I'm sure it was very helpful for the author to write this book, and that his family and friends will appreciate it, however I didn't. He is too detailed in his stories and repeats too much. He and his wife obviously had a wonderful relationship and that was enjoyable to read about, however I didn't need to know such details about her treatment and his job history.
I received this book free from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review.
I wanted to like this book, but could not. The writer is quite self-absorbed. There seemed to be little real emotion related to the illness and death of his wife. The travel stories were interesting, but the stories about their time together as she lived with the illness then the dying process were somewhat cold and mostly small medical details. He rarely addressed what it is actually like to go through that with the person you loved most in the world for many years.
