The Singer family have turned Meadowbrooke Manor into a successful boutique hotel and Pippa the youngest member of the family is the Manager. When she receives a long term booking from an American Brooke she is intrigued... why would she want to spend such a long time here? As she gets to know Brooke her suspicions grow but her siblings disagree with her...... has Brooke got a secret that she is hiding?
Great to be back in the Cotswolds with the Singer family and lovely to see how well they are doing, plenty of intrigue and romance, a lovely lighthearted beach read
I didn’t realise this story was the third in a storyline, however that didn’t matter as the book eased me in.
Well written, an easy read. Not really compelling, but that’s down to opinion rather than anything to do with the writing.
Thanks to NetGalley for an early copy in return for an honest review
A very good read and one I can highly recommend to others.
I could not put this down.
Thoroughly enjoyable with an amazing cast of characters that you cannot help but engage with.
This book is the 3rd book in the "Meadowbrook Manor" series. I didn't read the first part but I read the 2nd part and now the 3rd. I enjoyed reading the 2nd part and I enjoyed EVEN MORE reading this 3rd part. This time we focus on Pippa, the youngest sister of the family and the hotel manager. We focus as well on Brooke, this very beautiful and nice American young woman coming to hotel for an extended period of time. Pippa finds something very intriguing in Brooke but just can't put her finger on what feels strange.
It's a very good series of book that I recommend you!
Another exciting chapter with the Singer family. I loved reading about the progressions in the individuals characters lives and interactions with the eccentric villagers. I think I guessed the ending but it took a while to reach the conclusion however this wouldn’t put my off reading any future instalments.
Thank you Netgalley
I didn't realise this book was part of a series when I requested it, but unlike other books I've read recently, it can work as a standalone. I would recommend reading the others in the series though to get the full enjoyment out of the novel and the characters.
This was a nice cute story, easy to read and simple to follow. It revolves around the Singer family, specifically the Singer siblings, who run a hotel in the manor house where they grew up. Each sibling has put a lot of work into restoring the house and it shows through their success in their business. This story focuses on Pippa, the youngest sibling in the Singer family, who has dealt with her own divorce and is now the manager of Meadowbrooke.
The characters were good and I enjoyed that while it was a series, the past books and events weren't constantly referenced and instead Faith Bleasdale actually helpfully fills in any gaps that appear during the reading, in case this is your first novel in the series.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This has in no way influenced my opinions.
If you like the Gilmore Girls, The Ticket to Happiness is the book for you! So cute and sweet.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
I was not familiar with this writer before but will look for her stories again. I enjoyed the storyline and characters. It was great way to spend a rainy day.
This is the third book in the Meadowbrook Manor series and although you could read this book as a standalone novel I would highly recommend reading this fabulous series in order. A beautiful location which I would love to visit. Excellent cast of characters - I enjoyed catching up with them all, seeing how they are getting on and getting to know Pippa better.
This is an entertaining, feelgood story of family, friendships, love and fun. Perfect for a sunny afternoon in the garden, on holiday or snuggled up on the sofa.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I trully enjoyed reading the 3rd Meadowbrook series, and even if you havent read the first two,you can easily follow along the characters.I do recommend reading the first two, more of familiarizing yourself with Meadowbrook and its people,to appreciate the meaning of this charming boutique hotel, its animal sanctuary, the Garden Ladies, the Morris Dancers, and mostly, the bonding of the Singer siblings who previously had to live in the father's Meadowbrook Manor hotel for a year ,in order to inherit it. They bonded so well, they have stayed to run the hotel.
Toby is the baby and new member, as well as other new names in this series.
Pippa, the younger of the family feels threatened by their new young perfect longterm guest , Brooke.. She is attractive and bubbly. as well and can do anything right. Including bonding with her best freind Hector.
He too is a temporary writer guest and is Pippa tkaing him for granted? After all, Theyve been best freinds for quite a long time.
Altho Pippa starts dating Harvey, the workaholic who seems egoistic and selfish(in my eyes), she is beginning to not trust a freind she thought she ha din Brooke.
Her suspicions prove her right...Brooke isnt running away from her family only to be far away from them...Pippa makes a discovery for the real painful truth why Brooke has landed at their Meadowbrook Manor.
A delightful and romance read, Im looking forward to continue reading about the SInger Family with their new additions and surprises.
Lovely light easy happy read, lovely romance, adorable family, didn’t realise this was a series (can be read as standalone though) about a family, going to have to read the others now ! Likeable characters and a great story
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
I love a good family series. This book happens to be number 3 in a series about the Singer family. After reading this installment, I will be going back and reading the others. This book has great family dynamics, an adorable love interest, babies, and a mysterious guest. A light easy summer read.
I'd read the last book about Meadowbrook Hall and it was one of my favourite reads from last year.
This book is set one year on from the opening of the hotel in the last book. It is not necessary to have read 1st two but I recommend it for the enjoyment. The first couple of chapters are an introduction of family and hotel which can be a bit overwhelming with the number of characters if you haven't read others but stick with it
The singer family have a party to celebrate the one year of the hotel with the eccentric villagers. Then comes the arrival of Hector 'the "celebrity"' and Californian Brooke. I got a strong inclination she was going to be too good to be true but i won't give any spoilers about what happens next
I didn't enjoy it as much as the last book but it was lovely to read about the singer family, Meadowbrook hotel and the animal sanctuary again.
I received a free copy through NetGalley in return for an honest review.
This was the perfect read for the start of my easter break. It’s sweet, light-hearted and has just about everything you could want. Even though this book is the third in the series, I was completely fine reading it without knowing anything about the previous books.
The story revolves around the Singer siblings, who run a boutique hotel in the manor they grew up in: Meadowbrooke. It’s recently opened and very successful thanks to the work each sibling has put into it.
