Due to a passing in the family a few years ago and my subsequent health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for years after the bereavement. Thank you for the opportunity.
I must confess that I found this book a litte too dry for me. However saying that the book does have easy to follow strategies that were written in a simple format.
Maybe the book wasn't for me but others will certainly enjoy Install Recall.
Thank you to NetGalley, Michael Tipper and Watkins Publishing for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Instant Recall gives some great tips on how to improve your memory. This is an informative book and well written.
The author gave some great tips on how to improve memory and the book was laid out in a way that was easy to leave and pick back up without losing time to reread parts. I found it incredibly helpful!
4 stars
A useful resource for keeping your mind sharp. Good tips and tricks included.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
Why do we Forget? How do we remember?
We forget because either we are not interested, stressed or overloaded with poorly organized information.
We remember by association, either serial links, think chain links, or concentric links, think mind maps.
We remember by accessing the alpha state, taking more breaks and trigger systematic recall
Triggers,Anchors,Salivating Dogs...That's the way...Pavlov got it right.
Use Triggers as Anchors and then salivate your memories out of nowhere....You need Triggers and Anchors if you want systematic recall, and if you use them, forgetting may be more difficult than remembering.
The author does an excellent job explaining how our brain works in regards to recall.
He is somewhat simplistic in his efforts to promote"Diet,Sleep and Exercise", and his first set of exercises is insulting in its simplicity...BUT...The book delivers, you can read it in a couple of days and extract several actionable lessons that will help you in improving your memory.
The book deserves 4/4.5 stars and it is a fast and helpful read for those interesting in improving their memory.
