A good Sophie Kinsella book. A great easy read for a little escape. Lovable characters and a good storyline.
Sophie Kinsella books are always a fun read. Though the outcomes are predictable, the oath to that outcome is usually great fun. Though in this case, I found the main character’s devotion to her life long crush maddening, Still, a fun quick read.
I absolutely adore Sophie Kinsella and all of her books, and I Owe You One is no exception! From the first page to the last, I was hooked and could not put this book down. The plot, the characters, the setting, everything about this book was pure perfection.
I loved meeting Fixie, the main character in I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella a quirky former caterer working in her family's shop, Fixie's life takes a sharp turn when she rescues the laptop of a coffee shop patron, who had stepped outside to take a call, just in time from being drenched from a burst pipe in the ceiling. He repays her with a favor, which she cashes in on a job offer for her long time family friend and secret crush, Ryan. I smiled and laughed out loud - if you are looking for your next light read, this is it!
Sophie Kinsella has never disappointed and this book is no exception. A wonderful, light read that worked very well as my beach read for this summer.
I loved this book! Thank you for the ARC. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that I wasn’t leaving reviews on netgalley and was solely sharing on Instagram. My apologies. Huge fan of this author! I actually received the tangible copy. Trying to clean up my netgally account.
Sophie Kinsella has been my to-go-to since Can You Keep A Secret (yes I'm that years old, ha!). I love her books and there's not one that has disappointed me. I like her quirky heroines, uplifting plotlines, and the chemistry between her two main characters.
I Owe You One is not a disappointment. Fixie might be one of my favorite characters of hers
I always love to read Sophie Kinsella, but I also always compare everything to Bridget Jones. This was a light read, with good detail without going over the top. I found the main character Fixie to be pretty frustrating, but by the end of the story I did notice that I would've liked to hear a continuation of where things left off.
I tried to listen to this one. I got about 20% in and the story wasn't grabbing my attention at all. I wasn't connecting with it and decided to DNF it. Probably wouldn't recommend it to others, unless they really like the author.
A nice, light read.... nothing too heavy, as expected, but struggled a bit to complete. I appreciate the opportunity to review it!
Fixie is always fixing things around her but she can’t quite stand up for herself. When she helps out a stranger at a cafe things start to change. ARC from NetGalley.
What a joy this book was to read! I love most of Sophie Kinsella's books and this one was no exception. It was such a fun read and it gave me Bridget Jones vibes. If you're a fan on Sophie Kinsella you will love this one!
Slightly different than her other novels, this tells the story of a girl trying to be everythng to everyone in her family that completely takes advantage of her. Learning from love and life.
I'm feeling ambivalent about I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella. It's a standard rom com with a fun premise- Fixie (a name I honestly hate) saves Seb's computer from disaster at her local coffee shop. He tells her he owes her a favor, which starts a back and forth between them. My issue is that I really expect more from Kinsella, who has written several books that I absolutely love. I think there's just too much going on in this one and the romance just felt a little flat.
Finished reading this book last night. It took me a while to get into it and it was fairly predictable in places however, when I did get into it I found myself willing Fixie and Seb on and, today I have found I have missed the characters, fingers crossed we will find out what happens to them both and their relationship going forward. I also smiled at the authors closing acknowledgments and how the book grow from a chance remark in a coffee shop.
This is a great read and a well-detailed plot that kept me engaged from the very start. I really liked the well-thought-out characters and found them to be believable. I cannot wait to read what the author publishes next.
I gave this one 4 stars. It has a really slow start and the main character is incredibly frustrating, but I loved the ending and Seb was such a good guy. Not my favorite Sophie Kinsella by far, but I enjoyed it WAY more than last year’s Surprise Me. Who else read this one? What did you think??
Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorite authors for ages. This book is not my favorite book from her ,but it is not a bad one. It is definitely a Kinsella style book . Fixie, the main character, is very relatable. She views herself as a failure while everyone else has some strengths. Even her family does not believe in her, and takes advantage of her in some ways. I like reading how Fixie grows and transforms over time. However, the plot is very predictable. It is a very easy and enjoyable read.
4 out of 5 stars
I received a free copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Sophie Kinsella is fantastic. I absolutely love the writing and enjoyed this story, much like her others.
I have read several Sophie Kinsella books and if you want a light read I Owe You One fits the bill.
The main character is Fixie , who likes to fix things. She is weak and I had trouble liking her but she does develop a backbone as the story progresses. A romantic beach read.
Thanks to Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
