I love the concept of this book and it contains good information, but it is too academic in tone for me or the public library where I work. It would be a great college textbook.

I so identified with this book I remember being a new mother ,my husband did not get family time like men do today recovering from a csection a first time mother and yes sinning or swim it was on me.My husband was a tremendous help when home but bottom line just like the author felt I had to get it done.I found this an engrossing read a view of motherhood past& present I enjoyed learning about traditions in other parts of the world.A book mothers will relate to and those considering parenthood man or woman should read,#netgalley#Havingitall #perseusbooks
