I've been waiting for Legend and Pepper's story since the sparks started to fly between these two neighbors and the plastic flamingos graced the driveway! I knew this enemies to lovers story was going to pack a punch, but I didn't expect it to pull on my heartstrings as much as it did. Legend can be read as a standalone, but it would be best enjoyed in order since many characters (including the hero and heroine) appear in the previous books.
I'm not usually a big fan of the surprise/secret baby trope, but seeing Legend as a dad really made it work. He often was so serious in the prior books, that seeing him gush and fawn over his little girl, Charlie, really changed my view on him. I loved that he faced fatherhood head on and embraced this new and unexpected twist in his life. Legend and Pepper were such a great couple too! They always had fantastic chemistry, so it was no surprise that things took off when these two started to spend real time together. Their personalities definitely complemented the other and even though things progressed rapidly, it felt organic given their history and current situation. I will admit that at first I was worried that Legend was using Pepper as a crutch, but time and time again he squashed those concerns by being open and honest with Pepper about his feelings and concerns. It's always refreshing when characters don't make drama for the sake of drama and actually talk and work things out as adults. Don't worry though drama lovers! There is plenty of drama to go around in Legend, from issues with the baby mama to teammates in crisis and coping with their own grief and loss. This was a really entertaining read and I love how Sawyer Bennett continues to plant the seeds for Dax and Tacker's stories. I'm positive that Tacker's story is going to rip my heart out. I can't wait ;)
*I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*
Sawyer Bennett certainly know how to write a Hockey Series and just when you think you have read the best out pops another Hockey hottie you can dream about in this case it’s Legend Bay’s story.
We may have met Legend and Pepper briefly in the previous books but that doesn’t mean this book can’t be read as a stand-alone because this is the book that we really get to know the neighbours who love to hate each other......
As goalie for the Arizona Vengeance Legend knows what is expected of him and he knows what to expect of his teammates, he likes order in his life what he doesn’t like is the over the top neighbor who insists on putting pink flamingos in his front yard. Pepper is the complete opposite of Legend she is loud, colourful and she loves to tease her hot neighbor. These two may drive each other nuts but when it comes down to the nitty gritty it’s Pepper that Legend turns to when he finds a unusual package on his front doorstep.......
This book has all the feels you want in a great read, it has love, drama, some hearbreaking moments as well as some seriously hot scenes. When this author started her second hockey series I wondered where she would take us, could she better a series I already loved and swooned over, well I should never have doubted her because Legend has topped them all and it will certainly be in my top reads of 2019. I loved the characters and their witty banter, I loved the support and the friendships formed in this series and I’m telling you to one click this must read !!!!!!
This is a standalone romance in a series of interconnecting characters of a hockey team that plays in Arizona and this is Legand Bay's story, he is the teams goalie. He has a HATE relationship with his neighbor Pepper until one day he finds a baby on his doorstep and then when he asks Pepper for help she is totally there for him.
I am a huge Sawyer Bennett fan and I love her hockey series but this book was really different than the others in the series. For one Pepper has really great backstory which made the whole thing more poignent with Legend finding a baby on his doorstep and then the end of the book has a very dramatic set of circumstances that really made this story so dramatic.
The characters in the story were pretty great and I loved watching Pepper and Legend really see and fall for each other whie faling in love with this little baby. This is now a new favorite of mine in this series.
My favorite book by Sawyer Bennett features another goalie, and yes, Legend almost unseated him as my favorite. This book, and Legend and Pepper’s story, was absolute perfection. The twists, turns, and a little bit of crazy mix so well with the romance and sexy times. This book is definitely going to be thought of as “Legendary” by readers, and yeah, goalies are definitely the best in Sawyer’s hockey worlds!
WOW! Pepper and Legend.... you knew it was coming.... and what fun, scary and in the end fantastic it was.
If you have read the other books you have seen the tension between Legend and his neighbor Pepper (and have had a laugh at his expense) on the things she has done to get under his skin. Pepper the free spirit, easy going children's author who thinks her hockey player neighbor is hot as hell and has a stick up his a** does not know how to bridge the gap in their relationship.
Legend, a very controlled, everything has it place and order does not know what to do with his sexy neighbor who seems to think that breaking every single rule the homeowners have for their community it is fate in life drives him crazy! but..... he would love to get to know her a little more....but how when all they have ever done to each other is piss each other off?
