Elena is Viktor Sokolov’s enemy. Her father killed Viktor’s father and blamed Alexandra, Elena’s best friend and Viktor’s wife. She tells them she is defecting and need the Sokolov ‘s help. Elena is there to kill Viktor for her father and free her friend of her arranged marriage. Roman is Viktor’s driver and bodyguard and best friend. He is sent to bring her to Boston and keep an eye on her. Roman realizes Elena’s snarky, mean attitude is just her way of protecting herself. He starts to fall for her but will he have to choose between the woman he loves or Viktor, his family?
Short with sex, secrets and suspense. You wouldn’t think Roman and Elena would be a good match but they are.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I liked this second book better than the first book, and I really liked Roman but Elena not so much. She did get better towards the end of the book but at the beginning she was just annoying.

The story about Elena and her mother being shut away and her father still on the loose was pretty interesting and I liked the lead in to the next book with Viktor's brother rushing out - probably to find Elena's father.

Not sure what Elena was thinking when she was threatened by her father's man, her choice was pretty desperate and a really bad choice. I guess I can not understand why she would not ask for help from Roman.

Pretty entertaining and hoping they finally catch Poplov in the next book!

“It is either given entirely and freely when owed, or not at all. There’s no in-between, only loyalty or disloyalty,”

This series continues to show us that loyalty to the family is regardless of blood or not. You are either seen as a betrayer of family. There is no gray area.

“Something happened in there, and you’re lashing out. It’s okay to be upset—what isn’t okay is to lash out at those trying to help you.”

What happens when you let someone inside that you thought you could trust? What happens when you fall for the enemy? Can you stay loyal to the family or will you let lust win over? What happens when you question who is loyal to you?

“She was going to steal her best friend’s happily ever after at the same time that she destroyed her own.”

A new character is briefly mentioned at the end and I can’t wait to dig into his story. I think it’s going to be fun watching this young, stubborn man get brought down a peg~hopefully by a woman and not the family. Watch that angst turn into something swoon worthy in Saving the Russian Enforcer, book three of the Sokolov Brothers.

Elena isn't all that she seems she has been sent to infiltrate the Sokolov home and kill Viktor and in so doing she will free her best friend Alexandria from a forced marriage(Married to the Russian Kingpin) only things aren't what they seem Alexandria really loves Viktor and her father may not be the innocent man he seems . Meanwhile she has contend with the suspicious Roman Garinovich. He is the right hand man and best friend of Viktor, who saved him when his military career imploded. Roman doesn't trust Elena one little bit but why can't he get her outof his mind. Be prepared for a rollercoaster ride as all the forces of the Russian mafia comes into play and family secrets are revealed Elena must face her worst fears but will she decide to do what is right. Looking forward to the next book in his wonderful series

This is the story of Elena and Roman. Even since the first book of the series we got hints of the chemistry between these two.

Roman is sent to Russia without knowing that the package he is to pick up is a person and more specifically Elena. He does not trust her as her father was the murderer of the elder Sokolov and previous mafia boss. But Elena is also on a mission; to end Viktor - the new mob boss and husband of her best friend Alexandra.

How will Roman behave when he realizes that he starts falling for Elena? Will Elena continue with her plan when she will find out her father's atrocities that have affected even his beloved family? Will she let her newly developed feelings for Roman guide her?

A pleasant fast paced reading in the Russian mafia world which picks up the story from where it was left on the first book. And though once again it is a romance for two different people this time, the author does not fail to link the stories together while creating suspence and triggering the cutiosity of what comes next in the Sokolov mafia world. A well known recipe for our author.

I thought that there was no way that I was going to like Elena. Then I found myself crying for her. Ms. North has a way with words, that can change anyone's mind.
