Brilliant book, where has my sister gone? Why has she gone? When the past is hidden or bottled up, it will find a way to come back somehow and this is what happens here. Lovely story with great characters. You can really feel their presence in the story. Would love to read a book before this explaining all the past too.
Brill.
This was a good suspense book with some twists and turns. It touches on the effects of bullying in school and just how cruel kids can beand how early bullying can start. The main character was kind of likable but I didn’t have a huge draw to her. It ended a bit abruptly but overall a good book. Thank you NetGalley for an ARC copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Ugh. This one was just not well-written or remotely engaging. You can pass
Carissa Ann Lynch writes a mystery worth reading.
My Sister is Missing will keep you turning page after page.
Who took Madeline? Her ex-husband? Did she take off on her own?
Emily will stop at nothing to find her sister no matter the cost.
I can not wait to get my hands on another Carissa Ann Lynch book!
Emily’s sister Madeline calls her home after an estrangement of many years and promises to tell her a secret. When Emily awakens the next morning, her young nephew and niece are in the home, but her sister is missing. There are many potential suspects in Madi’s disappearance, and a side story about Emily’s nephew.
The novel travels back a little to explain the missing parts. The ending is unexpected and realistic. I would read more novels by Carissa Ann Lynch. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to be an early reader in exchange for my review.
Ever since their parent's divorce, Emily and Maddie have been estranged as their mum passed away first and then their dad. Emily lived with her mum and Maddie with her Dad. Now Emily has been called back home as Maddie has a secret to tell her. Maddie is separated from her husband and has been raising her two children. That's not the secret though, but just as Maddie is about to tell Emily - she disappears. 24 Hours pass and that grows into a week and then a month. Where has Maddie gone too? As strange messages appear, Maddie soon learns that her sister's disappearance could be related to Sarah's over twenty years ago. Also, we learn that the day Emily hit her head in the woods was the same day as Sarah vanished without a trace. We also know what small towns can be like with their hidden secrets and protecting one another and Bear Border is no stranger to that reputation.
If you enjoy cold cases and mysteries and past/present novels, then you will enjoy the experience of My Sister is Missing by Carissa Ann Lynch.
This is a nove, that gets you stuck in from the very start- it is a fast paced read and it keeps you gripped throughout.
The plot and characters are well written and it is an excellent storyline.
Thank you to both NetGalley and Killer Reads for my eARC of this book in exchange for my honest unbiased review
A slow burner for me. Sisters who haven't seen each other for a long time reunite, only for one of them to go missing almost immediately. Nothing much happens for a while, concern builds slowly and then things go from concern to panic. Everyone's a suspect, but what's the motive? A good, decent thriller with a surprisingly poignant ending.
Emily returns to the small town she grew up and hasn’t returned to for some time. She stays with her sister, Madi, and her two kids. The next day Madi disappears and Emily is determined to find out what happened.
This was an intriguing read but didn’t quite grip me completely but I enjoyed it. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

My sister is missing is a chilling tale.
This is my first book by this author and what a great book to start with, it is well written and has so many twists and turns I was hooked from the start.
It starts off with Emily going back to her childhood home and she hasn’t been here back here in years she is visiting her sister Madi, her sister tells her she has something to tell her but before she has a chance to tell Emily what it is she goes missing and this is where the twists and turns. This book is full of Mystery, secrets are revealed. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read more from this author.
A twenty-year-old local mystery that has never been solved. A bone-chilling VHS tape depicting a horrific crime. Neighbors with something to hide. And a sister who is missing.
Emily has to find out the truth. But is her sister Madeline the victim…or the one to blame?
This was one of those rare finds, a quick and exciting read that will suck you in from page one and doesn't let go until the very end!

