If you enjoy a non-stop thrill ride, this book is for you! It will also make you think. I could not put this book down. There was plenty of action and excitement. The Click will make you think twice before you accept the way things are.
Thankyou to NetGalley, Wild Rose Press and the author, Steve Shear, for the opportunity to read a digital copy of The Click in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.
What an interesting premise of a storyline! The author has delivered a really gripping read with this book.
I thought the storyline was well thought out and written. I was hooked.
With an unending succession of world-wide wars poised to go nuclear, the story opens as Armageddon is on the near horizon. Make no mistake, this is a thriller that may keep you reading way past your normal bedtime. The story is told from the viewpoint of a former CIA operative desperate to save his grandson. At age 75 he's calling in favors earned throughout his long and oft times violent career. The chase has all the makings of a Tom Clancy novel. Complete with corrupt international governments and a World Church cabal joining forces. Pulling together, they try to stop his unrelenting quest for the truth of a secret cure for the terminal illness of his now only grandson. (Note: I received this book free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.)
A thought-provoking book full of action, suspense, intrigue and hope. The reader of this book may take it on for a thrill ride - like you are watching a Bourne movie but there is more to this book than the action. The resonating theme must be that any blind following is not the right path. Those whose primary focus is to obfuscate and lie are not worth any loyalty. These messages come from a book based three-hundred or so years in the future, but they ring true today. The battle between good and evil, right and wrong and what is the right moral ground is the basis of this story. Those who love the non-stop thrill ride of The Matrix or The Bourne Conspiracy will love this book.
For me the way the book kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire time was almost too much for me personally but I know that millions love that kind of story.
Get this book and get ready for the ride of your life.
My Rating: 4.5 stars
Shear writes an action packed book. I could not put the book down. Book is based upon idea that everone dies at 75 years old. People believe it has always been that way. One man tries to discover if that is reality or a lie to control mankind.
In a pretty bleak future, in my opinion, life ends at seventy unless you can “pass” as younger or get condemned for looking too old. In this novel, we face both extremes in one family. The tension created is hard to deal with for those who can see an actual merging of all the institutions involved: government, medicine, religion.
