This was one of my favorite books to read. I really enjoyed the scenes and the story telling. I love books by Danielle Steele she never lets down her readers. This book did not fall flat. I loved the focus on family aspect of the book. It really pulls at your heart strings.
This was my first Danielle Steel read and it did not disappoint. I truly enjoyed this story, the characters and the plot.
I haven't read Danielle Steel in ages, but I've never read a book of hers I didn't like. I'm not a Romance reader at all, but I truly enjoy her stories.
Really enjoyed the story. Cant wait for her next book to come out. Thank you so much for allowing me to have advanced copy. Really enjoy her books. Have read them all. I am a big fan.
I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for my review. I have been a lifelong fan of Danielle Steel books so I always look for an opportunity to read another of her stories! Paige and Whitney are the daughters of Hollywood royalty. Their mother was a talented actress and their father was an agent. When Whitney grew up she wanted to have nothing to do with Hollywood and instead choose to become a psychiatrist.
Paige had a daughter, Emma and she pushed her into becoming a star.
When a horrible accident happens, Whitney-who never wanted to be a mother-suddenly is responsible for raising Emma. This is the story of Whitney's path to motherhood and Emma's road to recovery and how they grow together during this process.
This was a fast story to read. I wasn't particularly attached to the characters so that is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The plot was interesting and I liked reading about recovering from brain injuries, so it is worth a read.
This is my first Danielle Steel novel. I know it’s shocking to me too! So when I got the opportunity to review one of her novels on NetGalley I was all for it and I see why she is so popular! This book is so good and really shows that wherever you are in life, love for family surpasses everything else especially when they need you after a tragedy. An aunt must take care of her brain damaged celebrity niece after tragedy struck. She was mute and doesn’t remember anything about what happened. It’s a touching and loving story. I loved how their relationship grew and they both grew themselves.
I have been a fan of Danielle Steel for a very long time. Her recent books have been more compelling with each new edition. Silent Night is certainly in that category. The story is about two sisters and how different their lives are. One is a doctor devoted to her patients and enjoying her life. The other sister is a mother and is devoted to making her young daughter a rising star in Hollywood, which she has clearly done. But a tragedy changes the lives of all three and now the young doctor has to become a mother to a child with a traumatic brain injury. The story leads us through the journey that the two take and how they grow and change. It is certainly classic Danielle Steel and worth the read.
What a great book. I haven’t read Danielle Steel in such a long time, but I love this book. It hits so many of your emotions and is so close to reality that it’s scary. Thank you for such a great read!
I love this book! It's such a great story. I hated to come to the end because I got so attached to
the Characters. I haven't read any of Danielle Steels books in many years but this one is every
bit as good as those from 20-30 years ago. I really enjoyed it!
I so enjoyed this book - it tackled some very tough issues and was very well researched I thought. A lot of depth to the characters and how they dealt with death, traumatic brain injury and balancing life with it all. Thank you Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an ARC.
I just finished reading Silent Night. I really enjoyed it a lot more than some of Steel’s recent books. Sometimes they’re too repetitive using the whole page to say the same thing. This one wasn’t like that.
Oh wow! this book was really great and shows that Danielle Steel is still at the top of her game! She never disappoints! I highly recommend this one!
This book is similar to many of the authors other books. Set the stage, tragedy strikes, recovery; another smaller tragedy; then happy ending. I enjoy her books, as they are quick reads and I don’t have to think a whole lot.
This book was absolutely fabulous! When a mother and her daughter are in a very tragic car accident, and the mother dies, the daughter is left with a very severe traumatic brain injury and in the care of her aunt. The book takes the reader on a journey of the recovery stages of dealing with someone who has sustained a traumatic brain injury and the many challenges that families and doctors face when treating a patient who ha sustained such an injury. The reader feels all the highs and lows that go along with this road to recovery, and there are many tears both of joy and sadness that are shed along the way. This book is not to be missed!
Many thanks to Random House Publishing Company and Netgalley for providing me the opportunity to read and review an advance copy of this book in exchange for my review.
Having worked in Mental Health and brain injuries the story grabbed me from the first page. I had a few problems with story in that the frontal lobe does not control hearing or sight. The frontal lobe controls language and emotions and some memories, but other that these small problems I enjoyed the story and how Whitney, Emma and Bailey became the family they all needed. A few times in the story I knew the solution to the communication problems and was surprised that Whitney did not think of this sooner. Overall the story keeps the reader on the edge of their seat -waiting to see the outcome of Emma's life. Whitney and Bailey both had to deal with their own angst in the story about relationships - neither wanted to repeat their parent's marriages. In the end it reminds readers that love is messy but so worth it in the end / that family is not always blood.
I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I absolutely loved this book and it is so exciting to read anything by Danielle Steel. She is definitely back to the way she wrote many years ago. This book has trauma, romance and encouragement! I highly recommend it!!!!
I have to say this story grabbed me right away. Although I thought the story was going in an entirely different direction. The story of two sisters and their love for one child. One moment in time can change so many things and so many lives! I have been reading Danielle Steel books since "The Promise" and I feel this book was as captivating as that earlier work!
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
An awesome book that I could not put down. Just when Whitney thought life was perfect, no marriage or children when she receives a call that her niece, Emma has been injured and her sister died in a car accident. Whitney's world will turn upside down as she takes her of her niece.
This is an emotional journey that Whitney and Emma will take together. What you won't do for a family member. This is mostly women fiction with a little romance. I highly recommend!!
This is a take to the beach book. It's easy-to-read, an interesting story, and because of the popularity of the author, sure to be a best seller. The story appealed to me as something a little unusual. It was interesting to follow the progress of a brain-injured child. I enjoyed the first half of the book more than the last where it seemed to lose steam for me and rely too much on a typical romance theme. There is a lot of repetition in the book which got tiring after awhile. If a point was made once, it was made a dozen times! Nevertheless, this was an enjoyable, easy read with the typical (if not realistic) happy endings for everyone.
