I enjoyed the realistic situations and banter in the beginning of the book and literally laughed out loud! The book took a turn I didn't expect and it was interesting to see how such a tragic event impacted the main characters to get out of their comfort zones and make necessary changes to better their lives.

The story of this book was good. After the tragedy, Penelope has to deal with a lot more things including her marriage-which is on the rocks, her children, her work and at the same time trying to heal. It is a medium paced book. The elements of the story are such that it hits you at times but other than that, the story was not anything extraordinary. I really wanted something big to happen, but it was all mostly conversation and arguing and coming up with solutions and the cycle went on. The characters of this book were fleshed and nuanced. It is a character driven story so it was very important to have strong characters and this book had them. Penelope is a middle aged woman going through a lot of things and trying to stay afloat. Her husband, Sanjay Kar, is a writer who does not have a steady income stream. Her best friend, Jenny and her husband Matt are also important characters. All the characters have a realistic touch which made it a little more interesting. The pacing was medium but there were a lot of times when I felt bored. There were parts which felt a little stretched for me and I couldn’t full enjoy the book, even though it had a good pacing. Every time you feel something was going to happen , it did not and this kind of hampered my excitement. The ending felt a little underwhelming and hence it wasn’t the best reading experience for me.

After I read this book my first thought was "The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence". Nobody's life is perfect. I found Penny to be exhausting and I wondered how Jenny put up with her. By the time I got to the end of the book I realized I did not care what happened to the characters.

Camille Pagán is one of the few authors whose books I will pick up to read without even looking at the back cover to see what it's about. I just love her style of writing, her relatable characters and the honest stories she tells.

At the heart of this story about family and friendship is the little white lie we tell ourselves and the people closest to us. I know I'm guilty of saying "I'm fine" even when I'm not.

Penelope Ruiz-Kar says those two words so often that she has even started to believe it herself—even though she's miserable in her job, overwhelmed at home and worried about her marriage. When she unexpectedly loses her best friend who was apparently also guilty of pretending things were okay even when they're not, Penelope does a little experiment to see if honesty really is the best policy.

There was so much to love about this heartwarming and heartbreaking book. I cried, I laughed and I cried again—I can't 1recommend this book enough! Is it too soon to say I can't wait to see what Camille writes next?!

This book must say that I loved it very much. His unique title as all of the author. Well written plot with interesting characters and events and circumstances that allow us to feel part of the plot. Well-described and detailed events and an excellent ending. A very dramatic but at the same time sensitive story where a marriage after the death of a friend proves it strength, it commitment and love. Excellent for the author.

A book for all Wives and/or Mothers.
I related to Penelope so many times in this book. It was so real! It made me laugh out loud for real. I felt her stress and frustration. I felt her insecurity and her fear. Penelope is the real woman with the friend we all have. The one who has everything and seems like everything comes easy for them. Until something horrible happens that makes Penelope realize nothing is quite what it seems and maybe things aren’t how she wants them to be. So she embarks on a project with her husband but will this cause more problems than it fixes?
I’m Fine And Neither Are You is a great, funny, and real read. Once I started it I was hooked! Camille Pagan has created a must read that makes you laugh and makes you think.

This one moved a little slow for me but overall I enjoyed the story of female friendships. It was a quick read and different style from what I normally read. Fans of Sally Rooney would also enjoy this book.

Just wow. this was a very interesting read and i connected with all the characters, Penny, Sanjay, Matt and even Cecily. It was heartbreaking but kind of bittersweet also? how Penny got this wake up call to change things in her life and see things from another perspective, was somewhat sweet and interesting. I just wished that we could see more of what happend to Penny after, if she did try to write a book or how Sanjay's job went... but that is just because i wanted more.

I loved this book! It was so real life! And while I don't have any children, I could totally relate! This book gave me all the feels - and I laughed out loud more times than I could count. This was the first book I have read by Camille Pagan and I will definitely be reading more!

This was the first novel by this author that I've read, and it was pleasant! Overall, it was just an honest story with a flawed relationship trying to find balance. While I couldn't personally connect with any of the main characters, I found myself rooting for Penny, hoping she would come out of her struggles and be ok. I would definitely recommend this book to my married gal pals!

I’m Fine and Neither are you by Camille Pagan is a book many women can relate. Unfortunately, I think I am in the wrong stage in life to truly appreciate this book. I am not married nor a mother so I couldn’t connect to the main character. The writing was good and there was strong character development, but it left me feeling stressed.

As a working mother of two, this book really resonated with me. The author perfectly articulated the daily struggles that I face and I felt like the relationships were realistic and authentic. A very easy and enjoyable read---even though it had some tough topics! Definitely a "must read" for the summer.

I'm Fine and Neither Are You is a story that countless women can tell. I think it's important to realize that honesty is best. There is no way out of the life sucking abyss of home, marriage and children without help. It's still tolerable at best most of the time. I enjoyed the very real feeling about this story. Overall it's a good read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Every day is a struggle for Penelope: like most working moms, its that rush in the morning to get yourself and your kids out of the house, with the lunches packed and pick up organized, a full work day, then activities for the kids, dinner for the family, bed time, and finally middle of the night wake up for your son's accident in his bed. You have to have super powers to cope, especially when your partner, for Penelope its Sanjay, is coasting along in his own world, is no help with the kids, and makes no money. Penelope became the primary breadwinner when Sanjay dropped out of medical school, to try to realize his dream of writing a book. Unfortunately, even the book is at a standstill. Penelope is doing her best to cope with life as it stands for her, Sanjay and their two children, but she is losing it. Her best friend Jenny appears to have it all: a perfect husband, a beautiful house, one child, and a successful blog (advertisers on her blog pay her and then send her gifts). How is it, Penelope wonders, that some people seem to have it all? Penelope, in a desperate moment, confronts Sanjay with brutal honesty, something which is out of character for her, and tells him that things have to start to change. This was advice that Jen had suggested to Penelope - ."If you are not happy make a change." When a tragedy strikes Jen, Penelope starts to question if everything was really as it appeared for her best friend.

To give you an idea of what makes this book special I quote Jen, from her blog:
"This is not a test. Life is messy and sometimes tragic and often just plain hard for a woman to weather. But when you take a step back for a moment, the whole of it is incredibly beautiful, and that is what we must choose to focus on. xo Jenny"

Penelope says: "it takes courage to be yourself when everyone expects you to be someone else." AND
"I only hope she knew I had received her parting gift - the ability to see beyond what is missing and be thankful for all that remained."

I'm fine and Neither Are You, is about being honest with yourself and with those people around you, even, and especially, when it may be uncomfortable. It does not mean that the confrontation has to be ugly, because, as Sanjay told Penelope, repeatedly, "we are on the same team"!

Excellent read that covers so many other issues. Pick it up for some sage advice on life! Thank you #netgalley for this e-ARC. #imfineandneitherareyou

This book pulled at my heartstrings so many times. I laughed, I cried, I screamed “you go girl” and got weird looks from the people around me.

I was expecting so much more from this book based on the title and summary. Unfortunately I decided to not finish this book

I didn't finish I'm Fine and Neither Are You.

I'm not the targeted audience for this book, so it didn't capture my attention. I stopped reading about 30% of the way in because it was too slow moving.

Diverse reads: Main female protagonist is married to Sanjay, who is Indian.

I found this a highly relatable story of how easy it is to fall into bad habits in a marriage along with the things that we hide from everyone. I think the summary of the story leads the reader to believe there will be more to Jenny's story. I was left hoping for more information about Jenny, but I enjoyed the Penelope/Sanjay storyline quite a bit.
