The Fae have decided to come out of hiding and save the world from being destroyed when the Seven form and dimensions collide. Mercy O’Malley is supposed to take out Logan Kyllwood, the last man set to join the Seven, but when she gets near him her blood sizzles and her heartbeat quickens. When she decides to kidnap him instead Logan goes along with it trying to figure out this new danger. Needless to say, neither one of them fights against the pull they have for each other even though they are fated to be on opposite sides of this war.
Logan was born a warrior and even though he is the youngest Kyllwood brother he has taken on a significant task of saving their world by joining the mysterious Seven. As with all of the other alpha heroes in this series, Logan is dark and broody but he has an element of fun that is brought out when he meets Mercy. Part of that is that she is Fae, a species he didn’t know was real. He jokingly calls her a fairy through the whole book, a title she begrudgingly accepts. It’s that humor that humanizes the story and makes she and Logan interesting.
I like that a new species has been introduced to this Dark Protector world. The discovery of what is “fae” makes this story interesting and I hope the author delves into that lineage more in future novels. Logan and Mercy were a fun pairing and I enjoyed their story and look forward to getting a glimpse into their future in the next Dark Protector story. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have waited a long time to read this book, and I was not disappointed. It has a good plot, action and the couple is hot. I can’t wait to continue to read this serie and can’t wait to the next one.
I have loved this series since I discovered it. I was happy when Demon's Mercy came out! So good! I remember Logan from previous books and was happy he was getting his own book. Mercy is a good match for him. I really enjoyed this and am eagerly awaiting the next one!

Logan's goal is to become one of the Seven and to track down the Keys necessary to keep Ulrick in his dimensional prison. Mercy, who is a key, attempts to kidnap Logan in order to prevent the Seven from coming back into power. She doesn't want to kill him, but the Fae will do anything to prevent the Seven from coming back. It is kind of unclear whether the Fae are correct in that Ulrick's prison will fail and the world will be destroyed if the Seven are allowed to complete their numbers.
Most of the Fae are almost extinct and while they are advanced in many ways, their best fighters are no match for just about anyone. Ultimately Mercy has to take a chance on her mate and that the Seven will not end up destroying the world.
Logan is actually pretty tolerant of all the stuff Mercy does. She kidnapped him, knocked him unconscious, and ran from him several times. All the while he is only concerned with keeping her safe while still fulfilling his goal.
It didn't take long for the twists & surprises to start and there was plenty of action to keep readers on their toes and turning pages. While Mercy's insistence that her people were right and everyone should just accept without any explanation or discussion got a little annoying at times, she was otherwise a smart & capable heroine. Logan was nicely balanced between the overprotective alpha and caring/understanding hero. He took a lot but was no push over. Series threads and teasers were intermixed in the novel without distracting from the primary story. The author builds wonderful relationships and interactions between all the various characters. This also complements not just the book but the series as a whole. Other than a slight & very brief lag in the middle, this story was engrossing and engaging from start to finish.
Hello, people we finally have Fae! Logan is a vampire-demon hybrid, and one of the deadliest fighters in the Realm. Logan’s plan is to become a member of the Seven. Mercy is a Fae with a mission to prevent that.
The Seven exist within the Realm to destroy the "most evil Kurjan Cyst ever born". The Seven’s mission is to find the three Keys, to save the world from a very evil being. But the fae believe initiating another into The Seven will destroy all the worlds and are willing to go to war to prevent it.
Each time Mercy slips through Logan’s fingers and escapes you can’t help but laugh. I mean come on look at all the females in his life; you’d think he’d know better than to underestimate a woman no matter the species.
It's not all fun and games these two have to find a way to prevent war between The Realm and Fae nation, all the while with Mercy reminding him that they are enemies.
“Mercy broke free of his gaze, looking beyond him to the sea. ‘Don’t you get it? Everything is about Hope Kayrs-Kyllwood. The first step was taking Sam. The next?’ She shook her head. ‘It’s inevitable.’ Logan growled. Hurting this half size female was something he’d never get over. But with her last statement, everything changed. He’d do what he had to in order to get answers. ‘Get out of the hot spring, Mercy. Now.’”
