This was an underwhelming and predictable mystery. It tells the story of two sisters who hide from a mysterious past. Emily comes to visit her sister at her request despite her apprehension and is left caring for her niece and nephew after her sister disappears without a trace. The pase of the story is slow and the character development poor. Emily inner dialogues are confusing and annoying. Just not a well written mystery.

An intensive, psychological thriller with plenty of twists and turns, whilst also exploring the complications of mental health. A great debut novel-definitely worth a read.

Emily hasn't been home for twenty years. A childhood trauma has kept her away. But her sister has asked her to come home, saying she needs her.
The night Emily arrived home her sister, Madi, goes missing!
Emily is left to look after her niece and special needs nephew. Madi's husband has recently left her for a younger woman.
Where is her sister and have past events something to do with her disappearance??
This is a very short story but is packed with mystery and intrigue. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this arc.

I found myself being irritated by Emily and her silly actions.
I was disappointed with the ending too.
The Book felt disjointed and all over the place.

Thanks to Netgalley, Killer Reads and the author for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Sometimes you are fortunate to read a book and become so engrossed that you read it all on a lazy Sunday afternoon. which is what I did with, My sister is missing by Carissa Ann Lynch. I found it was an extremely clever and interesting story. It was just that little bit more enthralling than others of a similar genre.
I just enjoyed reading this book and that is all that a reader wants.
Highly recommended.

Emily went to visit her sister Madeline so she could meet her niece and nephew. Emily has not been home since her sister's wedding. Maxi called and wanted Emily to come for a visit and since she had just lost her job she decided to go back to the hometown to visit with her sister's family. The sisters for the kids in bed and talked way in the night . All was not said but that had time Emily was staying for awhile. When Emily got up the next morning her sister was gone at first she thought she went to the store but she don't come home all day. So the next day after looking everywhere she could think of she finally called the cops. And then all kind of stuff comes out about her sister and her friends and another missing girl from years ago. Emily was easy to like I was always rooting for her. Madi's soon to be ex was a little harder to like. I want to thank Netgalley for allowing me to read this wonderful book for an honest review.

This book starter out decent but just kind of died out at the end. The ending was both predictable and I believable. I didn’t really enjoy this book.

Loved this book from the very first page!! Kept me in a bit of a trance until I was finished. Very chilling, thrilling, and twisted. A book that will give you chills, while also making you gasp! I highly recommend to my fellow thriller lovers.
Will be using in a challenge, reviewing, and recommending in Chapter Chatter Pub!

A short read. But a really good one. I curled up on my settee with the wind and rain battering outside and devoured this in an afternoon.
The title gives the story away and it’s a rollercoaster of twists. Buy it!!
5/5 on goodreads

Killer Reads and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of My Sister is Missing. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

Emily Ashburn is asked by her sister Madeline to come visit her in their hometown, giving a cryptic response when queried as to why the information cannot be given over the phone. Having bad memories of the place, Emily has mainly stayed away. Heeding her sister's request, Emily arrives and gets acquainted with her niece and nephew, all the while catching up with her sister. When she awakens the next morning to find her sister missing, Emily's annoyance quickly turns into fear when her sister does not reappear. Does Emily's past, especially the part that she cannot remember, have something to do with her sister's disappearance?

My Sister is Missing received many 5 star reviews, but my experience with the novel was very different. Although the premise should have been compelling, I felt no connection to the characters. Emily has no depth and I found it hard to believe that a single person, reliant on no one but herself, was basically unable to cook anything but boxed macaroni and cheese. Despite having no experience, Emily was able to investigate better than the trained professionals, which was unrealistic. The suspicion and finger pointing got old fast and I found my attention wandering while I read. For these reasons, I would be hesitant to recommend My Sister is Missing to other readers.

My Sister Is Missing, what a thrill ride! I really enjoyed how short this book was, the story was well developed with nothing lacking. The writing was superb, I felt the words as though I was actually experiencing it myself not just watching it unfold in my mind.

Recently laid off, Emily, receives an invitation to return to her hometown and visit her sister, Madeline. Emily hasn't returned to her hometown for 20 years but the timing seems right. She wants to meet her niece and nephew, and her sister says she has something important to tell her. After a long overdue reunion, Emily wakes up to find her sister is missing without a trace. As she searches for answers while trying desperately to convince local police that she could be in danger, she stumbles on an old boyfriend and memories she doesn't want to revisit within her own backyard.

