Another entertaining story from Leslie North! Not an overly long read and the character development is well done, even if I'm not a big fan of Elena
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is book 2 in a series. It reads well as a stand alone. I will say up front I only got this because I enjoy most books by Leslie North. I am NOT a fan of mafia books. I liked the story, but tried to forget the mafia aspect. Still just not my thing. 3 stars
Elena was simply high maintenance. She wanted the best in life and completing her father’s directive should be easy. Not everything in life is as it seems. Sometimes evil lurks in the shadows and finding out will change how you view your entire life. Finding love and forgiveness where only hate and distrust should exist she builds a new life for herself and finally begins to feel safe.
The second book in the new series, and now Elena Popov, Alexandrea’s best friend. Now Elena’s father wants her to pretend that she is defecting in order to get close to Viktor her best friend’s husband and enemy of Elena’s father. Roman Garinovich has thought that Elena is a pain since the first day he met her. Now being asked to go get her from Russia and bring her back to Boston he knows she is. He also knows that when she is asleep with her mouth closed she is a gorgeous women, even when she is talking back to him she is gorgeous as well. After she helps him with a problem with the plane during the flight, you would think he would begin to trust her. He would like to but when he sees someone he knows from the Russian Army he must tell her he knows something about her father and a secret he has kept from her for years. This secret not only bounds her with Roman but ends all contact she has from her father. A very good story after a good first book. I really liked the two main characters.
This is a page-turning read with a number of twists and turns that will catch you off guard. I also enjoyed the snarky dialogue and the intense dislike between Elena and Roman until, of course, their true feelings explode on the pages.
FALLING FOR THE MOB SOLDIER, the second book in Leslie North's Sokolov Brothers series is an action-packed, heartbreaking Russian mob-themed read.

I enjoyed getting to know more about Roman. I wasn’t a big fan of Elena. The third book should be interesting.
Roman Garinovich Escorts Elena to the opposition mob compound to complete her secret mission for her friend. Sparks fly as they must learn to trust each other. Second book in Sokolov brothers series keeps the reader engaged til the last page. Ready for the next book for this series.
Ebook from net galley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
Wow, this is one interesting story that captivates from the twist and turns abound with all the drama, action, pulse racing, page turning and entertaining book. The characters are amazing and really suited each other and their chemistry was like it was jumping off the pages at you. Totally loving this series and can’t wait for more books by this talented and amazing author.
A great 5 Star Read !!! ARC received c/o NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own....
This is book 2 in this series - ❤️❤️ It !! Roman is sent to pick up a package in Boston & it’s Elena Popov !! Elena is as snarky as she is beautiful & while Roman is very attracted to her immediately he doesn’t trust her & feels she has an ulterior motive. Elena has been sent by her father to assasinate her best friend Alexendar’s husband Viktor. It appears she would do anything for her ruthless father until she learns the one secret he has been keeping from her family she just can’t forgive ...
As with all Leslie North’s book this is a quick one sitting read!! Love the Russian Mobster storyline - with a great HEA!!
Great read to curl up with !!
Roman and Elena's story was a romantic suspense with heavy on the suspense. It has all the elements that you would expect to find in a mafia hit storyline. I was intrigued with the story since it was not all romance, but had more of a plotline and a great resolution. As in any romance story, there is a HEA, with Roman and Elena's way to theirs was fun reading. I would like to thank NetGalley and Relay Pub. for gifting me "Falling for the Mob Soldier". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 4.25 Stars!
loved reading it. totally recommend checking it out. loved it more than the first one.
Leslie North is an author I enjoy reading books of.
Loved reading the amazing and outstanding second book in the Sokolov Brothers series. When Elena Popov's goes to stay with her best friend, Alexandra, and her husband, Victor, Elena is finding it getting more and more difficult to not fall for Victor's right hand man, best friend, and chiffonier, Roman, and to do what her father wants her to do, kill Victor. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, engaging story with captivating characters, and a must read love story.
I reviewed a copy of the story through NetGalley.
This was a little better then the first one, who was her best friend and his best friend. I just cant really relate to any of the characters. I always feel once I start to enjoy the book its over.
Felt a bit rushed. This author crams a lot of story in her books and I would eventually like to see the progression into a deep in depth novel. The storyline is great which always has me going back to this author
Book 2 in Leslie Norths Sokolov brothers series, this book immediately follows book 1 with Alexandra 's best friend, Elena Popov, moving into the Sokolov mansion. Elena swears she has defected from her Russian mobster father, but she's actually there to kill Alexandra 's husband, Viktor. The only thing person standing in her way is Roman, Viktor 's right hand man and the chemistry is fairly electric. Really fast paced and easy read that was a nice break from my usual reading experience.
Leslie North has a gift for creating strong female characters who do not back down because of fear or pain.
The characters are over the top in alpha male and strong female but it works with the world that the author has created for readers to enjoy. If you haven't read the first in the series you might find yourself lost many times as the books are linked together.
Falling for the mob solider is a quick fast read that fans of Leslie North or similar authors will enjoy, As always lots of sexual tension until they finally give in creating very steamy and explicit sex scenes that might not be for everyone.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of Leslie North Falling For the Mob Solider
Book 2 in the Sokolov Brothers novella series, Falling for the Mob Soldier has danger, steam and angst the things you look for in a romantic suspense. Roman may not be blood, but he is a brother, loyal to the bone when it comes to the Sokolov Brothers. He and Elena are good characters and the story engaging, I would have liked a bit more around Elena’s background and the choice she made but overall it didn’t detract from the story. I look forward to reading the next in this series
Following my disappointment with book 1, I was pleasantly surprised with Elena and Roman’s story. I loved Roman, he was sexy, dependable and he stands by his morals. Elena however, was selfish and deceitful, I found it difficult to warm to her, even when she redeemed herself. An entertaining read, predictable and extremely cheesy. It was great to see Viktor and Alexandra still loved up. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.
Falling for the Mob Soldier is book 2 of the Sokolov Brothers, and though Roman isn’t a brother by blood, he has proved his unwavering loyalty to Viktor and the Sokolov family time and time again. So when he is sent to retrieve a package from Russia and finds his cargo is none other than the feisty, razor tongued, poster girl Elena Popov, Roman is suspicious of her supposed defection and the motives for her eagerness to reunite with her best friend Alexandra and the Solokov family.
Roman and Elena’s story has plenty of angst, sexual heat and heartbreaking and enlightening revelations; like Elena’s pastime of reading Dostoyevsky and Nietzsche. However the one thing I found missing was an explanation for the reason an A Grade student like Elena, had dropped out of University. I did enjoy this story, but would have liked that clarified. Let’s see what Ms North has in store for Kostya!
Sexy, thrilling, heart pounding adventure filled with danger, mystery, hard truths, tested loyalties and scorching hot passion that will not be denied..... Really enjoyed this journey! Highly entertaining read that kept me reading all night long and excited for more.
