I enjoyed the information that this book gave about eating the right foods, what those foods can do for your body, and also help some current health issues that you are already experiencing.

I suspect that we will be reading more and more about the connection between our diets and our mental and physical health. Too long we have focused on our appearance, on the outside, but just like our grandmothers have long said, it's what's on the inside that counts. Is this THE book I've been waiting for? Well, truthfully, no. I would really like to see a book come from the medical research world, but then again would it be as easily digestible (wink, wink) as this one? Hard to say. Wavering between 3 and 4 stars, rounding up.

This book is packed with so much information, not only about food and its connection to emotions and mood but also recipes to use! It's important to realize the connection between food and mood; we need more books like this one that is easy to read and comprehend to help remind us of the importance of what we put into our bodies.

This was a very interesting take on approaching mood disorders with a change in diet. The information presented by the authors made a lot of sense and I plan to implement some of the changes they have recommended to see if it helps with my anxiety.

Natalie Savona and Charlotte Watts have written an invaluable book for anyone who's concerned with her mental health! It's comprehensive and up-to-date; topics such as the human microbiome & gut and health correlations are examined. "Good Mood Food" covers all the essential categories one concerned with mood elevation would want such as sleep quality, anxiety levels, energy, and much more. To round things, out, there are plenty of recipes the reader can utilize. Good Mood Food" is an excellent primer on how to use food to strengthen one's mood.

This very interesting book describes how your body processes different foods to help you stay healthy both physically and mentally. There are lists of healthy foods, recipes, as well as research to support each chapter's main idea. I found the book to be a useful tool.

Another book about how food affects our mood and mental health. It was good information and I loved some of the recipes but would have preferred to have some pictures of the food.

The recipes look very good and the information behind the theories make sense. I think some food pictures would make this much more appealing.

This book would be a great start for anyone interested in using food to improve how they feel, especially from an emotional standpoint. It covers different emotions, the foods and nutrients that may support improving mood and is followed by recipes utilizing those ingredients. A thoughtful and unique book.

Thank you, Nourish and NetGalley!

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was more narrative in this book then I was expecting. I like a cookbook to have pictures for recipes so that I know what I'm aiming for, but I don't have that same need when reading health and lifestyle books.

I was particularly interested to read the following two chapters: Calming an anxious mind; and Sleep support. Of the nine chapters, I read approximately five because I didn't relate to some of the issues involved in those other chapters. I will continue to dip into this book for ideas, as required.

There is a summary/checklist at the finish of each chapter to go over herbs, dietary tips and lifestyle changes to implement, which is really useful.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the authors for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly didn't enjoy this much. It is me and my son (12). A lot of the recipes my son would not eat. Which would mean cooking separate meals. No thank you!

Thank you Nourish and Netgalley for an ARC in return for my honest review.

This is an informative, easy to read book clearly showing the link between mood and the food we eat. There are recipes linked to each chapters focus whether that be better sleep, clearing a foggy mind, anxiety or more.

For anyone wanting to perform better in life, or sleep, this book will guide you there with specific foods to limit or increase. A well recommended read.

I thought I was getting a cookbook: I liked the idea of a series of recipes which would make me feel happy. For once this isn't a case of 'if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is' - it's a case of getting something which could change your life for the better - for good - rather than a quick fix.

You get nine chapters plus a comprehensive glossary, which is worth its weight in gold. We look at energy and brain fuel, calming an anxious mind, focus and concentration support, mood maintenance, soothing belly stress, appetite regulation, sleep support, balancing female hormones and feel-good diet basics. You might feel tempted to just look at the sections which you feel apply to you, but they're all worth reading, particularly as recipes are given in each section but they're all tempting and could work well for a purpose other than that covered in the chapter you're reading.

For each 'problem' area you're taken through the science, but don't worry if this isn't your area of expertise, as it's delivered with a very light hand at a basic level. It must be - I had no problem in understanding it. You're given some tips as to how you can help yourself and they're all simple and sensible. When it comes to exercise walking is recommended and I don't think an expensive gym membership was ever mentioned. None of the food requires ingredients you can't pronounce or imagine where you could buy it. There is an emphasis on fresh food, preferably produced locally as that's fresher.

Despite the science content it's an easy read. I finished my first read through over a couple of days and I've since gone back to reread certain chapters which I felt were particularly relevant. I've made notes about supplements - something which I've always preferred to avoid as I thought that you didn't need them if you ate a balanced diet but I've come to the conclusion that there are areas where I could do with some support. It was a good, enlightening read and I'd like to thank the publishers for letting Bookbag have a copy.

This is a very informative book, well-written with excellent information and suggestions for improving many aspects of ones health. As a two-time cancer survivor as well as a hypoglycemic, I was familiar with about half of the information in the book. The rest of it was fairly new to me and I found it very helpful for my own personal situation and I feel that it will help me in my own relationship with my body

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

A really helpful book with great ideas and suggestions, not really a recipe book although it does have some, it’s full of food ideas to help change your moods and behaviours. It helps with sections like brain energy, anxiety moods etc and helps with food recommendations. Helpful and informative and clear enough to try without too many complex rules

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

I love reading books with good information and research about how the foods you eat can effect the way you are feeling or even help any current disorders. I fell in love with this book right away. Its not a cookbook but suggested recipes using the foods recommended to help with things like regulating blood glucose, help with psoriasis, gut disorders and more. I learned a lot of good advice on supplements that should be taken and why.

Thank you to Nourish for providing me with a review copy of Good Mood Food for review. Good Mood Food is available December 24, 2018.

Good Mood Food is a very comprehensive look at using diet to stabilize blood sugar levels, moods, cravings, hormone levels and more. I honestly found the amount of information in this book overwhelming and am not sure how much I could reasonably apply to my every day diet. It was all a bit much for me. If you are serious and want to dive deep into figuring out your cravings or knowing what is specifically causing one of your lifestyle symptoms, it might be better to go into this book with one goal in mind and try that chapter first.

The recipes provided sounded good but there were not enough to really showcase what they were trying to do with the book. It turned into more a list of vitamins we should have than any real guidance as to how to apply that to real life.