Well.... all it takes is a baby.... yep, a baby to put everything into perspective. (and a crazy birth mom) and maybe add in a little you never know how much you need someone in your life until you find them and see them in a totally different light.
The connection between Pepper and Legend is off the charts however they both are not ready for a true relationship so they are fine with sex for sex, until it is no longer that and then the drama begins, do they both know what they have? or will it be lost before they ever acknowledge it to each other because everyone else can see it. There are some CRAZY twists that are shocking in this one....
LOVED it!
~ 4.5 Stars ~
We get more of the Arizona Vengeance with the latest release of Legend by Sawyer Bennett.
I absolutely LOVE the Vengeance hockey players. Their lives are so entwined with each other. If you loved Sawyer’s Cold Fury players, you HAVE to meet the players of the Vengeance hockey team.
I truly enjoyed the storyline of Legend and I truly found Legend and Pepper entertaining. I will say I found that this story dragged a little in spots, so that’s why it wasn’t a 5 star read for me. But still worth the read.
Legend is a standalone novel, but I truly believe this series should be read in order. We don’t get epilogues in this series and that is because the characters lives from the other books keep playing out in this next books. This story is told in Dual POV, but we do get more of Legend’s POV. As with the other books Sawyer gives a great mix of humor, romance, steam and drama. That always keeps the readers turning the pages.
In this book we follow neighbors Legend and Pepper. Legend is the goalie for the Vengeance hockey team and Pepper is the quirky neighbor next door that drives him crazy. That is until an unexpected package is left on Legend’s front porch one night. Needing help he calls on Pepper to get him through the first couple of days. What neither of them expected was that they have things in common and love to hang out with each other. But what happens when the past comes back to haunt Legend?? Can they get through everything to get their HEA?? Read this story to find out.
I liked seeing more of Dax and Tracker in this story. We definitely got to learn more about Tracker and the pain he is going through. Seeing all the past couples was great as well. We get to see what they are up to know a days. I still love that we get some cameos from the Cold Fury team. Those always make me smile :)
If you are a fan of enemies to lovers with a sports theme to your romance then you should pick up Legend. Once you meet the players of the Arizona Vengeance you will be hooked!!!
5 star Review Legend (Arizona Vengeance #3) by Sawyer Bennett
I love the men of Cold Fury but boy do the men of the Arizona Vengeance give them a run for their money. Legend I think may be my favourite to date and that is saying something since I absolutely loved both the previous two books in this series.
Firstly let me put this out there, Legend Bay is MINE, no arguments, no sharing. However I do think that feisty and quirky Pepper Nantais is the perfect heroine for him.
Returning home Legend is shocked to find a present has been left for him. From the first chapter Sawyer Bennett packed such a punch that I was reeling and totally hooked.
I loved Legend to me he was a guy determined to make life better and he most assuredly had me swooning. I admire the strength and determination both Legend and Pepper bring to the story.
There were so many OMG moments in Legend that I am being careful so that I do not spoil anything. With that being said, this is a book that you need to one click. Yo won’t be disappointed.
There is plenty of action on and off the ice and I cannot wait to see where Sawyer Bennett takes this team and I am excited for the next release in the series.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.
Legend Bay is just that...a legend. What a good man!!! Normally, when you read a sports themed book, the hero is cocky and generally a little bit douchey in the beginning. I didn't get that vibe with Legend. He was thoughtful, sweet, and just a good person. Except to Pepper, of course.
Now, let me say something about Pepper. I. Loved. Her!!!! I adored her sass! She was fun and the perfect fit for Legend.
OMG Legend stole my heart. I loved how he managed to handle every situation with grace and control. Loved how he cared for everyone. Not only the people he is responsible for. He is a man every other man needs to aspire to be. Everything in this book felt new and surprising. There are struggles happening that not only involve the main characters but their friends. And you feel for them. It awakens in you the urge to help too. Pepper is amazing and extremely supportive. But who wouldn't be that invested with a man like Legend? She is the right fit for him, even if at the beginning she loved driving him crazy mad with her taste in decorations. You will fall in love with him and with the story. In short, these characters give meaning to the word family. And this book is exciting and fresh. Really took me by surprise. Legend and Pepper are champions, handling and adapting like chameleons to a life spiraling out of control. But they got each others back.
Legend is the third book in the Arizona Vegeance series by author Sawyer Bennett, and here I have to confess that while the first two books were ok for me, this book came to occupy the post of me preferred until now. He's great and I loved every page.
