Is it possible that Christians have become so focused on the glory of God coming in the end, that we miss His glory all around us now? There have been arguments for both sides of this topic, but Gerald R. McDermott writes that, while we wait for Jesus to return in glory, we shouldn't ignore His Everyday Glory.

God has set events in place throughout history and nature that point us to Him. The Old Testament is filled with things that happened or were said to point towards the coming Messiah. Jesus, and the writers of the New Testament referenced these events. In addition to the types in the Bible, McDermott points out the types in nature, law, history, and other areas, and how they point us to God. We don't have to look far to see God's glory each and every day.

McDermott has written an in-depth book. There is plenty in Everyday Glory to read and think about. Though his writing style is easy to understand, the amount of information contained in the book meant I had to read it over the course of several days. There was so much in it that I couldn't take it all in at one time. This book would be helpful to anyone that either wants a reminder to see God's touch each day, or is wanting to be able to show it to others.
