Dr Harrison MacMasters isn’t only a handsome Scottish doctor, but he is also a spy aiding to keep precious antiquities right where they belong. Grace Winters is a reluctant thief who is just trying to support her sister and do as her aunt says. When Grace is caught in the act by the man she spent a passionate night with a year before, she is forced to work with Harry in exchange for her and her aunt’s freedom.

This is another topsy turvy ride with a hot Scot and his brazen American beauty. This is the third novel in Kingston’s Highland Hearts series, but can be read on its own. Kingston introduced us to both Grace and Harry in book two of the series and I for one am overjoyed that the duo is getting their own adventure.

Grace is basically a professional bridesmaid. I guess that was really a thing back then. If the bride is short on friends, Grace is hired to fill out the numbers. Often at these weddings, Grace and her aunt steal a few precious items they hope will not be missed until they are far from the scene of the crime. At the wedding where Grace and Harry met, she also met another bridesmaid and fellow American, Miss Belle Fairchild. Grace is needed to get close to Belle while Belle prepares for her wedding. With Harry pretending to be Grace’s newly wedded husband, she thinks she will do just that and no more. Well, it doesn’t quite work out that way. The memories of the explosive night they shared together and their fake marriage bring Grace and Harry closer to a real pair of I do’s!

With one twist after another, Kingston kept me enraptured by these characters and their journey. I’m so glad she decided to give Harry and Grace their story and I’m excited to see who she will give us in the next installment of this fabulous series!

I received this book for free. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

book 3 in the highland hearts series, tempting the highland spy, finds harrison macmasters finding his match in jewel thief gracie mae winters. they'd shared an interlude at a wedding earlier in the series, and she was the one girl who got away.

forced to work together to solve the murder of an american tycoon, harrison and grace must find a way to forget their past connection. but the longer they are forced to pretend to be married, the more both of them wishes that there could be a different ending to their story.

harrison is kind of a dreamboat hero, so it's easy to swoon over him and grace together. i can't wait to see who's turn will be next in this series.

**tempting the highland spy will publilsh on november 26, 2018. i receved an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (amara) in exchage for my honest review.

This story was absolutely fantastic! Harrison and Grace have a past history but circumstances have brought them together. They need to join forces to solve a crime, the only obstacle is their attraction to each other and trying to fight it. The mission is treacherous and dangerous they have to rely on each other to stay alive and solve the mystery.
The story is intense, with plenty of intrigue with lots of unexpected turns.. Villains aplenty and some surprises in the end. A page turner till the last page!
I recieved a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. This is my unbiased opinion.

Tempting the Highland Spy has a great ‘who is it’ plot! We know that our heroine and her aunt are thieves, but there is so much more going on in this romance. Harrison, as a spy, is serious about protecting the Scottish historical articles, along with the rest of his family. Grace and Aunt Thelma are just as serious about protecting Grace’s sister and providing for her care. But, Grace and Thelma are forced to do one last ‘job’ before being given their pardon. No, it turns out to be a test of Grace’s ability to assist with another job. Plus, Aunt Thelma just cannot not steal.

Grace is beautiful in heart and mind, as well as, physically. She has a genuine heart for others that sometimes causes her problems. The Antiquities Guild agent, Simon MacMasters and the American agent, Mr. Jones, force Grace to partner with Harrison to find a killer, find stolen items and/or protect an heiress is she is not the murdered. Now, this should be her last job. Great plot!

At times, I was disappointed in Harrison due to his belief that Grace could not take care of herself. His former governess, Mrs. Carmichael, the untamed shrew, came to her rescue teaching and giving Grace items with which to protect herself. So, all was not lost. I just would have expected Harrison to do that.

Harrison had his own bit of baggage from a previously sour relationship that colored how he viewed Grace. He did come through in other ways - not being able to stay away from her and not being able to keep from falling in love with her.

Two of my favorite secondary characters were Thelma and Mrs. Carmichael. The genuine kindness of Belle made her an adorable character, too.

This is another amazing Tara Kingston romance that will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next. I hope Belle gets her man soon.

