The fifth book in this Crime Thriller series but the first I’ve picked up.
I found this to be full of action with just a touch of the paranormal, a gypsy psychic that no one believes.
If you liked the show Medium, this will definitely bring you back to your happy place.
I’m guessing this entire series is really good and now I need to go back and find book 1
I just finished book 4 in the series, when I got my hands on this beauty. This was a well written treat, but one of my now favorite authors. Recommended.
Thank you NetGalley and Bloodhound Books for this arc.
I've read the first book of this series and it was just meh for me, but this series keeps getting high ratings so I thought I'd try again with number 5. Must be me, but this was just meh as well. It was a fast paced story, but oh so very gory. I don't usually mind violence and gore, but this was just over the top for me. I also found the insta-luv unnecessary. Again, I'm sorry to say that I didn't connect with any of the characters, none felt that real to me. It wasn't a bad read, but I'm not feeling any compulsion to further explore this series.
2.5 stars
This is another great book from KA Richardson. I loved the characters and the settings. The storyline is beautifully written and how the story evolves is quite gripping. A definite read!
Thankyou to NetGalley, Bloodhound Books and the author, K A Richardson, for the opportunity to read digital copy of From The Dark in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion.
This book offers another good read from this author. The storyline was well written and easy to follow with well developed characters.
Worth a read.
Full of action, suspense, mystery and more. This is the first book in the series I have read and I will definitely be going back to read the first four. I am hooked! Great characters and just the right amount of paranormal and romance.
Another novel from ka Richardson and it is truly amazing to see just what she puts her character up to each time.
I love her writing style and I think she has such a wonderfully descriptive way of telling her tales.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy. This is an honest review.
This is the fifth in the series and I have not read the other books. Well some things were spoiled for earlier books I was still able to understand the books. This is the story of officer Mark McKay and gypsy psychic Antonia Baillie. Young men are being killed and this duo must rely on eachother to survive.
I read this a month ago I just didn't have time to review it. This was an easy read but nothing really stands out as spectacular. I enjoyed the book and if the opportunity arises to read a book by Richardson I would. I will probably not actively seek out more from this series but I did enjoy this. Three stars on NetGalley for I would maybe recommend it and three on Goodreads because I liked it.
DS Mark McKay doesn't believe in psychics, has never worked with one.
UNTIL ... Toni Baillie walks into his department and describes a murder that has just been committed. He patiently listens, then sends her off home.
UNTIL ... a phone call shortly after Toni leaves, telling him a body of a young man has been found ... and is described exactly as Toni saw with her gift.
This won't be the last vision that Toni 'sees' ... and it won't be the last body that McKay has to investigate.
As McKay and Baillie get closer to solving these cases, the closer to danger they get.
Mark and Antonia race against a spree of monstrous crimes, long-standing grudges and the perils of the darkness in the vaults under Edinburgh to try and find a sadistic killer before time runs out.
This is an action-packed, page turner with a brutal ending. Lots of suspects float in and out of the pages ... but you can't cast any of them out. I really liked the characters, The good guys are really good and the bad guys are horrific. Looking forward to seeing more from this author.
Many thanks to the author / Bloodhound Books / Netgalley for the advanced digital copy of this crime fiction. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
The Forensic Files collection is a very enjoyable collection of novels loosely linked by an overlapping set of characters and previously based in the North East of England. However, the action in the fifth instalment is centred on Edinburgh and revolves around Mark, the brother of Alex and Ali whom we met in previous books. The story is gripping if a trifle violent, but I found it difficult to cope with the visions and auras which areprevalent here!
Mark and Toni come together to try and figure out who is killing. Toni is a Romni that has unique powers that just might be the key to helping the police stop the brutality. What happens when a sceptic meets someone that makes him question his disbeliefs. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book and write about it.
