Demon's Mercy by Rebecca Zanetti is the story of Logan (a demon-vampire hybrid) and Mercy (a Fae).
This is not my usual go to gene, but I really enjoyed this book. There is a war going on all around between good and evil and sometimes it's hard to see that the side they're on may not really be for the good of everyone else out there.
Logan starts out as a great guy, a strong hero and very likable. His back story suits him. He's dedicated and loyal to those he loves.
Mercy is trying to help everyone, but isn't quite sure how to get that done. She's got pressures from her people and leaders, but feels they may be wrong in some ways.
It gets more complicated when Logan discovers she's his mate..... in comes resistance, disbelief, shock and problems...
I have read books by Rebecca Zanetti in the past and this one is no disappointment. I plan to read this series.

Rebecca Zanetti shares her amazing imagination in her writings, and after reading this book I'd love to climb into her head!

What a fantastic read. Anyone familiar with Ms Zanetti's work will expect the sensational characters and the convoluted twists and turns set against a brilliantly detailed and supportive backdrop. This book doesn't disappoint. Well written, the novel grabs your interest from page one and never lets you go.

Easy worth the five star rating I've given - a superior way to escape into another world.

We've been waiting and now it's here. Demon's Mercy is the latest book from Rebecca Zanetti in her Dark Protectors series. Rebecca Zanetti brings to life not only the wonderful characters in this book but allows the reader to fall into this magical world and all it holds. With the engaging storyline, edge of your seat action and suspense I found myself quickly devouring this book. Ms. Zanetti has a unique view on the paranormal world and took me on a roller coaster ride with this book. Mercy and Kyle had off the charts chemistry and I enjoyed the back and forth between the two characters. I loved how the romance part of the story was there but not at the forefront of the entire book. This book had it all and I look forward to more books by Rebecca Zanetti.

Great paranormal read! This is the 9th book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. The story is fast-paced and the chemistry between Mercy and Logan is steamy. I enjoyed visiting this paranormal word with it’s amazing characters. A good read.

3.5 Stars. I think I will be the dissenting opinion on this book. Not that I didn't enjoy it because I did but I expected more and was a tad disappointed. Logan and Garrett have been my favorite characters for such a long time and the thing I love the most about them was their friendship/brotherhood with each other and the fact that they seem to be a bit different then the other Alpha, order-giving, domineering males in these books. Unfortunately as soon as Logan meets his mate he behaves in exactly the same way as all the other males in this world. Not that I mind it because I have enjoyed these books but I was hoping for something different from Logan. I also really missed the interactions between Logan and Garrett as they were separated through almost all of the book. I'm really just not connecting to the new "brotherhood" that Logan and Garrett have "teamed' up with and the story line with Hope is a complete repeat

Fun read in the series. The banter between the two main characters was just right - strong female character to stand against the strong, fierce male. Will be recommending this to my romance readers as one to pick up in the series.

This paranormal romance was filled with steamy passion and wild battles to keep any readers well amused. The chemistry between Logan and Mercy was hot, to say the least. With the fast-paced plot, Ms. Zanetti brings the Dark Protector series back to life with intense metaphors which make… Demon’s Mercy one of the best out of this series I enjoyed the most.

Demon’s Mercy a highly entertaining read. If you're a huge fan of paranormal romance, I highly recommend this title. This book certainly lived up to my expectations.

Review from an ARC ebook version.

It took me a while before finding this author, but now that I have, I just can't seem to get enough of her books. This book is right up there with all her others. Since I have read the other's in the series, it makes me feel like I am coming how to friends and family when I get the read the next book in the series. I like the Dark Protector series, and how you never know what to expect and what new species you might be introduced to. "You're a fairy?"... "We prefer Fae" "But fairy's are all... " "Crazy, so we've heard". Love this!

After starting with this series "Dark Protector" I had to go and read "Ms. Zanetti's" her other series the Realm Enforcers, Sin Brothers, Blood Brothers and have started her newest series Deep Ops. Can't wait for more books in these series.

Yes!! It's finally time for Logan's HEA. Or is it? He's about to join the Seven by becoming a shield so finding a mate is not on his radar. Fate, however, has a different plan in mind for him.

