They say all good things must come to an end and sadly that appears to be the case with this light, paranormalish cozy series. Cookie has an vintage clothing store and she solves murders with the help of well, ghosts. If you haven't read this series before, you are in for a treat. There's nothing twee about Charlotte, the very stylish ghost who is Cookie's best friend, or Wind Song the cat who is the spirit of Cookie's grandmother. In this installment, Cookie's helped with a fashion shoot which turns into more. Tyler the photographer was a rotten person to the models but did one of them, or someone else kill him? Cookie meets a new ghost, Minnie, who has something to say about all of this. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is entertaining reading that will have you chuckling a bit.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's got action from start to finish, it is great to see Heather get her abilities and the ending was just perfect. I can't wait until the next one. #FashionsFadeHauntedIsEternal #NetGalley
There are 2 things you need to know about Cookie Chanel: she runs a vintage clothing shop, and she can see ghosts. Those ghosts are a big help when it comes to "assisting" her policeman boyfriend in solving crimes. When a fashion photographer gets killed on a photo shoot at the cemetery, Cookie and her ghost pals are right there in the thick of the murder investigation.
This was a fun, quick read. I loved Charlotte's Tips For a Fabulous Afterlife, at the top of every other chapter.
I love this paranormal series with Cookie Chanel and best friendCharlotte (ghost).
Cookie supplies the vintage clothing for a photo shoot in a graveyard, the photographer is shot but no ones sees anything.
The antics that they get into are fun and laughable, I enjoy the description of vintage clothing that Cookie wears and in her shop.
In all another well written book by Rose Pressey .
Many thanks for nettgalley and Kensington book for advance copy of this book. Thought are my own.
Love me some Cookie Chanel!
When Cookie is asked to provide the wardrobe for a fashion shoot in the local graveyard, she brings her best vintage fashion to the shoot, along with her ghostly BFF Charlotte. But during a break in shooting, a gunshot goes off and Cookie races to the sound and finds the demanding photographer dead. Not only does she find herself in the middle of another murder, she picks up another new ghost along the way.
Who killed the grumpy photographer and what does this new ghost need from Cookie to move in to the other side? Cookie and Charlotte have their work cut out for them.
While this is the last book in a fantastic series, I am seriously hoping the publishing house asks the author to keep it going. I’ve loved so many of Rose Pressey’s series and am always sad that they always seem to end after a short number of books. I know Rose Pressey has another new series coming out, but can we please keep Cookie and Charlotte going? I really love this series and am going to miss it, but remain Eternally Haunted and Hopeful for a new book.
Cozy mysteries are my book candy. When I need something sweet and light, I run right to my favorite cozy writers. I've been reading a lot of horror and hard-hitting thrillers lately, and needed a good palate cleanser. Rose Pressey is one of my favorite cozy authors. Her books never fail to be entertaining and fun, with just a splash of supernatural spookiness.
Fashions Fade, Haunted is Eternal is the 7th book in the Haunted Vintage mystery series. Cookie Chanel owns a vintage clothing shop, It's Vintage Y'all, in Sugar Creek, GA. While I don't really care about fashion, vintage or otherwise, Cookie also sees ghosts. In fact, one of her best friends is....well, dead. Charlotte Meadows, former socialite, now hangs around the shop and helps Cookie choose vintage outfits and solve mysteries. That isn't the strangest thing about Cookie's life though.....the spirit of her deceased grandmother lives inside Cookie's cat Wind Song. Since the cat can't talk, the grandmother gives advice using a Ouija board. Occasionally other spirits stop by...mostly to ask Cookie to help solve their murders. Just par for the course...
This time around it's fall and Photographer Tyler Fields is shooting pictures for the upcoming October issue of Fashion & Style magazine. Cookie helped pick out some vintage outfits for the models so she's watching the photo shoot at the local Sugar Creek Cemetery. Tyler is a bit rude, yelling at the models and acting like an ass. Just as Cookie meets a new spirit named Minnie from the 1920s, a gunshot rings out. Tyler Fields will never be rude again. Who killed the photographer? Cookie and her spirit pals are on the case!
This series is just fun to read. The characters are cute and work together well at amateur sleuthing. What Cookie can't ferret out, her spirit buddies generally can. That's one of the perks of working with ghosts that nobody else can see or hear. I like the lovely feline Wind Song....especially since it's also Cookie's grandmother. I don't think I would like it if my cats could talk to me using an Ouija board....I think all they would do is complain. :)
This newest book has some nice character development and sweet moments as well. The end was heart-warming for a couple of reasons and was a great closer for the story. I was also pleased to read a teaser chapter at the end of the book from a new Rose Pressey series -- The Haunted Arts & Crafts Mystery Series -- coming soon from Kensington. I will definitely be reading the first book in that series as soon as I can get it! :) Rose Pressey never disappoints....I love the mix of humor and mystery in her cozies. She develops her background theme quite well with info and tips on vintage fashion and where to find good deals on vintage items. The background theme doesn't over power the mystery or the characters though....just adds a nice flair. The supernatural elements aren't over-done, but just the icing on the story. This series is enjoyable and always well written. It's great as a fun palate cleanser when my brain gets its fill of horror and crime drama. :)
I will definitely keep reading this series! Can't wait for book 8!
**I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book from Kensington via NetGalley. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.**
This one is a fairly quick read without much depth. Not quirky enough for me. If you’re going to have ghosts I’d like them a bit more interesting
Fashions Fade ,Haunted is Eternal is a cute cozy paranormal mystery. A murder in a cemetery, four ghosts, and a bit of romance. The characters are wonderful and the plot is excellent. Rose Pressey is a fabulous author and everyone should read her books.
A solid paranormal cozy series.
I found the characters entertaining and the whodunit was well written.
I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the previous books in the series, which I will rectify.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of the book.
Love this quirky series and was happy to see a new book though sad to see it end (if only for now). Adore the characters and a surprise at the end.
Another sweet installment in the Haunted Vintage Mystery. I have to say, for such a small town, their murder rate is astronomical and no one seems to notice that. Me? I'd be packing up the family and moving out.
Cookie Chanel has been hired to dress models for a photo shoot in the local cemetery when they suddenly find that the photographer has been killed. As per usual, she picks up a new "ghost," solves a murder, and stays alive! Can easily be read as a standalone, but if this isn't your first Cookie Chanel rodeo, you won't be finding any surprises here, well except at the end, but I'll leave that for you to stumble on.
Thank you Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Hallelujah! We finally get to move forward with some romance in this story....and not just for Cookie! There are four spirits involved here, some in ghost form, some in cat form, and the classic murder mystery of love gone wrong. While the mystery aspect was fairly formulaic, it's the ghosts' personalities that keep me reading the stories in this series. They're so unique! I was glad to see some lines of communication between the living and non-living open up further....while on the one hand it involves more suspension of reality, on the other hand it makes the story more plausible.
This was an enjoyable, quirky novel. The heroine can see and communicate with ghosts . She is at a photo shoot when she witness a murder. This leads to a series of mishaps and funny moments as she attempts to solve the case. Enjoyable.
