Despite her mother and the so called fiancée, oh how I wish to live just like Amy. Running a cute nice bookshop, with a bookclub just like that, having such nice friends and even getting to know some authors! Really, a dream come true!

It was just such a nice cozy read that I can't help but fall in love with this world Georgia Hill create in this nice town! I just know that I'll have to go and find the other books that happen in Berecomb to get to live just a little more with the characters!

I love books and I love cakes, so I was very much looking forward to reading this.

I wasn't disappointed.

A fab book that I will recommend to my friends.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me the opportunity to read this.

A cosy read for bookaholics

3,5 stars

I was delighted with Amy and her little bookstore, seems like a wonderful place. Her mother is really obnoxious, but thank God she has some really nice friends. The quite handsome writer Patrick is also hanging around her shop all the time. Amy would be even more glad if he would be hanging around her lips sometime soon...

Amy is such an endearing character, and her struggles make her authentic. (But why is it that in books the characters always only have to go for a run or to the gym twice and already have visibly lost weight? Why does this not happen in reality?) Since this is rather short novella, the story is not very elaborate but it still touches a couple of subjects. The budding romance is only one of them.

I've love reading these stories from different perspectives. I re-connected with characters that I'd met previously and this was refreshing. Its light, easy reading and exactly the type of book that I enjoy.

Amy has always lacked confidence, which is not helped by the constant criticism from her domineering mother and the fiance that jilted her at the altar! She is in her element though running the little book shop which joins on to the cafe, she loves books and even starts a book club, where she gets to know the author Patrick...... but will this ever develop beyond friendship?

Great to be back in Berescombe and hear Amy's story, I have loved all of these books and although predictable they have lovely characters that you care about and good comedy scenes as well.... lovely lighthearted feelgood read.

We are back in Berecombe and at The Book Café once more, and I have been so excited to read Amy’s story, as after reading the synopsis? I felt it was one I could totally relate too.

With the constant put-downs from her Mother Katrina. Amy’s self-esteem was pretty much nonexistent, and after being dumped at the altar, Amy is not willing to put herself out there again. So she settles into her life at The Little Book Café and the book club meetings, that always seem to get out of hand! Her savior with most things seems to be her friend and object of her unrequited love, the mysterious Patrick, with his soft Irish accent, he sets Amy’s heart aflutter!

But then, as life does, and things take an unexpected turn, the Little book Café is being targeted by vandals, Patrick has disappeared, and she has no way to directly get ahold of him, then a woman calls the book shop looking for him, them Amy has a big bust-up with her Mum! Will life ever be the same again for Amy?

Oh my goodness! This book has truly been the best book in the series so far! It seems to me that Amy is truly the center of the town, as she is the dependable one everyone can count of as being steady. I can totally relate to the critical family members, especially when it comes to weight, it just makes Amy’s character that little more relatable. And all the other characters in the book, just give you that warm small village feeling, that I just think most people crave.

The only drawback of the book is that I wish there was a better description of Patrick and Amy, if you haven’t read the other books in this series, you will struggle to picture them a little, other than that, the book is truly marvelous!

I give The Little Book Café: Amy’s Story 5 stars!

Brilliant plot, excellent main characters that you invest in. I read this book in one sitting and I would highly recommend it.

This cafe is actually next door to the bookshop even though you can purchase coffee and cakes inside the bookshop. I found this rather confusing as I could decide where the coffee came from.. but as the premises were jointly owned..
This book is set in a fictional south coast UK town which is all too nice and neat for reality - where these towns are struggling and not so nice any more - but some of the economic difficulties were mentioned as were the lack of anything for youngsters to do - which led them to petty vandalism.
A cosy book that lacked any ‘bite’ with a very ‘soft’ style. Very much in older style of traditional romances which include a Cinderella hiding from the world in baggy clothes etc with a weight problem - she thinks. And a rescuer.
Sweet but could have been better.

Great book with a great storyline. Not what I was expecting at all so was a nice surprise. Easy to read and good characters in there too.

This is the last story of three. I loved the first about Tash. You get a feeling about the town, community and Tash. I didn’t enjoy section two Emma’s and stopped reading. Hoping the Amy’s might be better. I was dissatisfied again. I really think they should be read in order.

I enjoyed this book. It was a little slow moving to start, but then picked up the pace. The main characters were people that I could easily identify with, and I really wanted to learn more about their story.
Thanks for the opportunity to read and review NetGalley.

I hadn't realised that this was the third part of a story and really felt I had come in half way through rather than reading a stand alone book. I wanted to like this book, it had all the ingredients I was looking for but it never really got going. Too many clichés (Irish mammies, insecure but perfect protagonist, resolution of relationship with mother) and plot flaws (running off to join the navy overnight when there's an 18 month recruitment process?) distracted me but I may be being a little unfair, having not started from the beginning.

I enjoyed the three parts of this book, but I did feel the stereotypical “Irish” man was patronising and showing a real lack of character research. It made me lose interest in the inevitable happy ending as the live interest was merely a caricature. This was the weakest of the three sections.

I'm a little bit sad that this is the last instalment in the series as I've so enjoyed the time I've spent with these characters, especially as this title was possibly my favourite of the lot. It was lovely to see Amy's character finally come out of her shell and feel the support of friendship from the other characters as well as get her happily ever after with the lovely Patrick. The book shop ideas were also quite inspirational and given me some food  for thought for our next library events. All in all, a brilliant trilogy and definitely worth your time.

I have a love/hate relationship with this book unfortunately - I really wanted to love it! The title and the cover are great - exactly the kind of story I like and I'd definitely pick them off a shelf of other books. The first 3/4 of the book was enjoyable and I had no major issues other than not really taking to Patrick (or his accent!!). But the last 1/4 just fell apart for me - It felt super rushed and a bit of a 'get out ending which ruined the rest of the story for me. The writing was good though, so I'd definitely read another by Georgia Hill. This one just wasn't for me.

This was a really fun book to read! This story focused on simply daring to take a chance in life, and in love in particular.Amy lives in a small coastal town . She works in a bookstore and managed to start a book group . She has a big crush on her book group fellow , Patrick , who is also a known writer . I loved the storyline and the set up a lot!Overall, this was a light, easy, fun and enjoyable read!

Amy has an overbearing mother who has damaged her self confidence. Being left at the alter by the man she loved has not helped either. So now Amy is a slightly overweight bookstore owner who still believes in love. When Patrick, a new author, starts spending time at her bookstore she takes an interest in him. He helps her out from time to time and even walks her home if it is late. It is obvious that he cares for her, but she is in the friend zone. His actions have never given her any indication that it could be more, until it does. They both have been hurt in the past and have their own demons to deal with. Can they overcome their own past to work on a future? Fun read.
