Thank you Netgalley for letting me read and review this book. Ness is the main character, who is a female wolf. Reading from her perspective was interesting, yet sometimes annoying. It was a new and cool perspective to read from though. I would definitely look up trigger warnings before giving this a read. The plot was interesting at times, but not enough to give this book a 4 or 5 stars. I can see how others would enjoy this book though. Look it up and give it a try!

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Ness is an exiled female wolf that doesn’t belong to any pack. She’s basically treated like crap by absolutely everyone in her pack. This was not a pleasant read. I wanted it to be since it’s been forever since I read a lycan book I liked. Alas, this just wasn’t the read for me. The book is dripping in misogyny, the writing was not seamless and in fact very choppy and had many inconsistencies. Truth be told, there was not one likable character. No bueno.

Great writing, but terrible storyline.

Some parts of the story just seemed like unnecessary fillers. Unfortunately, this book was filled with paragraph upon paragraph of twists that either made no sense, or seemed forced. I won't be returning for any other books in the series.

I find it hard to explain in detail Why I haven't given it a higher rating than 3 stars, because this book was such a fast paced read from beginning till end! I really like the authors writing style in general, but I don't know...

At the same time I was just 'missing something', mostly regarding the in depth development of the characters in general I think? It just remains a bit too superficial for my taste, in combination with quite some standard elements being present.

The book/this story has a lot of potential but it just hasn't come to fruitition the way I'd wanted to. It was still a fun read in a new to me author and series and at some point I'll be picking up book 2 to see how it'll all continue, but atm it's not a book that I just Have to get my hands on asap, you know? We'll see!

I was gifted an e-arc of this book in exchange for me leaving an honest review. My opinions are entirely my own.

Completely forgot to write my review for this one. Was a relatively quick and easy read. I loved the story setting and world building. The character growth was a little slow at the beginning but I developed an attachment which can be hard for me with some books. All in all, would recommend.

Unfortunately, for my older books requested I was unable to review probably. They were never read, not because they weren't great, but because I ended up sick. I am just now getting back into the swing of thinks. Thank you, Netgalley.

The Pack of Blood and Lies by Olivia Wildenstein is what you want to read in a YA Fantasy! It has angst, adventure, and romance. Did I mention I love Alphas!? There is that too! It's a fun read with a strong female!

I did not finish the one. I'm not sure if I just lost interest in the story and it wasn't fast-paced enough or I had other things going on a didn't pick it back up. I do remember being interested at the beginning of the story and enjoying it. I liked the strong female lead and that she stands up for herself. I recall the writing was good.

Did not Finish
This annoyed me on so many levels, I just can't even. The pack structure is highly mysoginistic but we do not get an actual reasonable explanation for that, it's just so that there can be conflict between the heroine and the pack and I am SO tired of it. Also, it's so blatant and in your face that it actually diminishes a very real problem that women face in their daily lives but that might just be my personal impression. I don't mind the exploration of this topic, on the contrary, but I feel like it was not thought out well here at all. If you look at the patriarchy, its status quo is reinforced by a number of economical, political, religious traditions and so on and so forth. Is it too much to ask for at least some logic behind the structure? It just really irked me. On top of that, the heroine was your typical Mary Sue but also brash and brave because "flaws" and it just did not mesh well with me at all. It's a pity because the writing style was actually pretty decent but alas.

This book was truly addictive and ugh the cover is so stunning! This story is fast-paced and slow burn which totally worked out for me. There is so much more to this story than what I was actually expecting and it was a fantastic ride

It took some time for me to be invested in the story but once i did, it was really good. I loved the trials they had to go through and the mystery surrounding her life.

A Pack of Blood and Lies is about Ness, a werewolf shifter, who is forced back to her old home in Colorado. I loved the dynamics between her and the pack. The plot reads very quickly and you may find yourself finishing it within a day. The hate to love trope delivered! I loved Ness's determination and how it tackled sexism.

I tried really hard to read this but just couldn't get into it. I'm not a big fan of fantasy but I was really hoping to enjoy this.

Another gem by Wildenstein. It was hard to follow up after Feather but she did it! LOVE! 5 Stars all the way and turning into an autobuy author for me.

This reminded me so much of why I love paranormal! Jam packed with action and edge of your seat thrills! Yes she's an outcast but that makes her so much stronger as the protagonist! Loved it!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this advanced copy.
Once I started this YA Urban Shifter fantasy I couldn’t put it down! Although it wasn’t a perfect book by an stretch (there are a few motivations and mysteries that are convoluted and complicated) the characters including the lead, Nessie pull the reader in wondering what will happen next. I was VERY invested in Nessie’s romantic situation and her hatemance with one of the pack members. I look forward to seeing what happens next to Nessie and the Boulder Pack.
Highly recommend this to urban fantasy fans that like female protagonists and shifter stories.