Mercy is a fairy, or Fae, as they prefer to be called. She, and her people, are in town to stop Logan and the Seven from fully forming. The Fae have determined that the Seven's rituals Ares causing dimensional disruptions...and could result in world destruction. Mercy is attracted to Logan but she is fully committed to her cause, plus she's already promised to another.
But as me know, that pesky Fate is at work and nothing is gonna stand in her way.

I loved this book. Logan and Mercy and so great together. They are both dedicated to their own cause and families.....which makes them constantly butt heads.....while also fighting their desire for each other. And the secondary characters really added to the story.
Now I'm ready for Garret's book.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, St. Martin's Press/Lyrical Press, via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias.

Mercy O’Malley hates killing people. So when she’s assigned to take out Vampire-Demon Logan Kyllwood, she lures him to a seedy bar in Scotland, then decides to kidnap him instead. How can she cold-bloodedly end all that heat, those green eyes, that ripped body?
This was a great story from start to finish. It has been 6 months and lots of books since I read the last book in this series, but it didn’t really deter me in the slightest. I absolutely LOVED Logan. I really liked Mercy. However, her unflinching faith in the superiority of her species irritated me a little. It was hard for me to put this book down when responsibility dictated. I highly recommend.

The Dark Protectors series has been a favorite for a few years now. Last year began the new season in the series introducing The Seven, a new enemy and a new generation of Protectors. I was thrilled with Vampire’s Faith and eager to press forward into the long-awaited book for Logan Kyllwood.
Review

Demon’s Mercy is the ninth installment of the series and doesn’t make for a good place to jump in with its direct connection to the book before it, but in a pinch a new reader could get by.

The Seven and the new enemy Kurjans has been introduced, but now a new race has entered the conflict with their own take on the fate of all things- the fae. Logan discovers this when a certain fae beauty attempts to kidnap him to save his life from her own people who think killing The Seven is the answer to altering a catastrophe they see on the horizon. This starts Logan and Mercy on an action-packed adventure to get his brother back and deal with the fae while discovering what they know so they can share it with the allies. Oh, and dealing with the mischievous and quite capable Mercy who now has her own complications in the form of a huge, muscled vampire-demon making it difficult to hold to loyalty to her fae race and their way of doing things. She enjoys their dust ups and fighting with him, but the attraction can’t go anywhere because she’s promised, right?

The author’s books are always a treat. I enjoy the fantastic action scenes, teasing and sizzling romances, and the good chemistry not just in the romance but the group of ‘Protectors’ like with Logan and Garrett. Logan was introduced in the earlier part of the series when his older brother got his story and then popped in often enough. I impatiently waited for him and his best bud Garrett to get their stories and now, here we are.

I loved Mercy for Logan. She starts out all starchy and prim and sure of her racial superiority only to face a guy who is not all that impressed and has done his time scrapping and fighting to earn his self-confidence. Mercy is no wilting flower and I love that she has gifts to make her capable of standing beside Logan in the fight with the evil Immortals and stand up to his alpha nature. Meanwhile, little Hope is still visiting in her dreams with someone her whole family would consider the enemy and she knows will help her bring an end to the conflict.

This book read so swiftly. I intended to read a few chapters and ended up devouring it in two sittings. The pace was swift, but steady and easy reading. Hot romance and action will do that. Now, besides Garrett, I totally want Sam’s book after what we learned about him. Really loving this new season of the series and glad the author kept writing them. Paranormal Romance fans who enjoy a variety of paranormals including vampires, demons, witches, and now fae should give this book/series a look-see.

My thanks to Lyrical Press for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Zanetti! Whoo Hoo! Zanetti is back!

Zanetti is the queen of paranormal in my book. I always look forward to grabbing up her books and this did not disappoint.

What I love best about Zanetti’s men is they are true alpha. They do not take anything from anyone… well, accept their women. Her alpha men can turn a man into a mouse with just a look. Imagine when they use their hands… or more so their power… but then the women come into the story and BAM these men think they have control but they lose it with a single kiss.

This story is the 9th in the series and yeah we can say you can read it out of order but NO… I suggest you read the series. Catch up on it. You will not be disappointed. Heck you may even come back and thank me.

Oh the excitement of being back in this crazy world!!

