Karen Hart has lost everything she feels is important in her life. As a child, her mother left Kara and her father. Then on the way home from an anniversary dinner that didn't go well, Kara and her husband are in a fatal car crash in which Kara"s husband and her unborn child are killed. The recovery from this leaves Kara emotionally and physically scared. Her father is there to help her recover but before Kara feels capable of returning to life, he decides to buy an old Victorian house in major disrepair and out in the county. Kara hesitantly agrees to help him to renovate the house for a short time

In the process of rebuilding the house can Karan rebuild her life? Can she withstand another loss? Will her new friends be able to help Kara face the future with whatever it holds?

There are many emotions mixed together in this book, all believable and well written from earth shattering loss, grief, resentment, jealousy, love and forgiveness. The conclusion of the book is not the end of the story and I can't wait for the release of Wildflower Hope and more of the incredible writing go Grace Green

This was an interesting read, which while a bit slow at times, was engrossing and satisfying. Kara's mother left home when Kara was young and never returned. Luckily, her father was grounded, supportive and loving and made sure Kara had everything she needed to grow up to be an accomplished professional. When Kara is involved in a devastating accident, her father is her rock once again. Soon after, he decides to sell his business and retire to a huge, old Victorian house he has purchased in the Virginia countryside. The house is in need of significant remodeling and repair. In the process of moving in and beginning renovations, Kara meets some new people who help her to deal with the next tragedy in her life. Strongly recommend.

I loved this book and warmed to the characters.

Beautiful book as usual! I know when I pick up a book by Grace Greene I will be reading straight through to the end. This book was no exception. Here characters are family or dear friends. I preordered as gifts for the women in my family! Of course I purchased a copy for myself especially because this is a part of a series and I will “need”to reread before reading book 2. Truth be told even though I am lucky enough to get an arc I still need to hold the book in my hands.

Beautifully tragic. Moving story of loss and coping. As someone who has lost her mom and also has had a miscarriage this was sometimes hard to read. However, well done.

What a beautifully written emotional story. This author is the best at giving us characters to really feel a connection with. Kara had suffered numerous losses in her life yet she was strong and continued on as best she could.

In reading, I felt as if I could see the old Victorian house and picture the gorgeous wildflowers garden. This book will take you through a variety of heart wrenching moments, truly sad moments, but the most important... happy and survival moments.

This was written as a first person narrative. The characters are described directly and the main conflict is character versus self and nature. The theme includes some popular ones such as love, death, survival, and prejudice.

Kara Hart has gone through a lot in her life and is just attempting to find a balance in all of the chaos. She is our protagonist and is a round character who has gone through many dynamic changes before and during the story. Her main confidant is her father Henry and new friend. She can be described as resilient because each time her world has taken a wrong turn she ends up pulling herself back together in order to become a stronger person. The exposition shows us what kind of life Kara lead up until the accident that took her husband. The rising action is all about Kara’s recovery and her father’s decision to move to Virginia countryside. The climax is all about the journeys that Kara and her father have restoring an old Victorian Mansion. The falling action show Kara starting to adjust to what could be her new normal. The resolution does not really conclude anything as it sets up for the next novel in the series.

The author does have a unique flow and organization of the story but does give lots of details and a full background on the reasons behind Kara’s personality. Her word choice is smooth and lets readers easily follow what she is writing and lets the readers begin to form ideas about what is going to happen with Kara and her father’s lives as the embark on the journey of restoration. No, I would not recommend this book. This book would be good for readers who enjoy slower paced novels, or are into artistic or restoration projects. This book would not be good for readers who enjoy some sort of action or drama, enjoy lots of character interaction or are looking for a love story.