This was an enjoyable thriller. I do think this storyline has been visited again and again but there was a slightly different spin on this one. If you are looking for an quick, enjoyable thriller then check out "My Sister is Missing", available now.

Thank you to NegGalley and Killer Reads for the opportunity to read an advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest review.

Emily’s sister Madeline has asked Emily to return home. These two sisters have not been on the best of terms lately. Emily has not even met Madeline’s children. But they are sisters, so Emily returns to her family home and the mystery surrounding her accident.

Emily and Madeline have a nice catch up session on Emily’s first night home. But, when Emily wakes up the next morning, Madeline is no where to be found. She thinks Madeline just went to the store. When Madeline stays gone for over 24 hours Emily becomes obsessed with finding her.

I really don’t know what I think about Emily. I started out not liking her very much. But she becomes a better person as the tale moves along. And move along it does! Just when I had it figured out the story twisted, NOT ONCE BUT SEVERAL TIMES. Emily’s past accident, Paul, Emily’s ex-boyfriend, is the cop assigned to the case, a cryptic message for Madeline, a VHS tape, all lead to a gripping conclusion.

This is a lightening fast read. This would be a great book for traveling. And for $2.99, I would snatch this up! It is captivating, suspenseful and very engaging. There were places I forgot to breathe!

I liked this book. Has twist and turns you do not see coming. The store was a little slower for me. Took me a while to get into it, but once I did the writing was wonderful.

My Sister Is Missing is a who dunnit thriller that for me lacked the excitement of a book of this genre so for me fell flat, this is not to say this a bad read as it’s not as there were some good twists and the general plot was good. Sensitive issues could have been handled better also.
Emily and Madeline are sisters that haven’t seen each other for quite a few years. Maddie is a mother now and invites Emily to stay with them as she has just split up from her husband and she has a secret that she needs to tell her. Once Emily arrives, the next morning Maddie is not at home, her car is missing so Emily assumes she has gone out for some food shopping, Maddie isn’t answering her phone and it’s now 24 hours later and she’s still not back.
This book with a bit more thought could have produced the excitement required for a 5 star read but unfortunately this is what it lacked. I did enjoy this quick read though and would read more by Carissa Ann Lynch.
I would like to thank Netgalley and HarperImpulse and Killer Reads for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

The author wrote a thriller that started with a bang and just kept going! The twists kept coming, so I couldn't put it down. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

This is an atmospheric tale, with a small town setting, twisty plot and well-crafted characters. Excellent pacing and flow make this such an absorbing and easy read.

Told from Emily's point of view, as she answers her sister's request to return to her home town after many years of absence, you discover that Emily is not keen to return, but the reasons why only become clear as the story progresses.

Ordinary events take on sinister connations and everyone has secrets. Emily's fear and not knowing who to trust comes across well in this story. She feels alone and vulnerable, but this is what makes her determined to solve her sister's disappearance, whatever the personal cost.

A good domestic suspense novel, that draws the reader in, from the first page.

Haunting!

Addictive!

I read this book with a certain kind of eagerness, I haven’t felt in a long time! Devouring page after page after page. Ignoring my every day activities and responsibilities. This book consumed me! Excitement and suspense ran through my blood. What the heck happened to her sister??? I NEEDED to know!!!

This book was so beautifully creepily written.
So many twists and turns that were flawlessly executed and they left you gasping out loud for more.

This book will haunt me.

Carissa Ann Lynch’s BEST work yet!

My Sister is Missing is a thriller that revolves around, you guessed it, a missing sister, and although it started off well, by about 50% I lost interest as it was not as exciting as it should have been. However, there were some interesting twists in the tale, and it's well plotted as well as moving at quite a clip. It's a quick, non-taxing read, but i felt it discussed some important issues in a lighthearted manner, and they could've been treated more sensitively.

With a background in psychology, Lynch has always been a little obsessed with the darker areas of the mind, but she could've used this knowledge much better throughout the book. A lot of the happenings could be described as serendipity at best, contrived at worst. That being said, this is still a decent, entertaining read.

Many thanks to Killer Reads for an ARC.
