirming and uplifting, although there wasn’t a big enough dose of the positives at the end for my previously battered heart. If you begin the book from a neutral position, however, you’ll love this emotional, poignant, touching story.

It's the first book I read in this series and I was hooked. Now I want to read the other instalments and learn about the other characters in this series.
It was well written, with a heartwarming, moving, and engaging plot.
I was hooked since the first pages and I found the plot moving and entertaining.
I loved the cast of characters, both human and dogs, and I loved the setting.
The plot was interesting and I couldn't put this book down.
I look forward to reading the next instalment.

This is also the story of a father and son making things right.
The son is a journalist chasing a story and a Pulitzer while wanting to make the world a better place
The father is keeping a secret from his son while enjoying every minute of his life.

5 STars
In the beginning Abby is at a nightclub rescuing her sister from an older man. Abby has a neighbor named Roman and helps him get to hospital when she discovers him fallen in bathroom . Abby has to call his son Jon to come out and help .Abby finds herself daydreaming about Jons beautiful blue eyes shortly after he comes. Abby works on a ranch with her troubled sister,I enjoyed reading about the ranch life and the people that worked there.I liked the chemistry between Abby and Jon.I also enjoyed how Abby got along with his grumpy dad Roman. The pacing was a bit slow at times. I didn't care for the back story of the story Jon was working on and the drama with that.
A feel good novel that stresses family as much as romance. You know immediately that Abby and Jon are meant for each other but they've got to work through a lot of personal issues first. Sunset Bay and the Sanctuary Ranch are the perfect place to do that. Abby's responsible for and protective of her sister Quinn. She's also got her own secrets. Jon's come to town to persuade his father Roman to move but Roman's not having it. As Jon and Abby dance around each other, you'll root for them, as well as for Quinn and Roman. This has been a lovely series of interlocking books- you don't need to read all of them to appreciate any one. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Try this one!
A well written romance. Good plot, setting and writing. I highly recommend this book. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my digital arc. This is my unbiased review.
Another great story in the Sanctuary Bay series. I love the overall theme of the bay, a place where people can land softly, heal and are accepted as they are. That's not to say there aren't challenges along the way.
Abby comes to Sanctuary with her younger sister is tow, moving is their life. She's very protective of Quinn even at 19. Abby feels moving will keep the past in the past. They've settled here and fit right in. Abby is a baker and Daphne has put her to work in the kitchen as well. I loved the recipes and notes in the book that Abby made for herself. Abby is friends with the local cranky man, she brings him her fresh rolls and the latest picks from the garden, Roman is ill and Abby is sworn to secrecy about his illness. One day checking on him, she finds him on the bathroom floor. Having to call 911 and his son who lives in California isn't what Roman really wants but Abby feels it's a necessity.
Jon his son has his own set of problems, just lost his job as a journalist so heads up to check on his Dad and spend some time there. Something he hasn't done much of. He's quite intrigued with Sanctuary Bay and the ranch and more so with Abby and her sister. Abby doesn't share a lot of personal info and that makes the journalist in Jon want to dig deeper. The plot line is terrific and the supporting characters were outstanding. I loved Abby and though Jon bothered me a couple times with his obvious snooping, he also blended well with the story. I'm loving this series and along with the previous books are great reads I highly recommend.

For fans of Debbie Macomber and Susan Wiggs, Blackberry Cove is a charming small town romance.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author. All opinions are my own.
This book starts well enough but the most exciting and romantic thing about this novel was the setting and not the romance. I believed the connection between the main woman and the father more than I felt between the live birds.