"The king placed large hands on the table, his voice pleasant and very peaceful.
Mercy relaxed a little. It was nice to be around a calming influence for once.
The king leaned forward. ‘What the holy fuck of a fuckup of a disaster have you assholes gotten into?’ Dage yelled, his booming voice echoing off every wall.”
Mercy snorted. Shocked, she clapped her hand over her mouth as both Logan and Garrett swung toward her.
‘Fairy?’ Zane said calmly, as if that explained everything.”
There are so many layers in this book you will not want to put it down!

Finally! We have fairies! Sorry. I mean, Fae.
Mercy and Logan are perfect for each other. Mercy is a stubborn, headstrong fae. Logan is a typical alphabet male demon/vampire hybrid. They’re chemistry is off-the-charts undeniable. Although, they seem to be on opposite sides. Butting heads at every turn. They have to learn to work together to save the ones they love.
5 stars!!
Demon's Mercy was an absolute five star book ! The characters were wicked cool and the twists began almost immediately.
Rebecca Zanetti is one of my favorite authors and an automatic one click by the way. I've been hooked on her Dark Protectors since the first book. I've never once been disappointed.
This book was a great continuation to the Dark Protectors. I loved Logan and Mercy right from the beginning and with the many surprises I never once wanted to put this book down. It was superbly written, with cool characters, romance and excitement that never stopped all the way through to the end.
I loved it and am already looking forward to the next book.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend it to everyone.
I've always considered Talen Kayrs to be the *ultimate* romantic hero. I like the rugged, alpha type. I like capable and protective men. So the entire Dark Protectors series is my catnip - but my heart was always for Talen and his growly and domineering ways.
AND THEN, THERE WAS LOGAN.
Honestly, I read this book cover to cover and did not stop to eat, sleep or pee. Ms Zanetti has this amazing talent to write individuals that are complex, well rounded, intriguing and wildly entertaining - then coupling them up with the exact right partner. Mercy was perfect. She was smart, brave, loyal... and endearingly naïve. I fell for her before I even got tingles for Logan. She was sweet and determined - a refreshing change from the swoony and helpless heroines that are all over the place these days. Mercy was prepared to kick butt and make sacrifices without whining or self-pity. I LOVED her.
Perfect for her was Logan - confident to the point of *almost* cocky, skilled and clever but with just the right amount of mushiness for her. He wants to keep her safe and happy while saving the world - whats NOT to love?
I'll be honest, Ronan's story was my least favourite of the DP storyline and I was a little scared at the direction Ms Zanetti was taking with the whole Seven thing - Demon's Mercy not only knocked my socks off but really invested me in the storyline. I could not be more pleased with this book and am SOOOOO excited to continue reading. Thanks so much!!
I love this series. Even though in the beginning Mercy got on my nerves, I grew to understand where she was coming from. Logan was irresistible, he had a gentle and protective side. This is such an interesting story and I can't wait for the next one.
It always amazes me, that the two authors I will stop everything (even something I’m currently reading) to devour their next book, both write Vampires! Obviously Rebecca Zanetti is one of these authors, and each new addition to her Dark Protector series is a gripping, action-packed and all-consuming event. And just when we thought all the paranormal beings were somewhat accounted for in all their sexy, protective, conniving and evil ways; along come the Fae.
Demon’s Mercy takes us back down memory lane with a reintroduction to the very adult versions of the Kyllwood brothers. Yes, we already knew of Zane’s destiny and have also had some interaction with Sam, but we now get a healthy serving of the arrogant, badass, younger Kyllwood, Logan, in all his delicious, demon glory. But as with all the male/female pairings in this series, not a damn thing comes easy, and finding that his potential mate is not only a “fairy’, but is obstinate, sassy and has a very different agenda to his, makes the already electric chemistry and their battle of the wills, fiery and sometimes physical too.