A realistic story of loss and the rebuilding process. Kara Hart is full of anticipation on the eve of her sixth wedding anniversary to her college sweetheart Niles. After dinner Kara is blindsided with news that her husband plans to leave her and moments later there is a tragic accident that alters her life forever. Hank, Kara'a father steps in to assist her through her rehabilitation and tries to get her back on her feet. They move to Wildflower House in the Virginia countryside and truths never spoken of come to light. Their relationship grows and a new bond is created. This beautiful story touched my heart as it realistically described the grieving and rebuilding process we all encounter in life. I look forward to the next book in the series and following Kara on her journey.

“No one chooses to whom and where they are born” is a theme of this emotional novel. Kara experiences many types of loss and grief, but will she figure out how to move on and make her way in life? When her father decides to sell his business and move into a big old house in the Virginia woods, Kara needs to work on her future. Well written and hopeful, thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

Grace Greene is such a wonderful author and always look forward to her books. This one did not disappoint! A book of relationships and loss, love and strength, and most of all healing. I was hooked from the first paragraph, and was kept there until the end. The writing was Grace Greene spectacular, the plot touching and characters relatable. Looking forward to book 2!

Oh my. Did this break my heart. I’m so close to my mom that I can’t even imagine. Grace is such a wonderful author. I always look forward to her books.

This was a book of relationships and loss. Kara lost her mother and then her husband and unborn child. She had support in her father but he was pragmatic till he retired and bought a house away in the countryside. And she discovered the neglected wildflowers. There was a magic in them which uplifted her heart.

Grace Greene has written another fabulous book on love and strength. The characters all felt real and so did their pain. I liked how the author had weaved twists and joy amidst all this. Kara slowly began to live and her heart resonated with the beauty of the wildflowers. Then came my niggles, the story was slow and I couldn't connect initially to Kara, I had to restart the book twice. But once I got into its rhythm, I was swayed by all the emotions.

The story was beautiful and poignant, it was real and reflective. It does touch the heart as most of Grace Greene books do.

This book will tug at your heart strings, break your heart, and heal it all within the story. The heroine of this book, Kara, has experienced a lot of loss and tragedy throughout her life. Now she needs to heal and goes to a beautiful house with wild flowers and a loving father to find her way back. This was my first novel by Grace Greene and it was not a disappointment. Such a great story of overcoming and finding your way. Highly recommend.

A nicely written book. Kara has been down on her luck in life ever since she was a young child. Somehow she pulls herself up with the help of her father, then her husband and then by a neighbor.. When her father passes away how will she pull herself up again?

You will love every word or Wildflower Heart! I enjoyed this book from the first sentence. Makes you think about your past, present and future for not only you but ones you love. I am so excited for book #2.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it was an enjoyable read. The main character, Kara, has known much loss in her life. There is an opportunity to finally find joy.
Grace Greene writes in an easy to read style and her characters are developed well. You'll find yourself caring about them.
This is the first in a new series. I can't wait to read the next book! I'll also be looking up her previous novels.

Wildflower Heart is a good women’s fiction book. Love, loss, making personal discoveries, forging new relationships and mending others all come together. I was drawn in and enjoyed it even though it was very predictable.

A beautifully written novel that demonstrates the love between father and daughter, the individual journey of moving forward in life, and finding oneself along the way.

Grace Greene has written a heartwarming novel that brings forth some wonderful characters, an interesting storyline, a background many of us will recognize (Cub Creek), and the challenges and accomplishments of all.

A wonderful novel. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. While I prefer my chick lit with a bit more edge, I really wanted to love this book. The premise sounded so good.. Kara had been through a lot, the desertion of her mother, a terrible accident, loss, grief, etc etc etc., So the chance to escape with her father to an old Victorian home, to renovate and live in the country, sounded wonderful to me. The only problem was, I did not like Kara. Not one bit. If I had been out there with her it would have ended badly. She was rude, careless with people's feelings, selfish and childish. Her personal issues didn't excuse any of that. The letter she wrote to her "best friend" made absolutely no sense. Either make up or move on. While there were some really good characters and interesting storylines, this one just didn't do it for me. I will not revisit Wildflower House.