Here we have the story of Legend, a single guy who does not want to change his lifestyle soon and who is struggling with his neighbor Pepper. But all that changes one night when Legend finds a baby at the door of his house with a note saying that he is the father, there overnight he not only has to get used to the idea that he is a father, but he sees in Pepper a great support at that time. And so you can see the relationship between him and Pepper turn into something more and at the same time we see him dealing with the recent discovery.
This story does not have many surprises, it is easy to guess what was going to happen but with captivating writing and a cute story it was impossible for me not to fall in love with these characters.I loved Legend and the mature form as he dealt with the fact of being a father now and also with the relationship with Pepper. Pepper is also not behind and it was great to see her helping him and gradually see her feelings grow and see how they navigated and sought to communicate.
Another positive point was to see old acquaintances and be introduced and to whet the curiosity to what I imagine to be the next protagonists of this series.
Legend is an incredibly sweet, romantic story with blasts of suspense that made it an extremely enjoyable and captivating read.
4 stars...
Legend Bay takes life seriously. He is a level-headed and extremely focused goalie for the Arizona Vengeance. He likes order, rules, and control. He is not looking for a serious relationship or anything to tie him down. His wacky neighbor, Pepper drives him to distraction with her vibrant, Bohemian ways and tacky lawn art. She is a children's author and illustrator, and is often around. They both annoy and fascinate each other at the same time.
They love to outdo and challenge the other. And then one day his life changes in a way he never imagined. And Pepper is who he calls on for help. And suddenly they are thrust into a situation requiring them to work together. The more time they spend together, the more their differences don't seem to matter and the attraction seems to grow.
This was sweet, sexy, heartwarming, and had some suspense and drama. I really liked both Legend and Pepper's personalities. They were mature and communicated. They had great chemistry and balanced each other out. I found Legend to be pretty adept at making these big transitions in his life. Their change from enemies to friends to lovers flowed easily. Neither was really looking for love, but they just kind of fell into it. The romance was sweet, hot, and was relatively without relationship angst. But there was definite drama from external sources that drove the plot. Some things were a bit predictable, but some were not. But this was an easy read to get sucked into, and I really did enjoy these characters and their story.
I liked getting more with Bishop, Brooke, Erik, Bleu, Dax, and Tacker and even a couple of other cameos. I am really interested in both Dax and Tacker's stories now as there were some more teases. They have the potential to be more emotional due to the subject matter.

Amazing! The best book from this author ever! I loved it from beginning to end! What a ride! It was simply sweet and wonderful
Very much enjoyed this installment in this newest Hockey series. I am a sucker for single dad stories but this one had the element of being a surprise for everyone - dad included! Also add to that the enemies to friends and then lovers between the main characters. It all added up to one packed story but it was good in all the best ways. So many emotions, so much heat and so much intrigue as well.
You won't go wrong with this story at all. If anything I thought that the sports element came a distant 3rd in the story but it wasn't really missed. Lots to love and I give this one 4.5 stars!
Legend by Sawyer Bennett tells the story of Legend and Pepper and can be read as a stand-a-lone, but it would be helpful to read the previous two books in the Arizona Vengeance series.
Legend finds a newborn baby on his doorstep and seeks Pepper, his neighbor’s assistance. We have met both in the previous books and I was excited that Sawyer Bennett finally told Pepper and Legend’s story. Legend is mature for his age and takes to being a father with ease, even through difficult times with the baby’s mother. Pepper is a free spirit and fun. She brings color to Legend’s life and truly cares for his daughter, “Charlie”. She helps him along the way and a beautiful relationship develops.
This is a wonderful addition to the series and I loved that other players were included. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
If I didn't know better, I'd think that Sawyer Bennett is really a guy hockey player in real life. She really knows how to write a hockey romance!
This book is Legend Bay's story! After first meeting Pepper Nantais in Erik's story....where Legend and Pepper clashed...you just knew these two would get together. Legend grew up in a military household so he likes his life very orderly. As the goalie for the Arizona Vengeance, Legend follows a very strict regiment that has worked well for him. When Legend moved into his house he didn't realize that his new hot neighbor, Pepper, was so over the top. She likes her life loud and colorful and it drives him nuts. These two love to spar and drive each other nuts but when Legend finds something unusual on his front porch, the first person he goes to for help is Pepper.
As Legend and Pepper deal with this new situation, they grow closer and Legend starts to realize that there is way more to Pepper than he ever realized. Just when it looks like these two are going to get a happy ending. someone from Legend's past has to go and cause trouble. In the long run, it ends up just making Pepper and Legend even closer.