There is literally nothing not to love about this book! Rebecca Zanetti is exceptional in her storytelling, and her world building draws the reader in and consumes your every breath until the last page is turned. Theirs is only one negative to this book and that’s the time spent impatiently waiting for the next explosive story! Thank you Ms Zanetti for delivering riveting tales, with captivating characters and moments that make us laugh out load.
I love Logan and have enjoyed watching grow into a fine, fierce young man. So it was somewhat difficult to watch his transition into a mated male. However, it was fun to watch the sparks fly between him and Mercy. It was a little off-putting to have the Fae world suddenly thrust into the storyline, but i’m thinking the author wanted to inject something new into an old storyline. So far so good.
Oh my goodness.... what an amazing book!! I absolutely love the Dark Protectors series and this book definitely did NOT disappoint!! This book is about Logan's story and may I just say WOW, WOW, WOW!! He is such a 'playboy' and always in 'trouble' so reading about him being all grown up and meeting his mate was swoon worthy. Rebecca Zanetti is such an engaging writer and never fails to find ways to hook her readers. During this story we are introduced to fairies... just kidding, they actually prefer to be called Fae, and Zanetti does an amazing job weaving the Fae into this magical world of vampires, demons, witches, and shapeshifters. After being introduced to the Seven in Vampire's Faith we know that they need to find three special keys to prevent a world disaster and one key has already been found. This book begins with Logan following Mercy O'Malley because she is a key. Mercy ends up being more than a key. She is a spunky, compassionate, spitfire of a Fae; whom also ends up being Logan's mate!! The events that take place throughout the story are engaging and exciting. It was tough having to stop reading to even go to work!! If you're looking for a story that is interesting, romantic, and fun this is the book to read. Enjoy!!

I loved this book and this series. I was so glad to read about Logan and can't wait for Garrett's story. There's always lots of action and emotion. I'm ready for the next book!
DEMON'S MERCY is a fantastic read. Author Rebecca Zanetti brings her readers back to her "Seven" with Logan's story. We were introduced to them in VAMPIRE'S FAITH and this one continues down the same exciting new path, while still a continuation of her Dark Protectors series. I say new because even though we do get to meet again some of the other characters from her Dark Protectors series, these guys are are heading down a new route as protectors.

I thought this book was a good read. I liked the chemistry between Logan (demon/vampire) and Mercy(Fae). This book needs a bit of editing. Words misspelled and using the wrong words at times. But overall a good book with a good story line. Would recommend.
Oh, did I ever enjoy this book. This is one of my favorite books in the Dark Protector series. I usually have a problem with the heroines in this series, but not so with Mercy. She was just a breath of fresh air. I found her to be exactly who was needed in this book.
Mercy O’Malley is fae. They are mostly assumed to be a myth in the Realm. The ones that have known a fae in the past all have a couple words for them. Fairy. Crazy. It’s actually crazy that comes up more often. And crazy they are. They often act before they think, especially in Mercy’s case. She doesn’t quite think her plan through when she decides that she’s going to kidnap Logan Kyllwood instead of kill him.
Mercy is not a solider. She’s a business person. Or business fae. She keeps the fae in money. She plays the stock market. She moves money around. Mercy is that person. She’s also one of the few fae left in the world. Her people were happily living on another dimension when it was destroyed. They lost almost all their people. Now they’re forced to live in a dimension that they have no desire to live in. The realm with everyone else. The problem now is that Logan Kyllwood and his brotherhood are threatening they’re new dimension as well.
Logan Kyllwood can’t believe he let himself get kidnapped by a fairy. He’s only days away from a horrifying ritual that could kill him. One where he joins a brotherhood known as the Seven. The job of the Seven is to protect the world from the biggest, baddest evil the world has ever seen. The evil that can wipe out all enhanced females. Including his young niece. Logan can’t help himself from being attracted to Mercy, but he won’t let her stop him.
