This book started a little slow for me but I love Sophie Kinsella and I'm glad I kept going because I ended up loving the book!

Fixie works in her family's department store. Although she has two older siblings, they aren't really interested until their mom takes a vacation with their aunt. Then they want to step in and change everything. Fixie is called that because she's compelled to fix things. She's never been able to stand up to her siblings and she frets while the store starts doing worse with their ideas.

She also thinks she's in love with a guy who is really just using her. He treats her so bad I wanted to shake her at one point. But, like most of Kinsella's characters, there's a huge growth in Fixie where she not only fixes what goes wrong with the store but she fixes what's going on in her personal life.

Loves this book!

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was just the type of read I needed right now. It was a pretty light read but had some serious issues too. I really liked the characters and how they for together. I loved Fixie but also wanted to club her over the head too. But I think all females have been in her position before and can identify well with her. A few parts were predictable but it was enjoyable. 3.5

I can honestly say I am not the mushy romantic sort. I do not venture in excitement mode when a new romantic comedy is on Hallmark. Lets be real I am more excited about the comedy part than the romance. That is why Kinsella's books are perfect. They are thoughtful, funny, and have the perfect dash of realistic romance and I adore her for that.

I owe you one is another gem by her and I mean that honestly. The story focuses on Fixie Farr and her inability to resist fixing things. Such a quirk lands her into an unexpected debt being owed to her by Seb, her future love interest and yes the balance to the meaning behind the title... I owe you one.

Without giving away the story I can tell you the plot places Fixie in situations that need fixing and some she really doesnt need to fix... but she cannot help herself. Such leads her into more trouble than she needs but as well that ends well. Trust me she gets her happy ending. Read I Owe You one. It is a true gem.

The one thing I love about Kinsella's main characters is they are so -real- and relatable to women like myself. They are not flawless, not model beautiful, and they certainly far from perfect. Instead they are awkward and quirky and sometimes weird and I LOVE that! So if you want less hair flipping, less lash batting and want something more feel good and genuine in your rom-com get this book or really any of Sophie Kinsella's books. They are above five stars but thats my opinion and I am sticking with it. Until next time!

This book is great! Would definitely recommend. Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

This novel is a classic Kinsella novel.

Girl meets boy. Add in a klutzy moment or 10. Add another boy into the mix. Embarrassing moments ensue. Which boy does girl truly love? Is it fate? Which one is true love? Romantic moment occurs.

End scene.

And that, my friends, is the exact plot.

A nice, light read.... nothing too heavy, as expected, but struggled a bit to complete. I appreciate the opportunity to review it!

This novel was selected by my IRL book club because Kinsella is a well known author. While Sophie Kinsella is a big name in chick lit fiction, I'm not sure why. The characters are shallow and self absorbed to the point of annoyance. I did not finish this one. Maybe this book is for a younger reader in 20's or 30's. Give it a try.

Once again, I read this book in just under a day. Love this story and the idea of the I Owe You One voucher. Such a fun and spicy romance full of plot twists and tension, and in the end, love. A wonderful plot!

I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorite reads. A book about family, friends, and complicated relationships. It was about finding your voice and the remarkable resilience of love. This book has personality in spades and the characterization will have you both laugh and cry. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book.

I received a review copy from the publisher, via NetGalley, for my honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Sophie Kinnella books are always wonderful to read and never let you down. Wonderful story that's really well written and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to read this. Thank you for the chance and sorry my review is late.

This was another great book from Sophie Kinsella. Fixie is a sweet character but it's easy to get frustrated with her never standing up for herself. I did love the theme of "family first" throughout the book. All in all, another good read from Kinsella.

As always, Sophie Kinsella gives us a book that is funny and easy to read. Overall, this was a really enjoyable read, but the whole time I read this book, I wanted to reach in and grab the main character, Fixie. She's likable, but all I wanted her to do was STAND UP for herself!! She lets her siblings walk all over her, but would still highly recommend this book!

Gah, I forgot how much I love Sophie Kinsella books! It's been a while since I've picked one up, and I'm so glad I read this one to remind me to seek out her last two as well.