And fuck yes there's a lot going on!. PNR romance at its BEST bringing so much goodness I can't even. I don't know where to begin.

Logan, our wonderful hero. He's that perfect balance of arrogant bossiness and sweet sexy goodness. Aside for the obvious devastatingly good looks.. the man has so much depth to his personality you'll be digging for a life time and still not reach his core. His honesty, the sweet .. even the dominant.. it was all kinds of perfection wrapped up in a sinfully delicious package of pure perfecUtion.

Mercy, sweet sassy Mercy. She is the kind of heroine I pray for in books. Fiercely independent, loyal to a fault but also strong minded enough to not let others effect her choices. So many layers with so much to give I found my self in admiration of her.

This story packs a punch quite literally. The plot is intricately woven through this series to damn near perfection seamlessly transitioning from one story into the next only adding to the depth of the plot. Slowely but surly we are getting near the finish line being spoon fed slivers of vital information about what's happening in this crazy world and where this is leading us. Honestly even with what information we do have I still can't figure out how this is going to play out. That's the fun of it all.. every book there is something new and exciting. More characters, new worlds to play with and all kinds possibilities.

The chemistry is off the chain between Mercy and Logan from the start. There's great character development from both of them and they continued to grow throughout the story into great likeable relatable characters. The side characters also bring so much life to an already bursting story. I love the relationship between them all!. All kinds of sweet, sexy, crazy and outrageously hilarious shenanigans going on that you'll never be bored.

It always hard to give a review on something you can't explain properly without giving HUGE spoilers away. So I'll leave it here by saying that once again this author has surpassed all expectations. I'm so freaking excited about the future of this series and the possibilities that come with it. I'm legit gagging for answers from so many burning questions. All in good time but like really can I just get the next story like yesterday?.

4 "I Want It All" Stars!
Mercy O'Malley is a 25 yr. old beautiful, fair, extremely intelligent fairy. Her destiny has already been charted, and she was following her path in life. Her people were known for their knowledge, and she was willing to sacrifice everything for the good of the universe. She was assigned by the Fae to take out a man who they felt was a threat, and needed to be kept under control. She decides to go rogue and kidnap him instead. Her intentions are good, but she has no idea what she's dealing with or getting herself into.

Logan Kyllwood is a demon-vampire hybrid. He's one of the most dangerous creatures in the world known for his incredible strength, fighting skills, and stamina. He's trained to defend and protect, and was loyal to the core. An experienced demon soldier who followed duty. His brother was the head of the demon nation, and he was raised around death and violence. He would soon complete a ritual to become one of The Seven, a group dedicated to protecting this world from evil, but first he had to deal with a pretty, pixie fairy. He was sent to retrieve her, but things don't go quite as smoothly as he planned.

Logan & Mercy clash and come to blows as they each fight for control. It's unclear at first who is the prey, and who is the prisoner. They both have unique gifts that need protected, as well as enhancements and special abilities. Mercy is in over her head. This gorgeous, oversized beast both tempted and overwhelmed her. They were supposed to be enemies, but he fascinated her. She begins to imagine what belonging to him might be like. To live in his world, and be shielded by his power.

Mercy infuriates Logan, but he had this unexplainable need to keep her safe. She was beautiful, intriguing, and had a kind heart. He saw her value, and wanted to explore what was between them. They shared a strange, undeniable connection, and he was starting to feel like she was meant to be his. She threw him off balance, but also was becoming his refuge. How could he ever let her go?

This was my first book by Rebecca Zanetti and I just loved it! It's full of humor, and is a sexy, exciting story about immortals if different dreamworlds and dimensions. This couple has a love/hate relationship filled with passion. It's an enemies to lovers romance where they find love in the most unexpected places, and with all the odds stacked against them. I can't wait to read more from this amazing author!

4.25 stars--DEMON’S MERCY is the ninth instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult DARK PROTECTOR paranormal, fantasy romance series. This is vampire/demon hybrid Logan Kyllwood, and fae Mercy O’Malley’s story line. DEMON’S MERCY can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

SOME BACKGROUND: A thousand years earlier, a number of immortal warriors went through a ritual that, if they survived, hardened their bodies against attack, a ritual meant to create a group of Seven known as The Shield. The Shield was created to protect the world from an evil race of vampires known as the Kurjans, their sect group known as the Cysts, and ultimately a rogue warrior once considered a friend- Ulric-a male of immense power. To protect the human race, Ulric was captured, and along with two of the Seven, was encapsulated in one of three spheres for all eternity. As the warriors search for the ‘Keys’ to perform the ritual, the Lock must be protected in order to take down the evil that is hoping to take over the world.