What made this book so good was the interaction between Mercy and Logan. Mercy got the one-up on Logan so many times and he just kept falling for her shenanigans. At first I was thinking, “Seriously, how stupid are you?”, then I looked at it another way. He just liked her that much. He got stupid around her. There was one interaction that was especially humorous. The vampire mating mark appears on Logan’s hand, signifying that Mercy is his mate. Mercy sees it and loses her shit a little bit.
“Your marking,” she whispered.
“Yes.” He looked down, no expression on his immortal face.
Oh. She blinked. “You’ve found your mate.” What an asshole. He’d brought her to orgasm while soon to be mated to someone else. Obviously he hadn’t transferred the marking to the other female yet, or he wouldn’t have been able to kiss Mercy without succumbing to the mating allergy. The fact that she’d done the same was irrelevant. “You’re such a dick.”
He jerked and turned toward her. “Excuse me?”
A mating mark only appeared when a demon met his or her mate, and then it was transferred to the mate during sex. She’d read all about it, fascinated. “You’ve met your mate, and here is the mark to prove it. Yet you kissed me.” Man, she’d read him wrong. No honor. What a jackass. His poor mate. How incredibly sad. “I should tell her the truth.”
“You are her,” he drawled, dark amusement glittering in his eyes.
Mercy has always felt that she had to work for her place with her people. Logan is determined to show her that she doesn’t have to prove herself to him. His view does differs from Mercy’s in how their partnership is going to work. Mercy just does what she wants. She does what she wants without any fanfare. She just does it. She does what she believes is best. For her people, for her President, for her King, and above all, for Logan. I just adored these two characters individually and together.
Rating: 4.25 out of 5.
Review will be live in the month of January.
Logan Kyllwood is a demon-vampire hybrid and brother to the king of the demon nation. He is slated to become the last of the Seven, a secret group dedicated to preventing the most dangerous immortal from escaping from his other-dimension prison.
Mercy O'Malley, a Fae, is dedicated to preventing Logan from becoming one of the Seven, thus preventing the continuation of the other dimension. Her people have dabbled in multiple dimensions in the past with disastrous results. There are very few of her people left.
Mercy kidnaps Logan to convince him to not complete the Seven ceremony. Logan and Mercy go head to head and around the world. They fight against each other at every turn. But Logan discovers that they are mates. (Not much of a spoiler there--this is a romance, after all.) What are they going to do, especially since Mercy is promised to another?
***
This book is full of conflict that seems impossible to resolve, many secrets, and suspense. A character's secret is revealed and a character's life is drastically changed. Logan's prophetic niece, Hope, Janie and Zane's daughter, has a continuing storyline. She's adorable, meets her destiny in her dreams, and knows things she shouldn't.
Best read as part of the Dark Protectors series. Start with Fated.
*I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
Um...where the heck have I been? How is this the 9th installment to this series and I’m just NOW reading one from it? I’m a PNR lover and didn’t know about this series. I officially hang my head in shame. (And am now running to gather all of the others to catch up)
Mercy is a Fae with a mission. Although her actual mission is a little different than the one she was tasked with. There has been a disturbance in the force. No, not that one. The deminsions have been compromised and the Fae blame the Seven for it. So, instead of killing a member of the Seven, she’s altered her plans. But.....it’s not exactly going as planned....or not planned....
Logan isn’t a member of the Seven yet, but that’s the plan. The Seven have a specific role within the Realm (I’m new to this series, so I’m not even gonna try to explain it, just read the book). His mission is to find a Key, to save the world from a very evil being. But the Key just happens to be a pretty red headed Fae who just attempted to kidnap him. And man can she put up a good fight.
Like I stated before, I’m new to series and am still wrapping my head around a couple of things, but the bottom line is that this was awesome. The plot, chemistry, and drama were all well done. I absolutely loved that Mercy is a strong woman who wasn’t backing down from what she wanted or needed to do. Logan is everything Alpha. I dare you to NOT fall in love with him.
Although these characters were the focal point, I can’t help but mention a certain character that’s peeked my attention, drawing me closer to this series. I’m not going to spoil anything here, but the niece has won my heart. I know her story isn’t over and I can’t wait to see where it goes!
