DNF
Not going to sugar coat it. By the time the dude did his 10th round of coke, and pinched his nose shut, in a matter of pages I bounced. I was beyond bored. Also didn't enjoy the author's writing style.
One star rating only because NetGalley requires us to rate.
Highly enjoyed this one! It kept me engaged throughout and was a joy to read, would certainly recommend!
Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read and review this ARC. Full review to be found on Goodreads and on my website.
Really enjoyed this book. Great plot and engaging, believe characters. I was drawn right into the story. Would definitely recommend.
This book was just an okay read. Although there were a few twists in it the story overall was quite predictable and did not keep me interested.
I feel like this is one of those books where the genius of the book is in the writing. Some books leave you liking the plot because it was so crazy and kept you on your toes, liking the characters because how how well the author wrote them to be mess, and liking the reading experience because you truly don’t know how it will end. This is one of those books.
I don’t usually read books like this - so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was one of those books that I needed to sit with after I finished to decide how I truly felt about it. I enjoyed it -3.5 stars based on my personal preferences.
If you like suspense books/thrillers, you’ll want to give this a read!
It's a page turner kind of book, I had to keep reading and couldn't put it down. Jason Allen writing is really addictive. All the characters in this book are pretty much a hot mess! It's an atmospheric reading and definitely worth it.
I am sorry for not reviewing fully but I don’t have the time to read this at the moment. I believe that it wouldn't benefit you as a publisher or your book if I only skimmed it and wrote a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for not fully reviewing!
I enjoyed this boom but was disappointed by the ending. It seemed abrupt and unfinished. Overall I would give it 3 stars.
The East End is a literary work that was poetically written. A rather depressing story, with challenges of the uber wealthy as well as struggling working class. Everyone has their secrets and battles to fight. Sometimes, they come out all right, other times it's not as neat and tidy. This was a hearbreaking and very real tale with addiction, murder, and strife.
Great book! Couldn’t wait to read it, and it didn’t disappoint! Grabbed my attention within the first two chapters, and then I didn’t want to put it down. Excellent character development - I think that every reader will find a character to whom they relate. I enjoy books where there is character development, and then also a surprise, and this book provided both! Looking forward to reading more from this author!

I will start with the good: this book was very compelling. I just had to keep reading to see what happened next. The bad: it seems more like a soap opera type drama book than anything else. Don't get me wrong, I usually get sucked into soap operas when they are on TV, but I don't see them out. The worst: The characters in this book are not very likable in my opinion.
A book that should still be receiving buzz! Loved the covers of both hardcover and paperback. You can tell the author knows what he writes as the details of the Hamptons locale plunks you right in the heart of the homes, community and perspectives of the varying classes. Keep turning the pages for the powerful finish! If you aren’t quite ready for summer to be over begin reading The East End!
Woah. This book follows many points of view on a WILD weekend. Not only were there many viewpoints, but this book also has some clashes of class, relationships, and much more.
The book did not end how I expected, but I was along for the ride.
I would suggest this book.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
I picked this book up, put it down, picked it up, put it down... until I had to just DNF it :/ unfortunately, though I wanted to know what happened after “the incident” at the beginning, it took 50% of the book to just introduce all the characters and give a base. I couldn’t keep reading it due to lack of plot movement. The writing was good but a bit too run on.
I enjoyed this book, not particularly how the characters lived but, found it interesting to follow their lives.
It was an easy read that didn’t take to long. Just a nice diversion from my typical reads.
While the writing, in and of itself was good, engaging even, the plot did not hold my interest. I found it very repetitive and not very revealing, circling back numerous times on information and events that happened in the first 50 or so pages without additional insight or plot/character development. With such a promising premise, execution could and should have been much better.
The wealthy always appear to have it all. Especially when you are viewing their social media accounts. We only ever see one side of their lives and that's always the side that they want us to see. You never know what secrets they have lurking beneath the surface. Secrets that when exposed can threaten to ruin more than one life in the process.
Corey has watched the wealthy all of his life. Wondering what it would be like to live the glamours lifestyles of those who visit the Hamptons each summer. So much that he's begun to break into their houses just to see how the other side lives. That hobby though will end up linking him to the secret of a very powerful man. A man that can ruin his entire family if he wanted too.
A story that takes you inside the wealthy and how they live. The secrets that they harbor and the lives of those that serve them.
The whole story takes place over one weekend- when a tragic accident brings together some unlikely people and connects them forever. I enjoyed this book, it was a bit anti-climatic at the end but overall it was well written.
Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin.
This book was not for me. I tried to like it but it feel short. Slow paced
Characters were not likeable. Well written.