Told from several third person perspectives including Mercy and Logan DEMON’S MERCY focuses on Logan’s search for one of the Keys, a supernatural or enhanced female who, together with two other Keys, will open the lock to save the Realm but all does not go according to plan when Logan finds himself the prisoner of a female Fae, Mercy O’Malley, the woman who would one day be his fated mate. What ensues is the back and forth, escape and recapture between Mercy and Logan, and the potential fall-out as the Fae have sided with the Kurjans and the Cysts, against the Realm.

Mercy O’Malley has known all of her life that she is destined to help save her Fae world. As one of only a few remaining Fae of mating age, our heroine finds herself promised to someone else as she slowly falls in love with our leading man. Logan Kyllwood knows Mercy is his fated mate, the mating wrong is never wrong, but Logan struggles to convince Mercy that trust is earned, even though neither one is willing to accept the other at face value.

Meanwhile Sam Kyllwood is taken hostage and thrown into a hell dimension where the portals open for a revealing surprise.

The relationship between Mercy and Logan is acrimonious at best. Mercy and her fellow Fae females have been assigned to take down and destroy our leading hero in the belief the Seven are a threat to the world. The palpable sexual attraction between Mercy and Logan is immediate; the $ex scenes are passionate and seductive.

There is a large ensemble cast of familiar and colorful secondary and supporting characters including Logan’s brother Sam Kyllwood, Garrett Kayrs, and seven year old Hope Kayrs-Kyllwood, and her bestie Paxton; Zane and Janie Belle, Ronan and Faith Karys, Quade Kayrs, Benjamin Reese, demon-vampire and Viking Ivar Kjeidsen, and Scotsman Adare O’Cearbhaill. We are introduced to Mercy’s fellow Fae warriors Sandy and Trina, self- proclaimed King Niall, and president Alyssa Dawn.

The world building continues to focus of the search for the Keys: the fight against the Kurjans and the Cysts; the protection of the Realm; and Hope’s foray into the dreamworld. The seven members of the Shield prepare for war one battle at a time, knowing one or two of their own may be lost forever, encapsulated in an effort to keep Ulric behind proverbial bars.

DEMON’S MERCY is a story of family, friendship, survival and blood. The fast paced premise is engaging and intriguing; the characters are strong, sassy and inspiring; the romance is spirited and moving. DEMON’S MERCY is a sexy, spicy and startling story line sure to please the supernatural lover in all of us.

4 - "No more secrets..." Stars!

Book nine of the Dark Protectors series; Demons Mercy gives us Logan Kyllwood’s story. Falling for your assassin has never been so entertaining.

"Baby… You definitely have my attention."

We are introduced to a new race in this book in that Zanetti has bought the Fae Realm into the mix alongside the Vampire, Demons & Shifters etc. Mercy O’Malley and her kin are determined to stop the full reformation of the Seven, believing that rather than strengthen the prison holding the deadliest of all the Kurjans, it will likely break him free.

So far demon-vampire Hybrids were not her favorite people…

I never struggle to read a book by this author, my usual issues are generally with characterization or the lack of enough plot to fill the length of the page count, and for me there was a little of both in this one, Mercy like some of the authors previous heroines stepped out of the sassy, confident personality profile, and erred into the arrogant and idiotic at times, and I personally found that there was a lot of merry-go-round with the push and pull between her and Logan, so much so that the story building with some of the secondary characters held my interest more than their stuttering relationship.

"I thought we were going to fight…"

"…I’d rather fuck"

As I said no struggle to read at all, I think my rating attests to that, and Logan more than made up for Mercy’s shortfalls. I just found myself looking forward more to the next book; Alpha’s Promise at the end of Demon’s Mercy rather than reflecting on my enjoyment of the story I had just read.

"It’s like you want me to put my hands on you…"