This one actually reminds me the most of the Shopoholic series...in that it was both hilarious, endearing, but utterly frustrating at times. I just wanted to grab Fixie and shake her. She is just so naive and such a doormat. I want to tell her to open her mouth and stand up for herself, doggonit. But of course that is the character arch of the story. And because Kinsella is such an expert at making the reader fall madly in love with the main character, regardless of her flaws, you just can't help but keep reading...utter frustration and desire to smack her aside!

I mean, Ryan is so obvious. Jake is so obvious. Nicole is SO OBVIOUS. And yet Fixie is so pure hearted while also being horribly insecure that she just can't see it.

And what I find interesting in this particular Kinsella book, is how she also has a beautiful character arch for all the secondary characters as well. Lovely and so well done. I just couldn't stop reading it.

...oh and the name Fixie. Gloriously adorable!

I am a fan of Sophie Kinsella. I have to admit that this was not my favorite book. Fixie Farr fixes everything. But she is also a doormat with her siblings. When she is having a cup of tea She saves The laptop of businessman Seb and he commences the debt cycle.

Fixie has been in love with Ryan for as long as she can remember. He has been living in LA and has finally returned for good. Now he is home, broke and jobless. He convinces Fixie to use her debt that Seb owes her to get him a job.

The first half of the book I’m not a huge fan of. Fixie was a complete doormat. She puts everyone before herself and allows people to treat her poorly. The second half of the book was wonderful.

I feel like the second half of the book makes up for the first.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author, for an ARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately, I have tried reading this book on 2 separate occasions and during that 2nd attempt, I have only managed to make it halfway through so I’d rather stop here and state that this book just wasn't for me.

If you’ve ever been that girl who’s been obsessed with the wrong guy, you’ll root for Fixie Farr in Sophie Kinsella’s new book, I Owe You One (The Dial Press). After her father’s death, Fixie has taken over the role of the glue that holds her family together (her nickname comes from her constant need to always help people). While her brother and sister lead their own superfluous lives, Fixie is running the family’s store with her mother in hopes of carrying on her father’s legacy. When her longtime crush, Ryan, moves back home, Fixie will do anything to make him stay, including cash in a favor she earned by saving a handsome stranger’s laptop from utter destruction. Ryan takes advantage of Fixie’s willingness to help (and ditches her when it doesn’t work out), as do her brother and sister when their mother leaves the country for a vacation. In her absence, Fixie tries her hardest to keep the store – and the family – together while her siblings begin to run it to the ground. Holding fast to her father’s motto of “family first,” Fixie must decide if she has the courage to finally stand up for herself and choose to put her own happiness first, or will she continue to stand by as her world comes crashing down.

Another great read from Sophie Kinsella, with plenty of humor, romance and a fun and interesting plot.

This book was just okay. Sophie Kinsella has a very formulaic rhythm with her books: quirky heroine, tall, dark, handsome man who she doesn't like at first but then falls for, but then something happens...but they end up together in the end.

Not that I mind it--sometimes it works very well. Remember Me, I've Got Your Number, and Twenties Girl are some of my favorite books of all time and they have that formula. But here, it just doesn't. I can't take the character's problems all that seriously, and the guy is just...not it. While I still think it's good enough for some of my average readers, I think I'd rather go back to one of her classics.

Kinsella is one of my favorite authors, every since I first read the first novel in her Shopaholic series. This book was no exception. I needed a light-hearted read, and this hit the spot. I loved the characters, found myself wanting to help out at the family store, and was pleased with the ending. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a fun, light-hearted love story.

Most Sophie Kinsella books start out with a heroine who makes a mistake and then spends the whole book trying to cover it up. Normally, as long as I can get past the initial dumb thing, I'm good to go. But in this case, Fixie just kept making poor choices over and over and over, and it just got so repetitive - I couldn't root for someone who couldn't help herself! But I kept reading, and about halfway through, the book improved a bit, until by the end, I was enjoying it.