The story follows Pippa Singer, the youngest in the family and the manager of Meadowbrooke. She’s dealt with a divorce in the past and has focussed completely on the hotel and keeping her guests happy. There are several celebrations at Meadowbrooke each year which she happily organizes. Just as everything seems to be going right for Pippa, something pops up that ruins everything for not only her, but the entire family.
This family is very realistically written. They have banter, inside jokes, and they’ve grown closer after their father demanded in their will that they spent at least 1 year at Meadowbrooke running the hotel together. I really enjoyed them all, but I think that, besides Pippa, Freddie was one of my favourite characters,
The book starts with one of these celebrations: The one-year anniversary of the hotel. After the celebrations, Hector, a friend of the family, books into the hotel for 3 months so that he can write. I remember that the first thing I thought was: “He could be the potential love-interest for Pippa.
A little later, another guest books into the hotel for 2 months: Brooke. She comes to Meadowbrooke because she needs a break from the life she led there.
However, Brooke didn’t just come to the hotel because she wanted to get away from her problems, but why she left, I’ll leave for you to read!
I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for something short and sweet to read during your easter break!
3.5/5
The latest in this series, set at the hotel that is also the Singer siblings home.
Although the description of this book seems all about Brooke, the book is also about Pippa.
Brooke is staying at the hotel for a few months while she is over from America, looking for the family she has only just found about, but she is keeping a secret that may change things for them all.
Lots of plot lines going on, so it helps if you have read the previous books.
I really enjoyed this book - it has a great plot, excellent main characters and is a real page turner. I would highly recommend this book.
I enjoyed this book so much! It is the 3rd book in the Meadowbrook Manor series. I do believe that you could read each book in this series, without the knowledge of the others, but I would hope you would read all three since they are such heartwarming stories.
The Ticket to Happiness brings us back to the hotel and animal sanctuary owned by the Singer siblings in Parker’s Hollow village. Many of the quirky villagers from the previous stories make an appearance in this book, including the Morris Dancers and the Garden Club Ladies. Reading about them again, made me smile and chuckle over and over again!
The overall theme in the book is about family bonds, accepting each other with their faults and gifts and overcoming difficulties as a family (village) unit. The story brought such a warm feeling to me, almost as if I was also a member of the village.
There are many sub plots going on in this book. I found the reading flying by as I wanted to know the outcome of relationships and situations. The author does an amazing job of description. I feel like I visited Parker’s Hollow and can see the gardens, pub and Meadowbrook Manor in my mind. The characters are also well developed and each personality is unique and life-like. The actions they take are realistic for their personality.
I am hoping there will be more books in this series. I want to continue my time visiting the people that spend time at Meadowbrook Manor.
I want to thank Avon Books UK and NetGalley.com for allowing me to read the Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book. I truly enjoyed this story and will be telling my friends about it, in hopes they will read it. Opinions I share in this review are my own and not influenced by receiving the ARC of this book.
Pippa and her siblings turned their home of Meadowbrook Manor into a hotel after their father passed away just leaving a final wish saying they must live together there for a year.
The single sibling Pippa longs for her partner to come along despite the workload from the hotel all her siblings being in couples makes her question when it'll be her turn as she would love a baby despite going through a divorce and being an auntie.
Her writer friend Hector checks in, a firm family friend with an apart crush on Pippa, he was previously from reality TV and involved in a sex scandal from it making Pippa feel he's immature!
Then American Brooke arrives set for a long stay trying to find her British family after learning that she's not just American...
When Harvey a guest comes and sweeps Pippa off her feet as he's so her type, older, high up job, appreciates her, unlike her ex husband still she can't see how Hector her long term friend feels about her because she feels he's too young for her when he's only two years younger!
As Pippa has to realise her true feelings, she makes a shock surprise discovery about Brooke which tips her and her family's world upside down...
While some parts were predictable and did happen how I thought there's still the drama and element of surprise in how the actions come about. I liked the element of team family as the siblings are all on each others sides especially when trouble strikes as well as each being distinctively different from each other in personality, interests and family set up there's someone you can relate to in some way. In my head the characters came to life and I felt like I was immersed right into the story like I was there at Meadowbrook myself, best read under the beautiful sunshine you won't regret picking up this feel good book!
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!
Meadowbrook Manor, now transformed into a boutique hotel, is running smoothly and the business is a success, providing an escape for those in need of rejuvenation. Californian, Brooke Walker, is looking for just such an escape. An entertaining, feel good read - of family, close ties and new friendships. This is the third book in the Meadowbrook series (preceeded by 'A Year at Meadowbrook Manor' and 'Secrets at Meadowbrook Manor') from Faith Bleasdale and can happily be read as a standalone but there will be enjoyment to be had in reading from the start of the series.
(Review to be published on Amazon)
The premise of this tale is interesting, a family caring for a large home which doubles as a hotel and animal sanctuary and a few other things to top it all off. The Singer family is large and three of the four siblings have found their happily ever afters by the time this book comes around. This is not the first book of the series, something I think hampered my ability to connect with the emotions required for the tale.
This installment is about Pippa, the youngest of the siblings who has had a few hard years and may finally be looking forward to settling down. The day-to-day working of the family and their dynamics made it fun to read. Brooke is an American who books herself into the hotel for an extended period and starts to become a part of their lives. The storyline could have been shorter and I would have loved the book. I realized the twist that was to come too much in advance and I just kept waiting for it to happen. The problem with the length was that certain dialogues, scenarios repeated themselves a few times. It is a good book with heartwarming people but left me a little impatient.
I recommend this to people who like reading this genre and to first check out the other sibling's stories before picking this one up.
