Cute illustrations accompany the bedtime story, Owl Love You. In the book, a baby owl accompanies its mother as they explore the night sky and notice the animals just coming awake at night. The rhyming doesn't always flow, but it is a book young children will likely still enjoy.

This is a beautiful book about a parent's love. The rhymes are cute and the pictures are very vibrant.

This is a boon young readers will love just to look at, don’t even need to know how to read to understand the story (great for the wee tykes).
A baby owl wakes up at sundown and takes flight with his mom. They flap through the night seeing the other nocturnal families at play and stretching their wings.
The illustrations keep your gaze start to finish, the kind that make you to “aww” as soon as you open the book.
The writing itself felt just a little awkward when paired with the graphics, like the majority of the passion went into the illustrations and narration was an afterthought. I don’t think the kids will mind but the adults will notice it on the 5th or 6th read.

I am not quite sure why my sister suggested this book to me but I am so glad that she did and that I chose to read it.

This is one of those very rare and special books that although there may not be much of a story the message is strong enough to warm the hearts of readers young and old. It provides the readers with a chance to revisit their childhood in which frightening questions and scenarios always seemed not too far away and the hope when your loving parents could do no wrong as they were your heroes.

The story has a beautiful poetic rhythm that is comforting. The words are easy to understand while the cleverness of putting them in owl terms will endear this book to others.

The artwork is breathtaking and will convey the reader into the magical depths of a forest full of life.

In the end this is one book that I would enjoy sharing with a child or two if I ever get a chance to do so. Otherwise I do recommend it for a snuggle book in which parents and children can reaffirm their own special ties to each other even as they learn just what it takes to be a loving parent and a fastly independent growing child.

Sweet bedtime story, lovely illustrations.
It was enjoyable with a nice rhythm and cadence. It might not be a great book for early readers as there is some owl-ifying of words but it's still sweet.

Thank you to #NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an advance e-copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a sweet book to read to children before bed. I have loved Wednesday Kirwan's illustrations since her Minerva books and this book is just as great. My daughter wanted us to read it over and over to her.

Bit of cleverness! I liked this book, though it may need explaining to littles. I love how the Mama or Papa Owl flies with baby owl all night while baby owl asks who will care for him under various circumstances- Owl will. see? Cute play on words! I enjoyed it! Loved the art work illustrations. Just wonderful!

Kirwan's illustrations are nice. The sentences / verses rhyme and hence are memorable. My only peeve is that not all things that come out / go 'bumpin' in the night' are covered, but it's a cute read for any 2-4 year old with his/her mommy/daddy.

Thanks to the publisher for the ARC.

Lovely story about a mother owl comforting her little son, it felt like poetry. The book has beautiful illustrations and the dialogues were adorable. Overall, a book I would buy to my niece.

This book just didn't work that well for me. I can see how it might appeal to some readers, but for me, the whole pun thing grated on my nerves and I just couldn't get past it.

The story is a rhyming back-and-forth between a young owl and its mother. I don't have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with is the continual use of "hoo'll" instead of "who'll" and "owl" instead of "I'll". I can't help but be reminded of what happened when a particular Christmas movie came out and we ended up with a whole generation of kids who thought Santa Claus had an "e" on the end of his last name. If a parent is just going to be reading this book aloud to kids, it won't be a problem. But if kids are reading this book to themselves and don't understand that these particular words are spelled incorrectly for effect, then I'm afraid they'll start to think that that's how these words are actually spelled.

The illustrations left me with mixed feelings. Some are really cute and are quite striking with their nocturnal backgrounds. Others just seem dull and a little too cutesy.

Overall, I'm not sure that I'd recommend this one. Maybe with the caveat that it's best read aloud to kids who aren't yet old enough to absorb the intentional wrong spellings.

This is terribly sweet. My rating 4.5.

Baby owl’s day starts at sun set while human children are going to bed. Mama owl takes baby out to show him the nighttime forest full of other creatures. Baby owl asks natural questions to which mama owl provides loving answers. The story is written in light, gentle rhyming which is pleasant to read. The illustrations are skilled and charming. This would make a lovely book to read to children as a bed time story or anytime during the day.

A gorgeous bedtime book with a sweet and heart-warming story and amazing illustrations.
A cute baby owl goes on a little night adventure with his Mum. On their way, he keeps asking his Mum lots of questions starting with 'Hoo'll...'
'Hoo'll catch me when I flutter and fall?
Owl catch you, tail feathers and all'...
'Hoo'll show me how to be curious and clever
Owl show you ropes, kid, now and forever'

I loved the soothing rhythm of rhyming couplets full of reassurance and parental love.

Owls, puns, and a tear-jerker! I love the amazing illustrations in this book. Each is worthy of framing. This is a great story for bedtime where a mom reassures her child she will always be there for them.

This sweet story tells of parents and their offspring in a way that reminds me of "Guess How Much I Love You." The illustrations are lovely and the color palette is pleasing.

My Thoughts:
Hoo’ll hang with me when my friends aren’t around?

Owl hang with you when things feel upside down.

The sweet owlet is predictably wondering about so many things, and seeks answers and reassurance. And hoo better to comfort and answer her than mom.The book delivers on sweetness as mother owl shows little owlet all that is wonderful about their home, and lets owlet know that she’ll always be there for him.

I truly loved those little details that are captured in both the sweet, rhyming text and the gorgeous, colorful illustrations; as well as between them. For instance, the words from the book I added above use ‘hang with me’ and that is exactly what my kids (now older) say when they want to be their friends – ‘hang with’. And the illustrations accompanying these words – those mammals that hang upside down – bats 🙂

In Summary:
Hoo’ll love this book? Owll of us, I am pretty sure! Anyone who picks up this book will be delighted by it – both the illustrations and the words.
A book that portrays parenting so wonderfully! And on a side-note, I love that the authors are from the Bay Area (I do not know them, but it is always cool to read books from someone you might potentially run into!)

This book is an AMAZING read! The cover and title called out to me to request this book and I am very glad I did. A and I read this at bedtime and honestly, I was very surprised with how vibrant the colors were! It was perfect for this book. With each page, we start off with the word Hoo'll instead of who and end the sentence with Owl instead of I'll which is really neat. A and I got a kick out of using those words. This book is just really reassuring of what a mother will do for her child when asked. Really good book and one I do believe I will buy to give to my nieces!

Another great bed time book for the kiddos and family. Beautiful and fun. Bed time reading is a great way to get your children interested in reading. Start with this one!

The visuals are stunning in this lovely little adventure. The use of colours is soothing and really fits the overall mood of the book. I wish there was a little story instead of dialogue only, but this would be fun to play and read together with a child before bedtime. One of the better children's books I read, the drawings just make it so wonderful.