Read this book in a day! Super easy read and interesting story line that keeps you engaged and curious from the beginning. This was the first book I've read by Carissa Ann Lynch and I enjoyed her writing style. I was trying to figure out what happened right up the end and the ending wasn't what I expected at all! I was just sure the antagonist was someone else and the ending was surprising, but wrapped up the story well. Overall, really enjoyed!
Having moved far away from the town I grew up in, with family there still and rarely visiting, this story reached deep Into my core.
It’s a wonderful story of homecoming to visit family, revisit the past and uncover the truths that have been secrets for too many years.
The mystery begins very quickly into the story, as Emily is back to her childhood hometown visiting her sister Madi for the first time in over a decade, and her two young children whom she has never met.
Her sister tells her before bed that her husband had run off with his secretary and that she has a big secret to share in the morning.
Emily wakes up the next morning and her sister is gone.
The story is very well told from Emily’s POV as she looks into her sisters current life and past experiences to try and unravel the mystery of where she disappeared to.
Dark secrets, death and mystery reveal themselves to a twisted and very satisfying ending that is not expected. I couldn’t put this book down and look forward to reading more of Carissa’s fiction.
A great read, well written, interesting characters and an excellent page turner.
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Impulse Killer Reads for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
A great tense read! Full of gripping moments and twists and turns.
The story was exciting to read and the characters were fleshed out well.
What a beautifully written piece of thrill, murder, mystery, sister bonds, and secrets. I was on edge the entire time.
I was hooked from page one. The authors writing is exceptional and so poignant. I felt like I was in the house right there with Emily.
Every character was so well developed and the plot flowed so smooth. It was a short read, just under 200 pages, but it was packed full of bone chilling events, one after another.
I want to read more of the authors books now! She made me a big fan with her relatable characters.
ALL the STARS ⭐️

Emily hadn't been back to her home town of Bear Border since her sister's wedding nine years ago,she hadn't even gone back for her father's funeral. The town and especially her childhood home Bear Border Inn held too many painful memories. Something bad happened to Emily in the thick woods that surrounded two sides of the inn when she was younger. She couldn't fully recall what had happened, the details of that day were all sketchy, she just knew that she hated those woods. She didn't want to be here but her older sister Madeline had insisted that she come and stay for a while. Her sister had something that she wanted to talk about but she refused to reveal what it was over the phone.
Only the morning after Emily's return, she gets up and discovers that Madeline has mysteriously disappeared. At first she thinks that Madeline has gone shopping but as more time passes and there is no sign of her sister,Emily's initial anger turns into concern. Madeline might like playing pranks but she would never abandon her beloved young children especially her autistic son Ben.
When Emily starts a desperate search to find her sister, she finds herself caught up in a complex mystery that has fingers that reach back into the past.
A horrific crime was committed twenty years ago and almost everyone has something to hide.
Emily has to find out the truth. But was her sister a victim or the one to blame.
My Sister Is Missing is a riveting, gripping mystery that is told entirely from Emily's point of view in chapters that are set in the present day. Throughout the book,Emily takes us into the past where we learn about her school days and her relashionship with her sister when they were younger. We also witness the bullying of a young girl who had learning disabilities,a story that had parallels with young Ben being bullied in the present day because of his autism. I have a son who was bullied at school because of his autism,I think it's really sad that although modern society pretends to be more understanding there is still a lot of stigma and ignorance about people who have certain disabilities. I really liked Emily,I loved her patience with Ben when he was having difficulty coping with everyday life and no knowing where his mum was. I loved her feisty, no nonsense attitude and her fierce determination to find out what had happened to Madeline. Bear Border was the typical small town where everyone knew everyone else's business but some of the small cast of realistic characters in this book had some shocking hidden secrets and were definitely untrustworthy. I loved the author's intense, vivid portrayal of Emily's fear and terror when she was in the woods. Deep forests always seem to have a otherworldly atmosphere even in broad daylight it's easy to get spooked whilst walking through them.
This is not a very long book but the author has certainly managed to pack a lot into the 197 pages. It's a well written, fast paced thriller that is packed full of twists and turns, mystery and suspense. I was hooked in from the very first page and was very disappointed when I finished the book because I didn't want the story to end. Worth far more than five stars and highly recommended by little old me.