This was a wonderful, fun and sexy story. I loved all of the characters involved and can't wait for Dax and Tacker's stories!
I absolutely adore this series and these hockey stars. Each player has a unique story to tell and with each subsequent book, I find myself becoming even more captivated by the Arizona Vengeance.
I was completely surprised by the direction that Legend’s story took. I expected a heated will-they/won’t-they romance between Legend and his plastic-pink-flamingo-loving neighbour, Pepper, but I couldn’t have foreseen a story involving an unexpected baby.
When Legend finds a baby on his doorstep he is stunned but immediately steps up as a father. Having only known the baby’s mother for a short time, he is shocked when he realises that he had left her pregnant and alone. Not knowing what to do with the baby, Legend turns to his frustrating but gorgeous neighbour, Pepper, who immediately steps up without fuss. It doesn’t take long before both Legend and Pepper find themselves jointly raising little Charlie and bonding over Charlie results in them becoming romantically involved.
As expected in all good romance stories, it’s not long before drama hits as Charlie’s mother arrives on the scene and suddenly, Legend, Pepper and Charlie find their new life at risk as Charlie’s mother wants her baby back.
The ongoing characters and team story continues in the background of this book and, as expected, they welcome Charlie into their lives with love and gifts.
There is an underlying sadness which continues in this story and that relates to Tacker’s emotional state of mind as he continues to struggle on after the death of his fiancee. Despite crying out for Tacker’s story, the next book will be Dax’s and I can’t wait to read it.
I always said there was a fine line between love and hate. Pepper and Legend are opposites, however, you know how they attract. When they finally get together...FIREWORKS!
A big man with a little baby always makes me weak in the knees. The way he loves his child and dedicates himself to her is just heartwarming. Thankfully, he had Pepper to help him through all of the newness and heartache. Pepper is Legend's perfect mate.
Loved this story!
After finishing Erik’s book I couldn’t wait to find out where Legend and Pepper’s journey would take them and I wasn’t disappointed in any way. It had all the pieces I love in a story woven together seamlessly. It was sweet, smexy, swoon worthy and filled with heart and add in a good dose of drama and characters I NEED more of...well, this one just did it for me in every way.
I loved Pepper. She is definitely a free spirit, but she isn’t a ditz. She is grounded, compassionate and sassy and owns everything she does with a confidence that I couldn’t help but adore. Legend surprised me, in a good way. Yes, he likes order and can be a bit of a stick in the mud, but beneath that regimented exterior is a true heart of gold with a good dose of dirty smexy tossed in for good measure.
Legend and Pepper’s journey was a pleasant surprise from start to finish. I honestly expected a little more...angst, a little more push/pull, but what I got were two adults ~ who had been at odds initially ~ tossed into a crazy situation and found that they were everything the other thought they’d be and everything they couldn’t have expected but ended up loving. I enjoyed their bantering and how honest they were with each other. The smexy was HAWT and I loved where they ended up when everything was said and done.
This baby is chock full of stuff going on. There are sweet things, funny things, heartbreaking things and even a little bit of craycray that goes on, but it was all done and handled very well. As you know, I love well written secondary characters and having characters from previous books pop up and be apart of the story and this one had that in spades, it even had a little taste of the Cold Fury in it which had me all KINDS of happy. But as for the Vengeance crew...I loved catching up with Bishop, Brooke, Erik and Blue ~ I’m really enjoying watching as their relationships continue to evolve. And then there is Dax and Tacker. While Tacker is still that ‘unicorn’ character for me (especially after all that happens in this one) Dax has definitely peaked my interest and I cannot wait to get my hand on his book!
I am so loving this new hockey series by Sawyer!
Follow the story of Legend, who can't stand the outlandish yard displays his neighbor Pepper continues to put in her yard! Until one fateful night, he runs to her for help and she's there for him at the time to help him through it and be there by his side.
I will not go into details on this review, I feel it's best to read along and feel the experiences like I did!I will tell you that you will swoon over Legend! 5 stanley cups for this one, grab it as soon as it's available! And I'm so looking forward to the next in this series!
I have loved all of Sawyer Bennett's hockey players and Legend was no exception. It tugged at my emotions with the baby storyline. The wild and crazy mama storyline was predictable but still a great touch to the story. I am not a sports fan and you don't have to be to enjoy any of these books. They are all standalone books so you can start with any of them. When you read one you will want to read them all.