Harrison and Grace are forced to worked together to solve a crime. The problem is, they are also attracted to each other and trying to fight it. The mission is dangerous and they have to rely on each other to stay alive and solve the mystery. The story is filled with intrigue and some tense moments. The villains are not easily spotted and there are some surprises in the end. Harrison and Grace learn to set asid their differences and come to understand that love is what matters the most.

Description
"Tara Kingston never fails to sweep us off our feet!" ~ USA Today bestselling author Eliza Knight

Highlander Harrison MacMasters knows a pretty face can hide bitter deception. Once, he'd been drawn to Grace Winters and the temptation in her kiss. Now, he knows better than to trust her with anything, including his heart. But when he’s drawn into a risky mission with life-and-death stakes, he's forced to watch over the one woman he hoped to never see again.

Grace Winters will do anything to keep her sister safe, even if it means stealing the Crown Jewels themselves. But when she’s caught in the act, she’ll need to make a bargain with the devil to keep herself from the gallows and her family from the poorhouse. Too bad the one man she gave in to temptation with years ago now controls her fate and is playing a dangerous game of his own—with her heart..

My Thoughts:
This is the third book of this series but could be read as a standalone. Although we met Harrison and Grace previously in book two of the series you wouldn't be lost it you had not read any of the other books. There is some background you would miss but it isn't significant.
I am glad this couple got their own story.
This book has a little bit of everything. There is mystery, danger and of course romance.
I have this title 4.5 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization and a medium sensual rating of 3 of 5 flames.
The heat does sizzle at times but it is mostly mild.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

This is the third book in the series but could easily be read on it’s own. We did meet both Harry & Grace in the second book & I’m so glad they’ve had their story. Another well written book from the author, the characters are well fleshed, Harry & Grace are very likeable & although they are attracted to each other & had spent a night together over a year ago they both know there’s no future for them. They are simply working together to solve a couple of crimes & find stolen antiquities. The secondary characters are well drawn & I particularly liked Mrs Carmichael. The book had me gripped from the start & held my interest until the last page. I’m loving the MacMaster siblings & very glad they are a large family
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Initially this story had promise, Grace appeared to be a strong, skilled woman who just so happens to steal valuables to support her sister. In comes Harrison who she's had a previous one night stand with and all of a sudden the woman can't do anything but think of him and their lost connection. I didn't care for Harrison much either I lost count of the number of times he mentioned Grace couldn't take care of her self if she was a spy. As I read, I kept hoping there would be more obstacles and more danger but the plot was so slow to unravel and the action barely there. Disappointing.

Miss Grace Winters is an American and a thief. This particular mission in Scotland that she finds herself on is very important to her and her family. Her aunt who taught her how to relieve people of their possessions is traveling with her , but can often be a problem.

Hopefully this will be the last time she needs to steal.

Dr.Harrison MacMasters is sometimes an agent who recovers stolen artifacts. The woman he is following is bound to be after one of them. It's his sworn duty to stop her.

This mission will be difficult on a personal and professional level for both of them. The danger is real and unexpected.

A lovely historical romance with lots of adventure for our heroine and soul searching for our hero.

Very good fun. I loved it.

Grace is back in the Highlands , she’s a Thief , what she doesn’t know is that the Authorities are on to her and know she’s in the country, and that the Highlander a Spy , who’s bed she she visited a year ago , has recognised her and seen through her pitiful disguise.
She’s not as good at the job as she thought and is caught , now she must trust both her life and her sisters to the one man she thought never to see again .
An interesting adventure and an enjoyable read.

I received this novel from net galley and the publisher. Thank you!
This novel was an enjoyable read, bringing in romance, mystery, and action. Grace Winters is a thief, but has her reasons for it. She is a strong, independent woman, but gets caught and now is working the the American agents to track down someone who has committed serious crimes and thefts. She meets Dr. Harrison MacMasters, the one man she gave into before when they met, thinking she would never see him again. Harrison has not forgotten Grace. He does his duty as a Highland spy, also participating in the investigation of murder and theft. Harrison and Grace are forced to work together to catch those responsible. They pose as a married couple and "meet" with one of Grace's acquaintances from America. Still, their attraction to each other has only grown the more time they spend together and each is keeping their own secrets from the other. As they close in on the suspects, the stakes become much higher and only by working together can they stop the culprits. Both thought they were cone with the other after their first encounter, but fate has a way of intervening when least expected.
